Thenceforth were your hearts hardened: They became like a rock and even worse in hardness. For among rocks there are some from which rivers gush forth; others there are which when split asunder send forth water; and others which sink for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unmindful of what ye do.

Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord;

Had We sent down this Qur'an on a mountain, verily, thou wouldst have seen it humble itself and cleave asunder for fear of Allah. Such are the similitudes which We propound to men, that they may reflect.

此後，你们的心变硬了，变得像石头一样，或比石头还硬。有些石头，河水从其中涌出；有些石头，自己破裂，而水泉从其中流出；有些石头为惧怕真主而坠落。真主绝不忽视你们的行为。

为敬畏主而恐惧者，

假若我把这部《古兰经》降示一座山，你必定看见那座山因畏惧真主而成为柔和的，崩溃的。这些譬喻，是我为众人而设的，以便他们省悟。
