And remember ye said: "O Moses! we cannot endure one kind of food (always); so beseech thy Lord for us to produce for us of what the earth groweth, -its pot-herbs, and cucumbers, Its garlic, lentils, and onions." He said: "Will ye exchange the better for the worse? Go ye down to any town, and ye shall find what ye want!" They were covered with humiliation and misery; they drew on themselves the wrath of Allah. This because they went on rejecting the Signs of Allah and slaying His Messengers without just cause. This because they rebelled and went on transgressing.

Those who devour usury will not stand except as stand one whom the Evil one by his touch Hath driven to madness. That is because they say: "Trade is like usury," but Allah hath permitted trade and forbidden usury. Those who after receiving direction from their Lord, desist, shall be pardoned for the past; their case is for Allah (to judge); but those who repeat (The offence) are companions of the Fire: They will abide therein (for ever).

This because they say: "The Fire shall not touch us but for a few numbered days": For their forgeries deceive them as to their own religion.

Among the People of the Book are some who, if entrusted with a hoard of gold, will (readily) pay it back; others, who, if entrusted with a single silver coin, will not repay it unless thou constantly stoodest demanding, because, they say, "there is no call on us (to keep faith) with these ignorant (Pagans)." but they tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it.

Shame is pitched over them (Like a tent) wherever they are found, except when under a covenant (of protection) from Allah and from men; they draw on themselves wrath from Allah, and pitched over them is (the tent of) destitution. This because they rejected the Signs of Allah, and slew the prophets in defiance of right; this because they rebelled and transgressed beyond bounds.

When ye proclaim your call to prayer they take it (but) as mockery and sport; that is because they are a people without understanding.

So We exacted retribution from them: We drowned them in the sea, because they rejected Our Signs and failed to take warning from them.

Those who behave arrogantly on the earth in defiance of right - them will I turn away from My signs: Even if they see all the signs, they will not believe in them; and if they see the way of right conduct, they will not adopt it as the way; but if they see the way of error, that is the way they will adopt. For they have rejected our signs, and failed to take warning from them.

This because they contended against Allah and His Messenger: If any contend against Allah and His Messenger, Allah is strict in punishment.

O Prophet! rouse the Believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, they will vanquish a thousand of the Unbelievers: for these are a people without understanding.

If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure. That is because they are men without knowledge.

Make ye no excuses: ye have rejected Faith after ye had accepted it. If We pardon some of you, We will punish others amongst you, for that they are in sin.

Whether thou ask for their forgiveness, or not, (their sin is unforgivable): if thou ask seventy times for their forgiveness, Allah will not forgive them: because they have rejected Allah and His Messenger: and Allah guideth not those who are perversely rebellious.

It was not fitting for the people of Medina and the Bedouin Arabs of the neighbourhood, to refuse to follow Allah's Messenger, nor to prefer their own lives to his: because nothing could they suffer or do, but was reckoned to their credit as a deed of righteousness,- whether they suffered thirst, or fatigue, or hunger, in the cause of Allah, or trod paths to raise the ire of the Unbelievers, or received any injury whatever from an enemy: for Allah suffereth not the reward to be lost of those who do good;-

Whenever there cometh down a Sura, they look at each other, (saying), "Doth anyone see you?" Then they turn aside: Allah hath turned their hearts (from the light); for they are a people that understand not.

That is their recompense, because they rejected Our signs, and said, "When we are reduced to bones and broken dust, should we really be raised up (to be) a new Creation?"

To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged;- and verily, Allah is most powerful for their aid;-

That was because there came to them their messengers with Clear (Signs), but they rejected them: So Allah called them to account: for He is Full of Strength, Strict in Punishment.

That is because they hate the Revelation of Allah; so He has made their deeds fruitless.

This, because they said to those who hate what Allah has revealed, "We will obey you in part of (this) matter"; but Allah knows their (inner) secrets.

That is because they resisted Allah and His Messenger: and if any one resists Allah, verily Allah is severe in Punishment.

Of a truth ye are stronger (than they) because of the terror in their hearts, (sent) by Allah. This is because they are men devoid of understanding.

They will not fight you (even) together, except in fortified townships, or from behind walls. Strong is their fighting (spirit) amongst themselves: thou wouldst think they were united, but their hearts are divided: that is because they are a people devoid of wisdom.

That is because they believed, then they rejected Faith: So a seal was set on their hearts: therefore they understand not.

