When Abraham said: "Show me, Lord, how You will raise the dead, " He replied: "Have you no faith?" He said "Yes, but just to reassure my heart." Allah said, "Take four birds, draw them to you, and cut their bodies to pieces. Scatter them over the mountain-tops, then call them back. They will come swiftly to you. Know that Allah is Mighty, Wise."

To those who inherit the earth in succession to its (previous) possessors, is it not a guiding, (lesson) that, if We so willed, We could punish them (too) for their sins, and seal up their hearts so that they could not hear?

Do they not reflect? Their companion is not seized with madness: he is but a perspicuous warner.

Do they see nothing in the government of the heavens and the earth and all that Allah hath created? (Do they not see) that it may well be that their terms is nigh drawing to an end? In what message after this will they then believe?

See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? (Where) Allah commands, there is none to put back His Command: and He is swift in calling to account.

So warn mankind of the Day when the Wrath will reach them: then will the wrong-doers say: "Our Lord! respite us (if only) for a short term: we will answer Thy call, and follow the messengers!" "What! were ye not wont to swear aforetime that ye should suffer no decline?

They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?"

Do they not look at Allah's creation, (even) among (inanimate) things,- How their (very) shadows turn round, from the right and the left, prostrating themselves to Allah, and that in the humblest manner?

See they not that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, has power to create the like of them (anew)? Only He has decreed a term appointed, of which there is no doubt. But the unjust refuse (to receive it) except with ingratitude.

They say: "Why does he not bring us a sign from his Lord?" Has not a Clear Sign come to them of all that was in the former Books of revelation?

Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?

Do they not look at the earth,- how many noble things of all kinds We have produced therein?

Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)?

But (now), when the Truth has come to them from Ourselves, they say, "Why are not (Signs) sent to him, like those which were sent to Moses?" Do they not then reject (the Signs) which were formerly sent to Moses? They say: "Two kinds of sorcery, each assisting the other!" And they say: "For us, we reject all (such things)!"

They say: "If we were to follow the guidance with thee, we should be snatched away from our land." Have We not established for them a secure sanctuary, to which are brought as tribute fruits of all kinds,- a provision from Ourselves? but most of them understand not.

He said: "This has been given to me because of a certain knowledge which I have." Did he not know that Allah had destroyed, before him, (whole) generations,- which were superior to him in strength and greater in the amount (of riches) they had collected? but the wicked are not called (immediately) to account for their sins.

See they not how Allah originates creation, then repeats it: truly that is easy for Allah.

And is it not enough for them that we have sent down to thee the Book which is rehearsed to them? Verily, in it is Mercy and a Reminder to those who believe.

Do they not then see that We have made a sanctuary secure, and that men are being snatched away from all around them? Then, do they believe in that which is vain, and reject the Grace of Allah?

Do they not reflect in their own minds? Not but for just ends and for a term appointed, did Allah create the heavens and the earth, and all between them: yet are there truly many among men who deny the meeting with their Lord (at the Resurrection)!

Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those before them? They were superior to them in strength: they tilled the soil and populated it in greater numbers than these have done: there came to them their messengers with Clear (Signs). (Which they rejected, to their own destruction): It was not Allah Who wronged them, but they wronged their own souls.

See they not that Allah enlarges the provision and restricts it, to whomsoever He pleases? Verily in that are Signs for those who believe.

Does it not teach them a lesson, how many generations We destroyed before them, in whose dwellings they (now) go to and fro? Verily in that are Signs: Do they not then listen?

And do they not see that We do drive rain to parched soil (bare of herbage), and produce therewith crops, providing food for their cattle and themselves? Have they not the vision?

Therein will they cry aloud (for assistance): "Our Lord! Bring us out: we shall work righteousness, not the (deeds) we used to do!" - "Did We not give you long enough life so that he that would should receive admonition? and (moreover) the warner came to you. So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds): for the wrong-doers there is no helper."

Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the End of those before them,- though they were superior to them in strength? Nor is Allah to be frustrated by anything whatever in the heavens or on earth: for He is All-Knowing. All-Powerful.

See they not that it is We Who have created for them - among the things which Our hands have fashioned - cattle, which are under their dominion?-

Doth not man see that it is We Who created him from sperm? yet behold! he (stands forth) as an open adversary!

