Thou wilt indeed find them, of all people, most greedy of life,-even more than the idolaters: Each one of them wishes He could be given a life of a thousand years: But the grant of such life will not save him from (due) punishment. For Allah sees well all that they do.

Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be the Fire: And evil is the home of the wrong-doers!

Ye shall certainly be tried and tested in your possessions and in your personal selves; and ye shall certainly Hear much that will grieve you, from those who received the Book before you and from those who worship many gods. But if ye persevere patiently, and guard against evil,-then that will be a determining factor in all affairs.

Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant.

One day shall We gather them all together: We shall say to those who ascribed partners (to Us): "Where are the partners whom ye (invented and) talked about?"

This is the guidance of Allah: He giveth that guidance to whom He pleaseth, of His worshippers. If they were to join other gods with Him, all that they did would be vain for them.

If it had been Allah's plan, they would not have taken false gods: but We made thee not one to watch over their doings, nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs.

Those who give partners (to Allah) will say: "If Allah had wished, we should not have given partners to Him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos." So did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say: "Have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture: ye do nothing but lie."

One day shall We gather them all together. Then shall We say to those who joined gods (with Us): "To your place! ye and those ye joined as 'partners' We shall separate them, and their "Partners" shall say: "It was not us that ye worshipped!

The worshippers of false gods say: "If Allah had so willed, we should not have worshipped aught but Him - neither we nor our fathers,- nor should we have prescribed prohibitions other than His." So did those who went before them. But what is the mission of messengers but to preach the Clear Message?

When those who gave partners to Allah will see their "partners", they will say: "Our Lord! these are our 'partners,' those whom we used to invoke besides Thee." But they will throw back their word at them (and say): "Indeed ye are liars!"

Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians, Christians, Magians, and Polytheists,- Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment: for Allah is witness of all things.

你必发现他们比世人还贪生，此那以物配主的还贪生；他们中每个人，都愿享寿千岁，但他们纵享上寿，终不免要受刑罚。真主是明察他们的行为的。

我要把恐怖投在不信道者的心中，因为他们把真主和真主所未证实的（偶像）去配他，他们的归宿是火狱。不义者的归宿真恶劣。

你们在财产方面和身体方面必定要受试验，你们必定要从曾受天经的人和以物配主的人的口里听到许多恶言，如果你们坚忍，而且敬畏，那末，这确是应该决心做的事情。

你必定发现，对于信道者仇恨最深的是犹太教徒和以物配主的人；你必定发现，对于信道者最亲近的是自称基督教徒的人；因为他们当中有许多牧师和僧侣，还因为他们不自大。

在那日，我把他们全体集合起来，然后，我对以物配主的人说：“以前你们所妄称为我的伙伴的，如今在哪里呢？”

这是真主的正道，他以它引导他所欲引导的仆人。假若他们以物配主，那末，他们的善功必定变成无效的。

假若真主意欲，他们必不以物配主。我没有以你为他们的保护者，你也绝不是他们的监护者。

以物配主的人将说：“假若真主意欲，那末，我们和我们的祖先，都不以物配主，我们也不以任何物为禁物。”他们之前的人，曾这样否认（他们族中的使者），直到他们尝试了我的刑罚。你说：“你们有真知灼见，可以拿出来给我们看看吗？你们只凭猜测，尽说谎话。”

在那日，我要把他们全部集合起来，然后，对以物配主的人说：“你们和你们的配主站住吧！”于是，我使他们彼此分离，他们的配主要说：“你们没有崇拜过我们，

以物配主者说：“假若真主意欲，则我们和我们的祖先不会舍他而崇拜任何物的，我们也不会擅自戒除任何物的。”在他们之前的人，曾这样做过了。使者们只负明白的传达的责任。

当以物配主者看见他们的配主的时候，他们将要说：“我们的主啊！这些是我们的配主，我们曾舍你而祈祷他们。”那些配主将回答他们说：“你们确是说谎的。”

信道者、犹太教徒、拜星教徒、基督教徒、拜火教徒，以及以物配主者，复活日真主必定要为他们判决，真主确是万物的见证。
