They said,
'Pray
for us
(to) your Lord
to make clear
to us
what
it (is).'
He said,
'Indeed, He
says,
'[Indeed] it
(is) a cow
not
old
and not
young,
middle aged
between
that,'
so do
what
you are commanded.'
They said,
'Pray
for us
(to) your Lord
to make clear
to us
what
(is) its color.'
He said,
'Indeed, He
says,
'[Indeed] it is
a cow
yellow,
bright
(in) its color,
pleasing
(to) those who see (it).'
They said,
'Pray
for us
(to) your Lord
to make clear
to us
what
it (is).
Indeed,
[the] cows
look alike
to us.
And indeed we,
if
wills Allah,
(will) surely be [those who are] guided.'
And when
fell
on them
the punishment
they said,
`O Musa!
Invoke
for us
your Lord
by what
He has promised
to you.
If
you remove
from us
the punishment
surely, we will believe
[for] you
and surely, we will send
with you
the Children
of Israel.`
Call
to
(the) way
(of) your Lord
with the wisdom
and the instruction
the good,
and argue with them
in that
which
(is) best.
Indeed,
your Lord,
He
(is) most knowing
of who
has strayed
from
His way,
And He
(is) most knowing
of the guided ones.
And they said,
'O
[the] magiciant
invoke
for us
your Lord
by what
He has made covenatn
with you.
Indeed, we
(will) surely be guided.'
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what (heifer) it is!" He said; "He says: The heifer should be neither too old nor too young, but of middling age. Now do what ye are commanded!"
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us Her colour." He said: "He says: A fawn-coloured heifer, pure and rich in tone, the admiration of beholders!"
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what she is: To us are all heifers alike: We wish indeed for guidance, if Allah wills."
Every time the penalty fell on them, they said: "O Moses! on your behalf call on thy Lord in virtue of his promise to thee: If thou wilt remove the penalty from us, we shall truly believe in thee, and we shall send away the Children of Israel with thee."
Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance.
And they said, "O thou sorcerer! Invoke thy Lord for us according to His covenant with thee; for we shall truly accept guidance."
他们说：“请你替我们请求你的主为我们说明那头牛的情状。”他说：“我的主说：那头牛确是不老不少，年龄适中的。你们遵命而行吧！”
他们说：“请你替我们请求你的主为我们说明那头牛的毛色。”他说“我的主说：那头牛毛色纯黄，见者喜悦。”
他们说：“请你替我们请求你的主为我们说明那头牛的情状，因为在我们看来，牛都是相似的，如果真主意欲，我们必获指导。”
当他们遭遇天灾的时候，他们说：“穆萨啊！你的主与你有约在先，请你祈祷他，如果你能替我们消除天灾，那末，我们就一定信仰你，一定释放以色列的后裔，让他们同你去。”
你应凭智慧和善言而劝人遵循主道，你应当以最优秀的态度与人辩论，你的主的确知道谁是背离他的正道的，他的确知道谁是遵循他的正道的。
他们曾说：“术士啊！请你为我们祈祷你的主，因为他曾与你订约的缘故，我们必定要遵循正道。”
