Those who reject Faith,- neither their possessions nor their (numerous) progeny will avail them aught against Allah: They are themselves but fuel for the Fire.

Allah did indeed fulfil His promise to you when ye with His permission Were about to annihilate your enemy,-until ye flinched and fell to disputing about the order, and disobeyed it after He brought you in sight (of the booty) which ye covet. Those men,-Allah knows what is in their hearts; so keep clear of them, but admonish them, and speak to them a word to reach their very souls.
They have "Obedience" on their lips; but when they leave thee, a section of them Meditate all night on things very different from what thou tellest them. But Allah records their nightly (plots): So keep clear of them, and put thy trust in Allah, and enough is Allah as a disposer of affairs.
For these, there is hope that Allah will forgive: For Allah doth blot out (sins) and forgive again and again.
Ah! These are the sort of men on whose behalf ye may contend in this world; but who will contend with Allah on their behalf on the Day of Judgment, or who will carry their affairs through?

If only the People of the Book had believed and been righteous, We should indeed have blotted out their iniquities and admitted them to gardens of bliss.
Allah will say: "This is a day on which the truthful will profit from their truth: theirs are gardens, with rivers flowing beneath,- their eternal Home: Allah well-pleased with them, and they with Allah: That is the great salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires).
Behold! how they lie against their own souls! But the (lie) which they invented will leave them in the lurch.
When thou seest men engaged in vain discourse about Our signs, turn away from them unless they turn to a different theme. If Satan ever makes thee forget, then after recollection, sit not thou in the company of those who do wrong.
This is the guidance of Allah: He giveth that guidance to whom He pleaseth, of His worshippers. If they were to join other gods with Him, all that they did would be vain for them.
Do they just wait for the final fulfilment of the event? On the day the event is finally fulfilled, those who disregarded it before will say: "The messengers of our Lord did indeed bring true (tidings). Have we no intercessors now to intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back? then should we behave differently from our behaviour in the past." In fact they will have lost their souls, and the things they invented will leave them in the lurch.
So Salih left them, saying: "O my people! I did indeed convey to you the message for which I was sent by my Lord: I gave you good counsel, but ye love not good counsellors!"

Why was there not a single township (among those We warned), which believed,- so its faith should have profited it,- except the people of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them the penalty of ignominy in the life of the present, and permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while.

他们的主应答了他们:”我绝不使你们中任何一个行善者徒劳无酬,无论他是男的,还是女的--男女是相生的--迁居异乡者、被人驱逐者、为主道而受害者、参加战斗者、被敌杀伤者,我必消除他们的过失,我必使他们进那下临诸河的乐园。”这是从真主发出的报酬。真主那里,有优美的报酬。
这等人,真主是知道他们的心事的,故你当宽恕他们,当劝戒他们,当对他们说惊心动魄的话。
他们说:“遵命。”当他们从你面前出去的时候, 他们中一部分人就阴谋变更他们所说的话,真主是要记录他们的阴谋的。故你当宽恕他们,当信托真主。真主足为受托者。
这等人,真主或许恕饶他们。真主是至恕的,是至赦的。
你们这些人啊!在今世生活中,你们替他们辩护,复活日,谁替他们辩护呢?谁做他们的监护者呢?

你看看他们怎样抵赖。他们以前伪造的(伙伴)已回避他们了。

这是真主的正道,他以它引导他所欲引导的仆人。假若他们以物配主,那末,他们的善功必定变成无效的。
他们只等待那部经典的效果,他的效果到来的日子,从前忘记这经典的人将会说:“我们的主的众使者,确已昭示真理了!我们有几位说情的人来替我们说情,或准我们返回尘世去,舍罪恶而立善功吗?”他们确已亏折了自身,他们所捏造的事已回避他们了。
于是,他离开他们,并且说:“我的宗族啊!我确已把我的主的使命传达给你们了,并忠告你们,但是你们不喜欢忠告者。”

他们顺从使者--不识字的先知,他们在自己所有的《讨拉特》和《引支勒》中发现关于他的记载。他命令他们行善,禁止他们作恶,准许他们吃佳美的食物,禁戒他们吃污秽的食物,卸脱他们的重担,解除他们的桎梏,故凡信仰他,尊重他,援助他,而且遵循与他一起降临的光明的人,都是成功者。

为何没有一个城市的居民信仰正道,因而获得信道的裨益呢?但优努斯的宗族,当他们信道的时候,我曾为他们解除了今世生活中凌辱的刑罚,并使他们暂时享受。
