Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say:"This is from Allah," to traffic with it for miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby.

And when there comes to them a Book from Allah, confirming what is with them,- although from of old they had prayed for victory against those without Faith,- when there comes to them that which they (should) have recognised, they refuse to believe in it but the curse of Allah is on those without Faith.

And when there came to them a messenger from Allah, confirming what was with them, a party of the people of the Book threw away the Book of Allah behind their backs, as if (it had been something) they did not know!

If they had kept their Faith and guarded themselves from evil, far better had been the reward from their Lord, if they but knew!

Quite a number of the People of the Book wish they could Turn you (people) back to infidelity after ye have believed, from selfish envy, after the Truth hath become Manifest unto them: But forgive and overlook, Till Allah accomplish His purpose; for Allah Hath power over all things.

He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book: others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:" and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding.

Right graciously did her Lord accept her: He made her grow in purity and beauty: To the care of Zakariya was she assigned. Every time that he entered (Her) chamber to see her, He found her supplied with sustenance. He said: "O Mary! Whence (comes) this to you?" She said: "From Allah: for Allah Provides sustenance to whom He pleases without measure."

There is among them a section who distort the Book with their tongues: (As they read) you would think it is a part of the Book, but it is no part of the Book; and they say, "That is from Allah," but it is not from Allah: It is they who tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it!

Allah made it but a message of hope for you, and an assurance to your hearts: (in any case) there is no help except from Allah. The Exalted, the Wise:

What! When a single disaster smites you, although ye smote (your enemies) with one twice as great, do ye say?- "Whence is this?" Say (to them): "It is from yourselves: For Allah hath power over all things."

And their Lord hath accepted of them, and answered them: "Never will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female: Ye are members, one of another: Those who have left their homes, or been driven out therefrom, or suffered harm in My Cause, or fought or been slain,- verily, I will blot out from them their iniquities, and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath;- A reward from the presence of Allah, and from His presence is the best of rewards."

On the other hand, for those who fear their Lord, are Gardens, with rivers flowing beneath; therein are they to dwell (for ever),- a gift from the presence of Allah; and that which is in the presence of Allah is the best (bliss) for the righteous.

"Wherever ye are, death will find you out, even if ye are in towers built up strong and high!" If some good befalls them, they say, "This is from Allah"; but if evil, they say, "This is from thee" (O Prophet). Say: "All things are from Allah." But what hath come to these people, that they fail to understand a single fact?

Do they not consider the Qur'an (with care)? Had it been from other Than Allah, they would surely have found therein Much discrepancy.

Allah made it but a message of hope, and an assurance to your hearts: (in any case) there is no help except from Allah: and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.

It is no fault in the blind nor in one born lame, nor in one afflicted with illness, nor in yourselves, that ye should eat in your own houses, or those of your fathers, or your mothers, or your brothers, or your sisters, or your father's brothers or your father's sisters, or your mohter's brothers, or your mother's sisters, or in houses of which the keys are in your possession, or in the house of a sincere friend of yours: there is no blame on you, whether ye eat in company or separately. But if ye enter houses, salute each other - a greeting of blessing and purity as from Allah. Thus does Allah make clear the signs to you: that ye may understand.

Say: "Then bring ye a Book from Allah, which is a better guide than either of them, that I may follow it! (do), if ye are truthful!"

Say: "See ye if the (Revelation) is (really) from Allah, and yet do ye reject it? Who is more astray than one who is in a schism far (from any purpose)?"

Say: "See ye? If (this teaching) be from Allah, and ye reject it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel testifies to its similarity (with earlier scripture), and has believed while ye are arrogant, (how unjust ye are!) truly, Allah guides not a people unjust."

