Were ye witnesses when death appeared before Jacob? Behold, he said to his sons: "What will ye worship after me?" They said: "We shall worship Thy god and the god of thy fathers, of Abraham, Isma'il and Isaac,- the one (True) Allah: To Him we bow (in Islam)."

They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One Allah: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him).

"This day plead not for a single destruction: plead for destruction oft-repeated!"

"Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!"

For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad!

当叶尔孤白临死的时候，你们在埸吗？当时，他对他的儿子们说：“我死之後，你们将崇拜甚麽？”他们说：“我们将崇拜你所崇拜的，和你的祖先易卜拉欣、易司马仪、易司哈格所崇拜的──独一的主宰──我们只归顺他。”

他们舍真主而把他们的博士、僧侣和麦尔彦之子麦西哈当做主宰。他们所奉的命令只是崇拜独一的主宰，除他之外，绝无应受崇拜的。赞颂真主超乎他们所用来配他的！

今天你们不要哀求一死，你们当哀求多死。

难道他要将许多神灵变成一个神灵吗？这确是一件怪事。”

故他们说：“我们同族的一个凡人，我们能顺从他吗？如果那样，我们必定陷于迷误和疯狂之中。
