There came to you Moses with clear (Signs); yet ye worshipped the calf (Even) after that, and ye did behave wrongfully.

They (also) said: "Allah took our promise not to believe in an messenger unless He showed us a sacrifice consumed by Fire (From heaven)." Say: "There came to you messengers before me, with clear Signs and even with what ye ask for: why then did ye slay them, if ye speak the truth?"

Then if they reject thee, so were rejected messengers before thee, who came with Clear Signs, Books of dark prophecies, and the Book of Enlightenment.

On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them Our messengers with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land.

Then will Allah say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Recount My favour to thee and to thy mother. Behold! I strengthened thee with the holy spirit, so that thou didst speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. Behold! I taught thee the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel and behold! thou makest out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by My leave, and thou breathest into it and it becometh a bird by My leave, and thou healest those born blind, and the lepers, by My leave. And behold! thou bringest forth the dead by My leave. And behold! I did restrain the Children of Israel from (violence to) thee when thou didst show them the clear Signs, and the unbelievers among them said: 'This is nothing but evident magic.'

Such were the towns whose story We (thus) relate unto thee: There came indeed to them their messengers with clear (signs): But they would not believe what they had rejected before. Thus doth Allah seal up the hearts of those who reject faith.

Hath not the story reached them of those before them?- the People of Noah, and 'Ad, and Thamud; the People of Abraham, the men of Midian, and the cities overthrown. To them came their messengers with clear signs. It is not Allah Who wrongs them, but they wrong their own souls.

Generations before you We destroyed when they did wrong: their messengers came to them with clear-signs, but they would not believe! thus do We requite those who sin!

Then after him We sent (many) messengers to their peoples: they brought them Clear Signs, but they would not believe what they had already rejected beforehand. Thus do We seal the hearts of the transgressors.

Has not the story reached you, (O people!), of those who (went) before you? - of the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Thamud? - And of those who (came) after them? None knows them but Allah. To them came messengers with Clear (Signs); but they put their hands up to their mouths, and said: "We do deny (the mission) on which ye have been sent, and we are really in suspicious (disquieting) doubt as to that to which ye invite us."

(We sent them) with Clear Signs and Books of dark prophecies; and We have sent down unto thee (also) the Message; that thou mayest explain clearly to men what is sent for them, and that they may give thought.

(Remember also) Qarun, Pharaoh, and Haman: there came to them Moses with Clear Signs, but they behaved with insolence on the earth; yet they could not overreach (Us).

Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those before them? They were superior to them in strength: they tilled the soil and populated it in greater numbers than these have done: there came to them their messengers with Clear (Signs). (Which they rejected, to their own destruction): It was not Allah Who wronged them, but they wronged their own souls.

We did indeed send, before thee, messengers to their (respective) peoples, and they came to them with Clear Signs: then, to those who transgressed, We meted out Retribution: and it was due from Us to aid those who believed.

And if they reject thee, so did their predecessors, to whom came their messengers with Clear Signs, Books of dark prophecies, and the Book of Enlightenment.

That was because there came to them their messengers with Clear (Signs), but they rejected them: So Allah called them to account: for He is Full of Strength, Strict in Punishment.

A believer, a man from among the people of Pharaoh, who had concealed his faith, said: "Will ye slay a man because he says, 'My Lord is Allah'?- when he has indeed come to you with Clear (Signs) from your Lord? and if he be a liar, on him is (the sin of) his lie: but, if he is telling the Truth, then will fall on you something of the (calamity) of which he warns you: Truly Allah guides not one who transgresses and lies!

"And to you there came Joseph in times gone by, with Clear Signs, but ye ceased not to doubt of the (Mission) for which he had come: At length, when he died, ye said: 'No messenger will Allah send after him.' thus doth Allah leave to stray such as transgress and live in doubt,-

They will say: "Did there not come to you your messengers with Clear Signs?" They will say, "Yes". They will reply, "Then pray (as ye like)! But the prayer of those without Faith is nothing but (futile wandering) in (mazes of) error!"

For when their messengers came to them with Clear Signs, they exulted in such knowledge (and skill) as they had; but that very (Wrath) at which they were wont to scoff hemmed them in.

When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me.

We sent aforetime our messengers with Clear Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance (of Right and Wrong), that men may stand forth in justice; and We sent down Iron, in which is (material for) mighty war, as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will help, Unseen, Him and His messengers: For Allah is Full of Strength, Exalted in Might (and able to enforce His Will).

And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: "O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me, and giving Glad Tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad." But when he came to them with Clear Signs, they said, "this is evident sorcery!"

That was because there came to them messengers with Clear Signs, but they said: "Shall (mere) human beings direct us?" So they rejected (the Message) and turned away. But Allah can do without (them): and Allah is free of all needs, worthy of all praise.

穆萨确已昭示你们许多明证，他离开你们之後，你们却认犊为神，你们是不义的。

他们曾说：“真主确已命令我们不可确信任何使者，直到他昭示火所焚化的供物。”你说：“在我之前，有许多使者已昭示你们许多明证，并昭示你们所请求的；如果你们是诚实的，你们为什么要杀害他们呢?”