哀哉！他们亲手写经，然後说：“这是真主所降示的。”他们欲借此换取些微的代价。哀哉！他们亲手所写的。哀哉！他们自己所营谋的。

当一部经典能证实他们所有的经典，从真主降临他们的时候，（他们不信它）。以前他们常常祈祷，希望借它来克服不信道者，然而当他们业已认识的真理降临他们的时候，他们不信它。故真主的弃绝加於不信道者。

当一个使者能证实他们所有的经典的，从真主那里来临他们的时候，信奉天经的人中有一部分人，把真主的经典抛弃在他们的背後，好象他们不知道一样。

假若他们信道，而且敬畏，那末，从真主那里降下的报酬，必是更好的；假若他们知道，（必已信道）。

信奉天经的人当中，有许多人惟愿使你们在继信道之後变成不信道者，这是因为他们在真理既明之後嫉视你们的缘故。但你们应当恕饶他们，原谅他们，直到真主发布命令。真主对於万事确是全能的。

他降示你这部经典，其中有许多明确的节文，是全经的基本；还有别的许多隐微的节文。心存邪念的人，遵从隐微的节文，企图淆惑人心，探求经义的究竟。只有真主和学问文精通的人才知道经义的究竟。他们说：“我们已确信它，明确的和隐微的，都是从我们的主那里降示的。惟有理智的人，才会觉悟。

她的主接受了她，并使她健全的成长，且使宰凯里雅抚育她。宰凯里雅每次进内殿去看她，都发现她面前有给养，他说：“麦尔彦啊！你怎么会有这个呢？她说：“这是从我的主那里降下的。”真主必定无量地供给他的意欲的人。

他们中确有一部分人，篡改天经，以便你们把曾经篡改的当做天经，其实，那不是天经。他们说：“这是从真主那里降示的。”其实那不是从真主那里降示的，他们明知故犯地假借真主的名义而造遥。

真主只以这应许对你们报喜，以便你们的心境因此而安定。援助只是从万能的、至睿的真主那里降下的。

你们所遭受的损失，只有你们所加给敌人的损失的一半，你们怎么还说：“这是从哪里来的呢?”你说：“这是你们自作自受的。”真主对于万事确是全能的。

他们的主应答了他们：”我绝不使你们中任何一个行善者徒劳无酬，无论他是男的，还是女的--男女是相生的--迁居异乡者、被人驱逐者、为主道而受害者、参加战斗者、被敌杀伤者，我必消除他们的过失，我必使他们进那下临诸河的乐园。”这是从真主发出的报酬。真主那里，有优美的报酬。

敬畏主的人，却得享受下临诸河的乐园，而永居其中。这是从真主那里发出的款待。在真主那里的恩典，对于义人是更有益的。

你们无论在什么地方，死亡总要追及你们，即使你们在高大的堡垒里。如果他们获得福利，他们就说：“这是真主所降赐的。”如果他们遭遇祸患，他们就说：“这是你所召致的。”你说：“祸福都是真主所降的。”这些民众，怎么几乎一句话都不懂呢？

你们无论在什么地方，死亡总要追及你们，即使你们在高大的堡垒里。如果他们获得福利，他们就说：“这是真主所降赐的。”如果他们遭遇祸患，他们就说：“这是你所召致的。”你说：“祸福都是真主所降的。”这些民众，怎么几乎一句话都不懂呢？

难道他们没有研究《古兰经》吗？假如它不是真主所启示的，他们必定发现其中有许多差别。

真主只以这个答覆向你们报喜，以便你们的心境因此而安定。援助只是从真主那里发出的。真主确是万能的，确是至睿的。

与人同席，对于盲人是无罪过的，对于瘸子是无罪过的，对于病人也是无罪过的。无论在你自己的家里，或在你们父亲的家里，或在你们母亲的家里，或在你们弟兄的家里，或在你们姐妹的家里，或在你们的叔伯的家里，或在你们的姑母的家里，或在你们舅父的家里，或在你们姨母的家里，或在有你们管理钥匙者的家里，或在你们朋友的家里，你们饮食，对于你们是无罪的。你们聚餐或分食，对于你们都是无罪的。你们进家的时候，你们当对自己祝安--真主所制定的、吉祥而优美的祝词。真主这样为你们阐明一切迹象，以便你们了解。

你说：“如果你们是诚实的人，那末，你们拿一部经典来，只要是真主所启示的，并且是比这两部经典更能引导人类的，我就遵守它。”

你说：“你们告诉我吧！如果《古兰经》是从真主那里降示的，而你们不信它，那末，有谁比长远违背真理者更迷误呢？”

你说：“你们告诉我吧！如果《古兰经》是从真主那里降示的，而你们不信它--以色列后裔中的一个见证者，已作证其相似而信奉之，你们却不屑信奉--那末，谁比你们更迷误呢？真主必定不引导不义的民众。”
