Beware,
certainly they
themselves
(are) the fools,
[and] but

those who
believe[d],

`We believe[d].`

they are alone

their evil ones,

`Indeed, we
(are) with you,
only
we
(are) mockers.`
And when
they meet
those who
believe[d],
they say,
`We believe[d].`
But when
they are alone

their evil ones,

`Indeed, we
(are) with you,

we
(are) mockers.`
And give good news
(to) those who
believe,
and do
[the] righteous deeds,
that
for them
(will be) Gardens,
flow
[from]
under them
the rivers.
Every time
they are provided
there from
of
fruit
(as) provision,
they (will) say,
`This (is)
the one which
we were provided
before.`
And they will be given
(things) in resemblance;
and for them
therein
spouses
purified,
and they
therein
(will) abide forever.
And when
said
your Lord
to the angels,
`Indeed, I (am)
going to place
in
the earth
a vicegerent`
they said,
`Will You place
in it
(one) who
will spread corruption
in it
and will shed
[the] blood[s],
while we
[we] glorify (You)
with Your praises
and we sanctify
[to] You?`
He said,
`Indeed, I
[I] know
what
you (do) not know.`
They said,
`Glory be to You!
No knowledge
(is) for us
except
what
You have taught us.
Indeed, You!
You
(are) the All-Knowing,
the All-Wise.`
And when
Musa said
to his people,
'Indeed, Allah
commands you
that
you slaughter
a cow.'
They said,
'Do you take us
(in) ridicule.'
He said,
'I seek refuge
in Allah
that
I be
among
the ignorant.'
They said,
'Pray
for us
(to) your Lord
to make clear
to us
what
it (is).'
He said,
'Indeed, He
says,
'[Indeed] it
(is) a cow
not
old
and not
young,
middle aged
between
that,'
so do
what
you are commanded.'
They said,
'Pray
for us
(to) your Lord
to make clear
to us
what
(is) its color.'
He said,
'Indeed, He
says,
'[Indeed] it is
a cow
yellow,
bright
(in) its color,
pleasing
(to) those who see (it).'
They said,
'Pray
for us
(to) your Lord
to make clear
to us
what
it (is).
Indeed,
[the] cows
look alike
to us.
And indeed we,
if
wills Allah,
(will) surely be [those who are] guided.'
He said,
'Indeed, He
says,
'[Indeed] it
(is) a cow
not
trained
to plough
the earth,
and not
water
the field;
sound,
no
blemish
in it.'
They said,
'Now
you have come
with the truth.'
so they slaughtered it,
and not
they were near
(to) doing (it).
And when
they meet
those who
believe[d],
they say,
'We have believed.'
But when
meet in private
some of them
with some (others),
they say,
'Do you tell them
what
Allah has revealed
to you
so that they argue with you
therewith
before
your Lord?
Do (you) then not
understand?'
And when
they meet
those who
believe[d],
they say,
'We have believed.'
But when
meet in private

And when
(it) is said
to them,
'Believe
in what
Allah has revealed,'

And they disbelieve
in what
(is) besides it,
while it
(is) the truth
confirming
what
(is) with them,
Say,
'Then why
(did) you kill
the Prophets of Allah
before,
if
you were
believers?'
And when
We took
your covenant
and We raised
over you
the mount,
'Hold
what
We gave you,
with firmness
and listen.'
They said,
'We heard
and we disobeyed.'
And they were made to drink
in
their hearts
(love of) the calf
because of their disbelief
Say,
'Evil (is) that
orders you (to do) it
your faith,
if
you are
believers.'
Or
were you
witnesses
when
came to
Yaqub
[the] death,
when
he said
to his sons,
'What
will you worship
after me?'
They said,
'We will worship
you God
and (the) God
(of) your forefathers,
Ibrahim
and Ismail
and Ishaq-
God
One.
And we
to Him
(are) submissive.'
Those who,
when
strikes them
a misfortune,
they say,
'Indeed, we belong to Allah
and indeed we
towards Him
will return.'
And when
it is said
to them,
'Follow
what
Allah has revealed,'
they said,
'Nay
we follow
what
we found
[on it]
our forefathers (following)'.
Even though
[were]
their forefathers
(did) not understand
anything
and they were not guided?
Did you not see
[towards]
the chiefs
of
the Children
of Israel
after
Musa,
when
they said
to a Prophet
of theirs,
'Appoint
for us
a king,
we may fight
in
the way
of Allah?'
He said,
'Would
you perhaps -
if
prescribed
upon you
[the] fighting,
that not
you fight?'
They said,
'And what
for us
that not
we fight
in
the way
of Allah
while surely
we have been driven out
from
our homes
and our children?'
Yet, when
was prescribed
upon them
[the] fighting
they turned away,
except
a few
among them.
And Allah
(is) All-Knowing
of the wrongdoers.
Did you not see
[towards]
the chiefs
of
the Children
of Israel
after
Musa,
when
they said
to a Prophet

