We see the turning of thy face (for guidance to the heavens: now Shall We turn thee to a Qibla that shall please thee. Turn then Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque: Wherever ye are, turn your faces in that direction. The people of the Book know well that that is the truth from their Lord. Nor is Allah unmindful of what they do.

The people of the Book know this as they know their own sons; but some of them conceal the truth which they themselves know.

(Their doom is) because Allah sent down the Book in truth but those who seek causes of dispute in the Book are in a schism Far (from the purpose).

And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book, those who believe in Allah, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to Allah: They will not sell the Signs of Allah for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and Allah is swift in account.

There are certainly among you men who would tarry behind: If a misfortune befalls you, they say: "Allah did favour us in that we were not present among them."

That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

And this (He commands): Judge thou between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, but beware of them lest they beguile thee from any of that (teaching) which Allah hath sent down to thee. And if they turn away, be assured that for some of their crime it is Allah's purpose to punish them. And truly most men are rebellious.

Why should ye not eat of (meats) on which Allah's name hath been pronounced, when He hath explained to you in detail what is forbidden to you - except under compulsion of necessity? But many do mislead (men) by their appetites unchecked by knowledge. Thy Lord knoweth best those who transgress.

Among them is (many) a man who says: "Grant me exemption and draw me not into trial." Have they not fallen into trial already? and indeed Hell surrounds the Unbelievers (on all sides).

蒙我赏赐经典的人，认识他，犹如认识自己的儿女一样。他们中有一派人，的确明知故犯地隐讳真理。

这是因为真主已降示包含真理的经典，违背经典的人，确已陷於长远的反对中。

这确是真实的故事。除真主外，绝无应受崇拜的。真主确是万能的，确是至睿的。

他们中确有一部分人，篡改天经，以便你们把曾经篡改的当做天经，其实，那不是天经。他们说：“这是从真主那里降示的。”其实那不是从真主那里降示的，他们明知故犯地假借真主的名义而造遥。

信奉天经的人中，的确有人信仰真主，信仰你们所受的启示，和他们所受的启示；同时，他们是敬事真主的，他们不以真主的迹象换取些微的代价，这等人，将在他们的主那里享受他们的报酬。真主确是清算神速的。

你们中的确有人逗留后方，如果你们遭遇灾难，他就说：“真主确已护佑我，因为我没有同他们在前方。”

又因为他们说：“我们确已杀死麦尔彦之子麦西哈.尔撒，真主的使者。”他们没有杀死他，也没有把他钉死在十字架上，但他们不明白这件事的真相。为尔撒而争论的人，对于他的被杀害，确是在迷惑之中。他们对于这件事，毫无认识，不过根据猜想罢了。他们没能确实地杀死他。

你当依真主所降示的经典而替他们判决，你不要顺从他们的私欲，你当谨防他们引诱你违背真主所降示你的一部分经典。如果他们违背正道，那末，你须知真主欲因他们的一部分罪过，而惩罚他们。有许多人，确是犯罪的。

除为势所迫外，你们所当戒除的，真主已为你们阐明了，你们怎么不吃那诵真主之名而宰的呢？有许多人，必因自己的私欲，而无知地使别人迷误。你的主确是知道过分者的。

你们不要吃那未诵真主之名而宰的，那确是犯罪。恶魔必定讽示他们的朋友，以便他们和你们争论；如果你们顺从他们，那末，你们必是以物配主的人。

这正如你的主本真理而使你从你家中出去，而一部分信士对此确是憎恶的。

当时，你们在山谷的近岸，敌军在远岸，而商队在你们的下面。假若你们约定相会，必定爽约，但（真主集合你们），以便他判决一件必行的事，以便灭亡者见明证而后灭亡，生存者见明证而后生存。真主确是全聪的，确是全知的。

他们中有人说：“请你准我的假吧。不要使我遭遇祸害。”其实，他们正堕入祸害之中。火狱确是包围著不信道者的。

归信穆萨的只有他本族的苗裔；他们害怕法老和他们本族头目们迫害他们。法老在地方上确是高傲的，确是过分的。

但今日我拯救你的遗体，以便你做后来者的鉴戒。多数的人，对于我的鉴戒，确是忽视的。

努哈祈祷他的主说：“我的主啊！我的儿子是我的亲人，你的诺言是真实的，你是最公正的判决者。”

你的主必使每个人都得享受自己行为的完全的报酬，他确是彻知他们的行为的。

在恩惠降临之前，他们要求你早日昭示惩罚。许多惩戒处罚在他们之前确已逝去了。众人虽然不义，但你的主对于他们确是饶恕的。你的主的惩罚确是严厉的。

安息日是那些为之而争论的人所应当遵守的定制。复活日，你的主必判决他们所争论的是非。

真主确是我的主，也确是你们的主，所以你们应当崇拜他。这是正路。”
