We see the turning of thy face (for guidance to the heavens: now Shall We turn thee to a Qibla that shall please thee. Turn then Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque: Wherever ye are, turn your faces in that direction. The people of the Book know well that that is the truth from their Lord. Nor is Allah unmindful of what they do.

So from whencesoever Thou startest forth, turn Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque; and wheresoever ye are, Turn your face thither: that there be no ground of dispute against you among the people, except those of them that are bent on wickedness; so fear them not, but fear Me; and that I may complete My favours on you, and ye May (consent to) be guided;

It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the Allah-fearing.

O ye who believe! when ye prepare for prayer, wash your faces, and your hands (and arms) to the elbows; Rub your heads (with water); and (wash) your feet to the ankles. If ye are in a state of ceremonial impurity, bathe your whole body. But if ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands, Allah doth not wish to place you in a difficulty, but to make you clean, and to complete his favour to you, that ye may be grateful.

Say: "My Lord hath commanded justice; and that ye set your whole selves (to Him) at every time and place of prayer, and call upon Him, making your devotion sincere as in His sight: such as He created you in the beginning, so shall ye return."

If ye did well, ye did well for yourselves; if ye did evil, (ye did it) against yourselves. So when the second of the warnings came to pass, (We permitted your enemies) to disfigure your faces, and to enter your Temple as they had entered it before, and to visit with destruction all that fell into their power.

我确已见你反复地仰视天空，故我必使你转向你所喜悦的朝向。你应当把你的脸转向禁寺。你们无论在那里，都应当把你们的睑转向禁寺。曾受天经者必定知道这是从他们的主降示的真理，真主绝不忽视他们的行为。

你无论从那里出去，都应当把你的脸转向禁寺。你们无论在那里都应当把你们的脸转向它，以免他人对你们有所借口。惟他们中不义的人除外，但你们不要畏惧他们，你们当畏惧我，以便我成全我所施於你们的恩典，以便你们遵循正道。

你们把自己的脸转向东方和西方，都不是正义。正义是信真主，信末日，信天神，信天经，信先知，并将所爱的财产施济亲戚、孤儿、贫民、旅客、乞丐和赎取奴隶，并谨守拜功，完纳天课，履行约言，忍受穷困、患难和战争。这等人，确是忠贞的；这等人，确是敬畏的。

信道的人们啊!当你们起身去礼拜的时候,你们当洗脸和手,洗至于两肘,当摩头,当洗脚,洗至两踝。如果你们是不洁的，你们就当洗周身。如果你们害病或旅行，或从厕所来，或与妇女交接，而得不到水，你们就当趋向清洁的地面，而用一部分土摩脸和手。真主不欲使你们烦难，但他欲使你们清洁，并完成他所赐你们的恩典，以便你们感谢。

你说：“我的主，命令人主持公道，在-次礼拜的时候，你们要专心致志地趋向他，要心悦诚服地祈祷他。你们要像他创造你们的时候那样返本还原。”

我说：“如果你们行善，那末，你们是为自己而行善，如果你们作恶，那末，你们是为自己而作恶。”当第二次作乱的约期来临的时候，（我又派遣他们），以便他们使你们变成为愁眉苦脸的，以便他们像头一次那样再入禁寺，以便他们把自己所占领的地方加以摧毁。