难道他们没有思维吗？他们的同伴绝没有疯病，他只是一个坦率的警告者。

难道他们没有观察天地的主权和真主创造的万物吗？难道他们没有想到他们的寿限或许已临近了吗？此外，他们将信仰什么言辞呢？

难道他们不知道吗？我到他们的地方来缩小他们的边境。真主自由判决，任何人不能反抗其判决。他是清算神速的。

你应当警告众人，将来要有这样的一日，刑罚将来临他们，而不义者将说：“我们的主啊！求你让我们延迟到一个临近的定期，以便我们响应你的号召，顺从你的使者。”难道你们以前没有发誓说，你们绝不会灭亡吗？

他们说：“难道我们没有禁止你与世人往来吗？”

难道他们没有观察真主所创造的万物吗？各物的阴影，偏向左边和右边，为真主而叩头，同时他们是卑贱的。

他们说：“他怎么不从他的那里拿一种迹象来给我们呢？”关于《古兰经》的阐明，难道没有降临他们吗？

不信道者难道不知道吗？天地原是闭塞的，而我开天辟地， 我用水创造一切生物。难道他们不信吗？

难道他们没有观察大地吗？我使各种优良的植物在大地上繁衍。

以色列后裔中的学者们知道它，这难道还不可以做他们一个迹象吗？

当我所启示的真理降临他们的时候，他们说：“他为什么不能获得象穆萨所获得的迹象呢？”难道他们没有否认以前穆萨所获得的迹象吗？他们曾说：“是两种互相印证的魔术。”他们曾说：“我们必定一概都不信。”

他们说：“如果我们与你共同遵守正道，我们将被驱逐出境。”难道我没有为他们而设立一个安全的禁地吗？各种的果实，都贩运到禁地中来，那是从我降下的给养，但他们大半不知道。

他说：“我获得这项财富，只是因为我有特殊的知识罢了。”难道他不知道吗？在他之前，真主所毁灭的各世代的恶人，有比他能力更强、积蓄更多的。犯罪的人，是不必加以审问的。

难道他们没有看见真主怎样创造众生，然后使他们复活吗？这对于真主是容易的。

我降示你这部经典，可以对他们常常宣读，难道还不能使他们满意吗？在这经典里对于信道的人确有恩惠和记念。

难道他们没有知道吗？我曾以他们的城市为安宁的禁地，而他们四周的居民被人劫掠。难道他们确信邪神，而孤负真主的恩惠吗？

难道他们没有思维吗？真主创造天地万物，只依真理和定期，有许多人的确不信将与他们的主相会。

难道他们没有在大地上旅行而观察前人的结局是怎样的吗？前人比他们努力更大，前人于地方的恳植和建设，胜过他们。他们族中的使者来临他们，真主不致亏枉他们，但他们亏枉了自己，

难道他们不知道吗？真主欲使谁的给养宽裕，就使它宽裕；（欲使谁的给养窘迫），就使它窘迫。对于信道的民众，此中确有许多迹象。

难道他们还不晓得吗？在他们之前，我曾毁灭了许多世代，他们常常经过那些人的故乡，在那里确有许多迹象。他们怎么不听从呢？

他们还不知道吗？我把雨水赶到无草的地方，而借它生出他们的牲畜和他们自己所食的庄稼。难道他们看不见吗？

他们在里面求救说：“我们的主啊！求你放我们出去，我们将改过迁善。”难道我没有延长你们的寿数，使能觉悟者有觉悟的时间吗？警告者已降临你们了。你们尝试刑罚吧，不义者绝没有任何援助者。

难道他们没有在大地上旅行，以观察前人的结局是怎样的吗？前人比他们势力更大。真主是天地间任何物不能使他无奈的，他确是全知的，确是全能的。

难道他们不知道吗？从我所亲手造作者之中，我曾为他们而创造牲畜，而他们管理它们。

难道人还不知道吗？我曾用精液创造他，而他忽然变成坦白的抗辩者。

难道他们还不知道吗？真主欲使谁的给养宽裕，就使他宽裕；欲使谁的给养窘迫，就使他窘迫。对于信道的民众，此中确有许多迹象。
