If only they had believed in Allah, in the Prophet, and in what hath been revealed to him, never would they have taken them for friends and protectors, but most of them are rebellious wrong-doers.

They say: "Why is not an angel sent down to him?" If we did send down an angel, the matter would be settled at once, and no respite would be granted them.

Lest ye should say: "The Book was sent down to two Peoples before us, and for our part, we remained unacquainted with all that they learned by assiduous study:"

A Book revealed unto thee,- So let thy heart be oppressed no more by any difficulty on that account,- that with it thou mightest warn (the erring) and teach the Believers).

信奉天经的人中有一部分人说：“你们可以在早晨表示确信信士们所受的启示，而在晚夕表示不信，（你们这样做），他们或许叛教。

你说：“我们确信真主，确信我们所受的启示，与易卜拉欣，易司马仪，易司哈格，叶尔孤白和各支派所受的启示，与穆萨，尔萨和众先知所受赐于他们的主的经典，我们对于他们中的任何一人，都不加以歧视，我们只归顺他。”

假若他们遵守《讨拉特》和《引支勒》和他们的主所降示他们的其他经典，那末，他们必得仰食头上的，俯食脚下的。他们中有一伙中和的人；他们中有许多行为恶劣的人。

使者啊!你当传达你的主所降示你的全部经典。如果你不这样做，那末，你就是没有传达他的使命。真主将保佑你免遭众人的杀害。真主必定不引导不信道的民众。

你说：“信奉天经的人啊!你们没有什么信仰，直到你们遵守《讨拉特》和《引支勒》，以及你们的主所降示你们的经典。”你的主降示你的经典，必使他们中多数的人更加横暴，更加不信道；故你不要哀悼不信道的民众。

当他们听见诵读降示使者的经典的时候，你看他们为自己所认识的真理而眼泪汪汪，他们说：“我们的主啊!我们已信道了，求你把我们同作证真理的人记录在一处。

他们说：“为什么没有一个天神降临他呢？”假若我降下一个天神，那末，他们的毁灭，必成定案，而他们不蒙宽待了。

（我降示天经），以免你们说：“天经只被降示我们以前的两伙人，我们对于他们所诵习的经典，确是疏忽的。”

或者说：“假若天经被降示于我们，那末，我们必定比他们更能遵循正道。”从你们的主发出的明证.正道和慈恩，确已降临你们了。否认真主的迹象，而加以背弃的人，有谁比他还不义呢？背弃我的迹象的人，我耐因他们的背弃而以最严厉的刑罚报酬他们。

这是降示你的经典--你的胸中切不可因此而有一点烦闷--以便你借此而警告，并以此做信士们的教训。