to kingship
than him,
and he has not been given
abundance
of
[the] wealth?'
He said,
'Indeed,
Allah
has chosen him
over you
and increased him
abundantly
in
[the] knowledge
and [the] physique.
and Allah
gives
His kingdom
(to) whom
He wills.
And Allah
(is) All-Encompassing.
All-Knowing.'
Then when
set out
Talut
with the forces
he said,
'Indeed,
Allah
will test you
with a river.
So whoever
drinks
from it
then (he is) not
from me,
and whoever
(does) not
taste it
then indeed, he
(is) from me
except
whoever
takes
(in) the hollow
(of) his hand.'
Then they drank
from it
except
a few
of them.
Then when
he crossed it
and those who
believed
with him,
they said,
'No
strength
for us
today
against Jalut
and his troops.'
said
those who
were certain
that they
(would) meet
Allah,
'How many
of
a small company
overcame
a large company
with the permission
of Allah.
And Allah
(is) with
the patient ones.'
And when
they went forth
to (face) Jalut
and his troops
they said,
'Our Lord!
Pour
on us
patience
and make firm
our feet,
and help us
against
the disbelieving people.'
Those who
consume
[the] usury
not
they can stand
except
like
stands
the one who,
confounds him
the Shaitaan
with
his touch.
That
(is) becaues they
say,
'Only
the trade
(is) like
[the] usury.'
While Allah has permitted
[the] trade
but (has) forbidden
[the] usury.
Then whoever -
comes to him
(the) admonition
from
His Lord
and he refrained,
then for him
what
(has) passed,
[and] his case
(is) with
Allah,
and whoever
repeated
then those
(are) the companions
(of) the Fire,
they
in it
will abide forever.
That
(is) because they
say,
`Never
will touch us
the Fire
except
(for) days
numbered.`
And deceived them
in
their religion
what
they were
inventing.
And from
the People
of the Book
(is he) who,
if
you entrust him
with a great amount of wealth
he will return it
to you.
And from them
(is he) who,
if
you entrust him
with a single coin
not
will he return it
to you
except
you keep constantly
over him
standing.
That
(is) because they
said,
`Not
on us
concerning the unlettered people
any [way] (accountability).`
And they say
about
Allah
the lie
while they
know.
And when
Allah took
covenant
of the Prophets,
`Certainly, whatever
I (have) given you
of
(the) Book
and wisdom
then
comes to you
a Messenger
confirming
that which
(is) with you,
you must believe
in him
and you must help him.`
He said,
`Do you affirm
and take
on
that (condition)
My Covenant?`
They said,
`We affirm.`
He said,
`Then bear witness,
and I am
with you
among
the witnesses.`
Lo! You are
those,
you love them
but not
they love you
and you believe
in the Book -
all of it.
And when
they meet you
they say,
`We believe.`
And when
they are alone
they bite
at you
the finger tips
(out) of
[the] rage.
Say,
`Die
in your rage.
Indeed.
Allah
(is) All-Knowing
of what
(is in) the breasts.`
And not
were
their words
except
that
they said,
`Our Lord
forgive
for us
our sins
and our excesses
in
our affairs
and make firm
our feet
and give us victory
against
[the people]
the disbelievers.`
When it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "Why, we only Want to make peace!"
When it is said to them: "Believe as the others believe:" They say: "Shall we believe as the fools believe?" Nay, of a surety they are the fools, but they do not know.
When they meet those who believe, they say: "We believe;" but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say: "We are really with you: We (were) only jesting."
When they meet those who believe, they say: "We believe;" but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say: "We are really with you: We (were) only jesting."
But give glad tidings to those who believe and work righteousness, that their portion is Gardens, beneath which rivers flow. Every time they are fed with fruits therefrom, they say: "Why, this is what we were fed with before," for they are given things in similitude; and they have therein companions pure (and holy); and they abide therein (for ever).
Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I will create a vicegerent on earth." They said: "Wilt Thou place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood?- whilst we do celebrate Thy praises and glorify Thy holy (name)?" He said: "I know what ye know not."
They said: "Glory to Thee, of knowledge We have none, save what Thou Hast taught us: In truth it is Thou Who art perfect in knowledge and wisdom."
And remember Moses said to his people: "Allah commands that ye sacrifice a heifer." They said: "Makest thou a laughing-stock of us?" He said: "Allah save me from being an ignorant (fool)!"
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what (heifer) it is!" He said; "He says: The heifer should be neither too old nor too young, but of middling age. Now do what ye are commanded!"
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us Her colour." He said: "He says: A fawn-coloured heifer, pure and rich in tone, the admiration of beholders!"
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what she is: To us are all heifers alike: We wish indeed for guidance, if Allah wills."
He said: "He says: A heifer not trained to till the soil or water the fields; sound and without blemish." They said: "Now hast thou brought the truth." Then they offered her in sacrifice, but not with good-will.
Behold! when they meet the men of Faith, they say: "We believe": But when they meet each other in private, they say: "Shall you tell them what Allah hath revealed to you, that they may engage you in argument about it before your Lord?"- Do ye not understand (their aim)?

