Can ye (o ye men of Faith) entertain the hope that they will believe in you?- Seeing that a party of them heard the Word of Allah, and perverted it knowingly after they understood it.

If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure. That is because they are men without knowledge.

Those who lagged behind (will say), when ye (are free to) march and take booty (in war): "Permit us to follow you." They wish to change Allah's decree: Say: "Not thus will ye follow us: Allah has already declared (this) beforehand": then they will say, "But ye are jealous of us." Nay, but little do they understand (such things).

你们还企图他们会为你们的劝化而信道吗？他们当中有一派人，曾听到真主的言语，他们既了解之後，便明知故犯地加以篡改。

以物配主者当中如果有人求你保护，你应当保护他，直到他听到真主的言语，然后把他送到安全的地方。这是因为他们是无知的民众。

留在后方的人们，当你们为获取战利品而出发的时候，他们将说：“让我们跟你们去吧！”他们欲变更真主的判辞。你说：“你们绝对不得跟我们去，以前，真主已这样说过了。”他们将说：“不然，你们嫉妒我们。”不然，他们不甚了解。