如果他们否认你，那么，在你之前，他们确已否认过许多使者，那些使者，曾昭示他们许多明证、典籍，和灿烂的经典。

因此，我对以色列的后裔以此为定制：除因复仇或平乱外，凡枉杀一人的，如杀众人；凡救活一人的，如救活众人。我的众使者。确已昭示他们许多迹象。此后，他们中许多人，在地方上确是过分的。

那时，真主将说麦尔彦之子尔撒啊!你当记忆我所赐你和你母亲的恩典。当时，我曾以玄灵扶助你，你在摇篮里，在壮年时，对人说话。当时，我曾教你书法、智慧、《讨拉特》和《引支勒》。当时，你奉我的命令，用泥捏一只像鸟样的东西，你吹气在里面，它就奉我的命令而飞动。你曾奉我的命令而治疗天然盲和大麻疯。你又奉我的命令而使死人复活。当时，我曾阻止以色列的后裔伤害你。当时，你曾昭示他们许多迹象，他们中不信道的人说：“这只是明显的魔术。”

这些城市，我已把它们的部分故事告诉了你。各民族的使者，确已用许多明证昭示本族的人；但他们不会相信自己以前所否认的。真主就这样封闭不信道者的心。

在他们以前逝去的民族，有努哈的宗族，阿德人和赛莫德人，易卜拉欣的宗族，麦德彦的居民和被倾覆的城市的居民，难道那些人的消息没有来临他们吗？那些人的使者们昭示他们许多明证，故真主不致于亏枉他们，但他们自欺了。

在你们之前曾有许多世代，他们族中的使者既昭示了他们许多明证，而他们仍行不义，不肯信道，我就毁灭了他们，我这样报应犯罪的民众。

在他之后，我曾派遣许多使者，去教化他们自己的宗族。他们曾用许多明证昭示他们，但他们不会相信自己以前所否认的东西。我这样封闭过分者的心。

你们以前的民族--努哈的宗族、阿德人、赛莫德人和他们以后的人，只有真主能知道他们--难道这等人的消息没有来临你们吗？他们族中的使者昭示他们许多明证，但他们把自己的手指插入口内，说：“我们必定不信你们所奉的使命，我们对于你们所宣传的事情，确是在使人不安的疑惑之中。”

（我曾派遣他们）带著一些明证和经典，（去教化众人），我降示你教诲，以便你对众人阐明他们所受的启示，以便他们思维。

（我曾毁灭）戈伦、法老和哈曼。穆萨曾昭示他们许多明证，但他们在地方上自大，他们未能逃避天谴。

难道他们没有在大地上旅行而观察前人的结局是怎样的吗？前人比他们努力更大，前人于地方的恳植和建设，胜过他们。他们族中的使者来临他们，真主不致亏枉他们，但他们亏枉了自己，

在你之前，我确已派遣了许多使者，去教化他们的宗族，那些使者就昭示他们许多明证，然后，我惩治犯罪的人。援助信士，原是我的责任。

如果他们否认你，那末，在他们之前逝去者，已否认了；他们族中的使者曾昭示他们明证、天经和灿烂的经典。

那是因为我的众使者曾带着许多明证来临他们，但他们不归信，故真主惩罚了他们。他确是至刚的。他的刑罚确是严厉的，

法老族中一个秘密归信的信士说：“一个人把从你们的主发出的明证昭示你们，并说'我的主是真主'，你们就要杀戮他吗？如果他是一个说谎者，那末，他自受谎言之害；如果他是一个诚实者，那末，他所用以恫吓你们的灾难，将有一部分来临你们，真主必定不引导过分的常说谎言者。

以前，优素福确已将许多明证昭示你们，但你们对他所昭示你们的明证，依然在疑惑中，直到他死去的时候，你们还说：‘在他之后，真主绝不会再派遣任何使者了。'真主这样使过分的怀疑者迷误。”

他们说：“难道你们族中的使者，没有昭示你们若干明证吗？”他们说：“不然！”天神们说：“你们祈祷吧！但不信道者的祈祷只在迷误中。”

当他们族中的众使者昭示他们许多明证的时候，他们因自己所有的学问而洋洋得意，他们所嘲笑的刑罚，遂降临他们。

当尔撒带着许多明证来临的时候，他说：“我确已把智慧带来给你们，以便我为你们解释你们所争论的一部分律例。故你们应当敬畏真主，应当服从我。

我确已派遣我的众使者，去传达我的许多明证，并降示天经和公平，以便众人谨守公道。我曾创造钢铁，其中有严厉的刑罚，对于众人，有许多裨益；以便真主知道在秘密中相助他和他的众使者的人。真主确是至刚的，确是万能的。

当时，麦尔彦之子尔撒曾说：“以色列的後裔啊！我确是真主派来教化你们的使者，他派我来证实在我之前的《讨拉特》，并且以在我之後诞生的使者，名叫艾哈默德的，向你们报喜。”当他已昭示他们许多明证的时候，他们说：“这是明显的魔术。”

这是因为他们族中的使者显示他们许多明证，他们却说：“难道凡人也能引道我们？”故他们不信道而违背之。真主曾表示无求於他们的信仰，真主是无求的，是可颂的。