当时，你们说：“穆萨啊！专吃一样食物，我们绝不能忍受，所以请你替我们请求你的主，为我们生出大地所产的蔬菜──黄瓜、大蒜、扁豆和玉葱。”他说：“难道你们要以较贵的换取较贱的吗？你们到一座城里去吧！你们必得自己所请求的食物。”他们陷於卑贱和穷困中，他们应受真主的谴怒。这是因为他们不信真主的迹象，而且枉杀众先知；这又是因为他们违抗主命，超越法度。

吃利息的人，要象中了魔的人一样，疯疯癫癫地站起来。这是因为他们说：“买卖恰象利息。”真主准许买卖，而禁止利息。奉到主的教训後，就遵守禁令的，得已往不咎，他的事归真主判决。再犯的人，是火狱的居民，他们将永居其中。

这是因为他们说：“火绝不接触我们，除非若干有数的日子。”他们所捏造的，在他们的宗教方面，已欺骗了他们。

信奉天经的人中有这样的人：如果你托付他一千两黄金，他会交给还你；他们中也有这样的人：如果你托付他一枚金币，他也许不交还你，除非你一再追究它。这是因为他们说：“我们不为不识字的人而受处分。”他们明知故犯地假借真主的名义而造遥。

他们无论在那里出现，都要陷于卑贱之中，除非借真主的和约与众人的和约不能安居，他们应受真主的谴怒，他们要陷于困苦之中。这是因为他们不信真主的迹象，而且枉杀众先知，这又是因为他们违抗主命，超越法度。

当你们召人来礼拜的时候，他们以你们的拜功为笑柄，为嬉戏。这是因为他们是不了解的民众。

于是，我惩治了他们，使他们沉沦在海里，因为他们否认我的迹象，并且忽视它。

我将使那些在地方上妄自尊大的人离弃我的迹象，即使他们看见一切迹象，他们也不信它；如果他们看见正道，他们不把它当作道路；如果他们看见邪道，他们把它当作道路。这是因为他们不信我的迹象，而且忽视它。

这是因为他们违抗真主及其使者。谁违抗真主及其使者，真主就严惩谁。

先知啊！你应当鼓励信士们奋勇抗战，如果你们中有二十个坚忍的人，就能战胜二百个敌人；如果你们中有一百个人，就能战胜一千个不信道的人；因为不信道者是不精明的民众。

以物配主者当中如果有人求你保护，你应当保护他，直到他听到真主的言语，然后把他送到安全的地方。这是因为他们是无知的民众。

你们不要托辞；你们信道之后确已不信了，如果我饶恕你们中的一伙人，我将要惩治你们中的另一伙人，因为他们是犯罪的人。

你可以替他们求饶，也可以不替他们求饶。即使你替他们求饶七十次，真主也不会饶恕他们。因为他们不信真主及其使者。真主是不引导放肆的民众的。

麦地那人和他们四周的游牧的阿拉伯人，不该逗留在后方，而不随使者出征；不该只顾自己的安逸，而不与使者共患难。因为凡他们为真主而遭遇的饥渴和劳顿，他们触怒不信道者的每一步伐，或每次对敌人有所获，每有一件就必为他们记一功，真主一定不使行善者徒劳无酬。

当降示一章经的时候，他们面面相觑（说）：“有人看见你们吗？”然后，他们就溜走了。真主已改变他们的心，因为他们是不理解的民众。

这是他们的报酬，因为他们不信我的迹象，并且说：“我们变成枯骨和尘土后，难道我们一定会被复活成新人吗？”

被进攻者，已获得反抗的许可，因为他们是受压迫的。 真主对于援助他们，确是全能的。

那是因为我的众使者曾带着许多明证来临他们，但他们不归信，故真主惩罚了他们。他确是至刚的。他的刑罚确是严厉的，

那是因为他们厌恶真主所降示的经典，故他将使他们的善功无效。

那是因为他们曾对那些厌恶真主所降示的迹象者说：“对于一部分的事情，我们将顺从你们。”真主知道他们的隐情。

这是由于他们违抗真主和使者。凡违抗真主者，真主必定惩罚他，因为真主的刑罚确是严厉的。

你们在他们的胸中确是比真主还可怕的，那是因为他们是不明理的民众。

他们只在巩固的城市中或在壁垒后共同作战。他们的内争是严重的，你以为他们是团结的，其实，他们的心是涣散的。那是因为他们是不明理的民众。

这是因为他们口称信道，心实不信，他们的心就封闭了，故他们不是明理的。