When it is said to them, "Believe in what Allah Hath sent down, "they say, "We believe in what was sent down to us:" yet they reject all besides, even if it be Truth confirming what is with them. Say: "Why then have ye slain the prophets of Allah in times gone by, if ye did indeed believe?"
And remember We took your covenant and We raised above you (the towering height) of Mount (Sinai): (Saying): "Hold firmly to what We have given you, and hearken (to the Law)": They said:" We hear, and we disobey:" And they had to drink into their hearts (of the taint) of the calf because of their Faithlessness. Say: "Vile indeed are the behests of your Faith if ye have any faith!"
Were ye witnesses when death appeared before Jacob? Behold, he said to his sons: "What will ye worship after me?" They said: "We shall worship Thy god and the god of thy fathers, of Abraham, Isma'il and Isaac,- the one (True) Allah: To Him we bow (in Islam)."
Who say, when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return":-
When it is said to them: "Follow what Allah hath revealed:" They say: "Nay! we shall follow the ways of our fathers." What! even though their fathers Were void of wisdom and guidance?
Hast thou not Turned thy vision to the Chiefs of the Children of Israel after (the time of) Moses? they said to a prophet (That was) among them: "Appoint for us a king, that we May fight in the cause of Allah." He said: "Is it not possible, if ye were commanded to fight, that that ye will not fight?" They said: "How could we refuse to fight in the cause of Allah, seeing that we were turned out of our homes and our families?" but when they were commanded to fight, they turned back, except a small band among them. But Allah Has full knowledge of those who do wrong.

Their Prophet said to them: "Allah hath appointed Talut as king over you." They said: "How can he exercise authority over us when we are better fitted than he to exercise authority, and he is not even gifted, with wealth in abundance?" He said: "Allah hath Chosen him above you, and hath gifted him abundantly with knowledge and bodily prowess: Allah Granteth His authority to whom He pleaseth. Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things."
When Talut set forth with the armies, he said: "Allah will test you at the stream: if any drinks of its water, He goes not with my army: Only those who taste not of it go with me: A mere sip out of the hand is excused." but they all drank of it, except a few. When they crossed the river,- He and the faithful ones with him,- they said: "This day We cannot cope with Goliath and his forces." but those who were convinced that they must meet Allah, said: "How oft, by Allah's will, Hath a small force vanquished a big one? Allah is with those who steadfastly persevere."
When they advanced to meet Goliath and his forces, they prayed: "Our Lord! Pour out constancy on us and make our steps firm: Help us against those that reject faith."
Those who devour usury will not stand except as stand one whom the Evil one by his touch Hath driven to madness. That is because they say: "Trade is like usury," but Allah hath permitted trade and forbidden usury. Those who after receiving direction from their Lord, desist, shall be pardoned for the past; their case is for Allah (to judge); but those who repeat (The offence) are companions of the Fire: They will abide therein (for ever).
This because they say: "The Fire shall not touch us but for a few numbered days": For their forgeries deceive them as to their own religion.
Among the People of the Book are some who, if entrusted with a hoard of gold, will (readily) pay it back; others, who, if entrusted with a single silver coin, will not repay it unless thou constantly stoodest demanding, because, they say, "there is no call on us (to keep faith) with these ignorant (Pagans)." but they tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it.
Behold! Allah took the covenant of the prophets, saying: "I give you a Book and Wisdom; then comes to you a messenger, confirming what is with you; do ye believe in him and render him help." Allah said: "Do ye agree, and take this my Covenant as binding on you?" They said: "We agree." He said: "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses."
Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not,- though ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, "We believe": But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their fingers at you in their rage. Say: "Perish in you rage; Allah knoweth well all the secrets of the heart."
All that they said was: "Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and anything We may have done that transgressed our duty: Establish our feet firmly, and help us against those that resist Faith."
有人对他们说：“你们不要在地方上作恶。”他们就说：“我们只是调解的人。”

