They say: "Become Jews or Christians if ye would be guided (To salvation)." Say thou: "Nay! (I would rather) the Religion of Abraham the True, and he joined not gods with Allah."

Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian; but he was true in Faith, and bowed his will to Allah's (Which is Islam), and he joined not gods with Allah.

Say: "Allah speaketh the Truth: follow the religion of Abraham, the sane in faith; he was not of the Pagans."

Who can be better in religion than one who submits his whole self to Allah, does good, and follows the way of Abraham the true in Faith? For Allah did take Abraham for a friend.

"For me, I have set my face, firmly and truly, towards Him Who created the heavens and the earth, and never shall I give partners to Allah."

Say: "Verily, my Lord hath guided me to a way that is straight,- a religion of right,- the path (trod) by Abraham the true in Faith, and he (certainly) joined not gods with Allah."

"And further (thus): 'set thy face towards religion with true piety, and never in any wise be of the Unbelievers;

Abraham was indeed a model, devoutly obedient to Allah, (and) true in Faith, and he joined not gods with Allah:

So We have taught thee the inspired (Message), "Follow the ways of Abraham the True in Faith, and he joined not gods with Allah."

So set thou thy face steadily and truly to the Faith: (establish) Allah's handiwork according to the pattern on which He has made mankind: no change (let there be) in the work (wrought) by Allah: that is the standard Religion: but most among mankind understand not.

他们说：“你们应当变成犹太教徒和基督教徒，你们才能获得正道。”你说：“不然，我们遵循崇奉正教的易卜拉欣的宗教，他不是以物配主者。”

易卜拉欣既不是犹太教徒，也不是基督教徒。他是一个崇信正教、归顺真主的人，他不是以物配主的人。

你说：“真主所说的是实话，故你们应当遵守崇奉正教的易卜拉欣的宗教，他不是以物配主的。”

全体归顺真主，且乐善好施，并遵守崇正的易卜拉欣的宗教的，宗教方面，有谁比他更优美呢？真主曾把易卜拉欣当做至交。

我确已崇正地专向天地的创造者，我不是以物配主的人。”

你说：“我的主己指引我一条正路，即正教，崇正的易卜拉欣的宗教。他不是以物配主的人。”

并（奉命说）：”你应当趋向正教，你切莫做一个以物配主的人，

易卜拉欣原来是一个表率，他服从真主，信奉正教，而且不是以物配主的。

然后，我启示你说：“你应当遵守信奉正教的易卜拉欣的宗教，他不是以物配主的。”

你应当趋向正教，（并谨守）真主所赋予人的本性。真主所创造的，是不容变更的；这才是正教，但人们大半不知道。
