When there comes to them a sign (from Allah), They say: "We shall not believe until we receive one (exactly) like those received by Allah's messengers." Allah knoweth best where (and how) to carry out His mission. Soon will the wicked be overtaken by humiliation before Allah, and a severe punishment, for all their plots.

And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury;- beneath them will be rivers flowing;- and they shall say: "Praise be to Allah, who hath guided us to this (felicity): never could we have found guidance, had it not been for the guidance of Allah: indeed it was the truth, that the messengers of our Lord brought unto us." And they shall hear the cry: "Behold! the garden before you! Ye have been made its inheritors, for your deeds (of righteousness)."

Do they just wait for the final fulfilment of the event? On the day the event is finally fulfilled, those who disregarded it before will say: "The messengers of our Lord did indeed bring true (tidings). Have we no intercessors now to intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back? then should we behave differently from our behaviour in the past." In fact they will have lost their souls, and the things they invented will leave them in the lurch.

(The Messengers) said: "O Lut! We are Messengers from thy Lord! By no means shall they reach thee! now travel with thy family while yet a part of the night remains, and let not any of you look back: but thy wife (will remain behind): To her will happen what happens to the people. Morning is their time appointed: Is not the morning nigh?"

当一种迹象降临他们的时候，他们说：“我们绝不信，直到我们得受众使者所受的（启示）。”真主是知道要把自己的使命安置在什么地方的。犯罪者，将因自己的计谋，而遭受真主那里的屈辱，和痛苦的刑罚。

我将拔除他们心中的怨恨，他们将住在下临诸河的乐园，他们将说：“一切赞颂，全归真主！他引导我们获此善报，假如真主没有引导我们，我们不致于遵循正道。我们的主的众使者，确已昭示了真理。”或者将大声地对他们说：“这就是你们因自己的行为而得继承的乐园。”

他们只等待那部经典的效果，他的效果到来的日子，从前忘记这经典的人将会说：“我们的主的众使者，确已昭示真理了！我们有几位说情的人来替我们说情，或准我们返回尘世去，舍罪恶而立善功吗？”他们确已亏折了自身，他们所捏造的事已回避他们了。

他们说：“鲁特啊！我们确是你的主的使者，他们绝不能伤及你。你应当带著你的家属在五更出行--你们中的任何人都不要回头看--但你的妻子除外，她将与他们同遭毁灭。他们约定的时间是早晨，难道早晨不是临近的吗？”