当时，你的主对众天神说：“我必定在大地上设置一个代理人。”他们说：“我们赞你超绝，我们赞你清净，你还要在大地上设置作恶和流血者吗？”他说：“我知道你们所不知道的。”
他们说：“赞你超绝，除了你所教授我们的知识外，我们毫无知识，你确是全知的，确是至睿的。”
当时，穆萨对他的宗族说：“真主的确命令你们宰一头牛。”他们说：“你愚弄我们吗？”他说：“我求真主保佑我，以免我变成愚人。”
他们说：“请你替我们请求你的主为我们说明那头牛的情状。”他说：“我的主说：那头牛确是不老不少，年龄适中的。你们遵命而行吧！”
他们说：“请你替我们请求你的主为我们说明那头牛的毛色。”他说“我的主说：那头牛毛色纯黄，见者喜悦。”
他们说：“请你替我们请求你的主为我们说明那头牛的情状，因为在我们看来，牛都是相似的，如果真主意欲，我们必获指导。”
他说：“我的主说：那头牛不是受过训练的，既不耕田地，又不转水车，确是全美无斑的。”他们说：“现在你揭示真相了。”他们就宰了那头牛，但非出自愿。
他们遇见信士们，就说：“我们已信道了。”他们彼此私下聚会的时候，他们却说：“你们把真主所启示你们的告诉他们，使他们将来得在主那里据此与你们争论吗？难道你们不了解吗？”

有人对他们说：“你们应当信真主所降示的经典。”他们就说：“我们信我们所受的启示。”他们不信此後的经典，其实，这部经典是真实的，能证实他们所有的经典。你说：“如果你们是信道的人，以前你们为甚麽杀害众先知呢？”
当时，我与你们缔约，并将山岳树立在你们的上面，我说：“你们当坚守我所赐你们的经典，并当听从。”他们说：“我们听而不从。”他们不信道，故对犊之爱，已浸润了他们的心灵。你说：“如果你们是信士，那末，你们的信仰所命你们的真恶劣！”
当叶尔孤白临死的时候，你们在埸吗？当时，他对他的儿子们说：“我死之後，你们将崇拜甚麽？”他们说：“我们将崇拜你所崇拜的，和你的祖先易卜拉欣、易司马仪、易司哈格所崇拜的──独一的主宰──我们只归顺他。”
他们遭难的时候，说：“我们确是真主所有的，我们必定只归依他。”
有人劝他们说：“你们应当遵守真主所降示的经典。”他们就说：“不然，我们要遵守我们祖先的遗教。”即使他们的祖先无知无识，不循正道（他们仍要遵守他们的遗教）吗？
你不知道穆萨死後以色列人中的领袖吗？当时他们对一个同族的先知说：“请你替我们立一个国王，我们就为主道而战斗。”他说：“如果战斗成为你们的定制，你们会不战斗吗？”他们说：“我们已被敌人逐出故乡，父子离散，我们怎能不为主道而战斗呢？”战斗已成为他们的定制的时候，他们除少数人外，都违背命令了。真主是全知不义的人的。

当塔鲁特统率军队出发的时候，他说：“真主必定以一条河试验你们，谁饮河水，谁不是我的部属；谁不尝河水，谁确是我的部属。”只用手捧一捧水的人，（不算违抗命令）。嗣後，他们除少数人外，都饮了河水。当他和信道的人已渡过河的时候，他们说：“今日我们绝无能力敌对查鲁特和他的军队。”有些将士确信将来必与真主相会，他们说：“少数的部队，赖真主的佑助，往往战胜多数的部队。”真主是与坚忍者同在的。
当他们出去与查鲁特和他的军队交战的时候，他们祈祷说：“我们的主啊！求你把坚忍注入我们的心中，求你坚定我们的步伐，求你援助我们以对抗不信道的民众。”
吃利息的人，要象中了魔的人一样，疯疯癫癫地站起来。这是因为他们说：“买卖恰象利息。”真主准许买卖，而禁止利息。奉到主的教训後，就遵守禁令的，得已往不咎，他的事归真主判决。再犯的人，是火狱的居民，他们将永居其中。
这是因为他们说：“火绝不接触我们，除非若干有数的日子。”他们所捏造的，在他们的宗教方面，已欺骗了他们。
信奉天经的人中有这样的人：如果你托付他一千两黄金，他会交给还你；他们中也有这样的人：如果你托付他一枚金币，他也许不交还你，除非你一再追究它。这是因为他们说：“我们不为不识字的人而受处分。”他们明知故犯地假借真主的名义而造遥。
当时，真主与众先知缔约说：“我已赏赐你们经典和智慧，以后有一个使者来证实你们所有的经典，你们必须确信他，必须辅助他。”他说：“你们承认吗？你们愿意为此事而与我缔约吗?”他们说：“我们承认了。”他说：“那末，你们作证吧；我也和你们一同作证。
你们喜爱他们，他们却不喜爱你们，你们确信一切天经，而他们遇见你们就说：“我们已信道了。”他们私相聚会的时候，为怨恨你们而咬自己的指头。你说：“你们为怨恨而死亡吧！”真主确是全知心事的。
他们没有别的话，只说：“我们的主啊！求你赦宥我们的罪恶，和我们的过失，求你坚定我们的步伐，求你援助我们以对抗不信道的民众。”
