But because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard; they change the words from their (right) places and forget a good part of the message that was sent them, nor wilt thou cease to find them- barring a few - ever bent on (new) deceits: but forgive them, and overlook (their misdeeds): for Allah loveth those who are kind.

See they not how many of those before them We did destroy?- generations We had established on the earth, in strength such as We have not given to you - for whom We poured out rain from the skies in abundance, and gave (fertile) streams flowing beneath their (feet): yet for their sins We destroyed them, and raised in their wake fresh generations (to succeed them).

Of them there are some who (pretend to) listen to thee; but We have thrown veils on their hearts, So they understand it not, and deafness in their ears; if they saw every one of the signs, not they will believe in them; in so much that when they come to thee, they (but) dispute with thee; the Unbelievers say: "These are nothing but tales of the ancients."

Can he who was dead, to whom We gave life, and a light whereby he can walk amongst men, be like him who is in the depths of darkness, from which he can never come out? Thus to those without faith their own deeds seem pleasing.

It is We Who have placed you with authority on earth, and provided you therein with means for the fulfilment of your life: small are the thanks that ye give!

And We put coverings over their hearts (and minds) lest they should understand the Qur'an, and deafness into their ears: when thou dost commemorate thy Lord and Him alone in the Qur'an, they turn on their backs, fleeing (from the Truth).

Between them and the Cities on which We had poured our blessings, We had placed Cities in prominent positions, and between them We had appointed stages of journey in due proportion: "Travel therein, secure, by night and by day."

Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Nay! it was a plot (of yours) by day and by night: Behold! Ye (constantly) ordered us to be ungrateful to Allah and to attribute equals to Him!" They will declare (their) repentance when they see the Penalty: We shall put yokes on the necks of the Unbelievers: It would only be a requital for their (ill) Deeds.

And We have put a bar in front of them and a bar behind them, and further, We have covered them up; so that they cannot see.

And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein:

And We had firmly established them in a (prosperity and) power which We have not given to you (ye Quraish!) and We had endowed them with (faculties of) hearing, seeing, heart and intellect: but of no profit to them were their (faculties of) hearing, sight, and heart and intellect, when they went on rejecting the Signs of Allah; and they were (completely) encircled by that which they used to mock at!

他们中有倾听你的，我在他们的心上加蒙蔽，以免他们了解《古兰经》。又在他们的耳中造重听。他们即使看见－切迹象，他们也不会确信。等到他们来和你辩论的时候，不信道的人说：“这只是古人的神话。”

一个人，原是死的，但我使他复活，并给他一道光明，带著在人间行走，难道他与那在重重黑暗中绝不走入光明的人是一样的吗？不信道的人，这样为他们的行为所迷惑。

我确已使你们在大地上安居，并为你们在大地上设生活所需。你们很少感谢。

在你之前，我确已派遣了许多使者，并赏赐他们妻子和儿女。除非奉真主的命令，任何使者不能昭示迹象。每个期限，各有判定。

我在大地上为你们和你们所不能供养者而创造了许多生活资料。

（如果你们悔改），你们的主或许会怜悯你们。如果你们重新违抗我，我将重新惩治你们。我以火狱为不信道者的监狱。

我以昼夜为两种迹象，我抹掉黑夜的迹象，并以白昼为明亮的，以便你们寻求从你们的主发出的恩惠，以便你们知道历法和算术。我明白地解释一切事物。

你以两个人的情况为他们打一个比喻。我为其中的一个人创造了两个葡萄园，而围以椰枣林，并且以两园之间的地方为耕地。

在那日，真主将说：“你们所称为我的伙计的，你们把他们召唤来吧。”他们就召唤那些同事，但他们不答应。我将使他们同归于尽。

那些市镇的居民多行不义的时候，我毁灭他们，我为他们的毁灭而预定一个期限。

我把我的恩惠赏赐他们，我使他们亨有真实的、崇高的声望。

不信道者难道不知道吗？天地原是闭塞的，而我开天辟地， 我用水创造一切生物。难道他们不信吗？

我赏赐他易斯哈格和叶尔孤白，我以预言和天经赏赐他的后裔，我把他在今世的报酬赏赐他，在后世必在善人之列。

我曾以他们中的一部分人为表率，当他们忍受艰难，确信我的迹象的时候，奉我的命令去引导众人。

我在他们与我所福佑的那些城市之间，建设了许多显著的城市，我均分各站间的距离。”你们在其间平安地旅行若干昼夜吧！”

被欺负的人们将对骄傲的人们说：“不然！这是你们昼夜的计谋。当时，你们教我们不信真主，却为他树立许多匹敌。”当他们看见刑罚的时候，他们表示悔恨。我要反枷锁放在在信道者的脖子上，他们只受他们的行为的报酬。

我在他们的前面安置一个障碍，在他们的后面安置一个障碍，蒙蔽了他们，所以他们看不见。

我在大地上创造许多椰枣园、葡萄园，我使许多源泉，从地中涌出，

我只使他的子孙得以生存。

我确已把没有赏赐你们的地位赏赐了他们，我曾赋予他们聪明睿智；但他们的聪明睿智，对于他们毫无裨益，因为他们否认真主的迹象，所以他们一向所嘲笑的刑罚降临他们了。
