And they say: "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." Those are their (vain) desires. Say: "Produce your proof if ye are truthful."

They say: "Become Jews or Christians if ye would be guided (To salvation)." Say thou: "Nay! (I would rather) the Religion of Abraham the True, and he joined not gods with Allah."

Or do ye say that Abraham, Isma'il Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes were Jews or Christians? Say: Do ye know better than Allah? Ah! who is more unjust than those who conceal the testimony they have from Allah? but Allah is not unmindful of what ye do!

From those, too, who call themselves Christians, We did take a covenant, but they forgot a good part of the message that was sent them: so we estranged them, with enmity and hatred between the one and the other, to the day of judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done.

Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant.

他们说：“除犹太教徒和基督教徒外，别的人绝不得入乐园。”这是他们的妄想。你说：“如果你们是诚实的，那末，你们拿出证据来吧！”

他们说：“你们应当变成犹太教徒和基督教徒，你们才能获得正道。”你说：“不然，我们遵循崇奉正教的易卜拉欣的宗教，他不是以物配主者。”

难道你们说过”易卜拉欣、易司马仪、易司哈格、叶尔孤白和各支派，都是犹太教徒，或基督教徒吗？”你说：“你们更有知识呢？还是真主更有知识呢？自己手中有从真主降示的证据，而加以隐讳的人，有谁比他还不义呢？真主绝不忽视你们的行为。”

自称基督教徒的人，我曾与他们缔约，但他们抛弃自己所受的一部分劝戒，故我使他们互相仇恨，至于复活日。那时，真主要把他们的行为告诉他们。

你必定发现，对于信道者仇恨最深的是犹太教徒和以物配主的人；你必定发现，对于信道者最亲近的是自称基督教徒的人；因为他们当中有许多牧师和僧侣，还因为他们不自大。
