All that they said was: "Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and anything We may have done that transgressed our duty: Establish our feet firmly, and help us against those that resist Faith."

Behold, the youths betook themselves to the Cave: they said, "Our Lord! bestow on us Mercy from Thyself, and dispose of our affair for us in the right way!"

"But whoever believes, and works righteousness,- he shall have a goodly reward, and easy will be his task as We order it by our Command."

And to Solomon (We made) the Wind (obedient): Its early morning (stride) was a month's (journey), and its evening (stride) was a month's (journey); and We made a Font of molten brass to flow for him; and there were Jinns that worked in front of him, by the leave of his Lord, and if any of them turned aside from our command, We made him taste of the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.

And thus have We, by Our Command, sent inspiration to thee: thou knewest not (before) what was Revelation, and what was Faith; but We have made the (Qur'an) a Light, wherewith We guide such of Our servants as We will; and verily thou dost guide (men) to the Straight Way,-

他们没有别的话，只说：“我们的主啊！求你赦宥我们的罪恶，和我们的过失，求你坚定我们的步伐，求你援助我们以对抗不信道的民众。”

当时，有几个青年避居山洞中，他们说：“我们的主啊！求你把你那里的恩惠赏赐我们，求你使我们的事业完全端正。”

至于信道而且行善者，将享受最优厚的报酬，我将命令他做简易的事情。”

我曾使风供素莱曼的驱使，风在上午走一月的路程，在下午也走一月的路程。我为他使熔铜象泉水样涌出。有些精灵奉主的命令在他的面前工作；谁违背了我的命令，我就使谁尝试烈火的刑罚。

我这样启示你从我的命令中发出的精神。你本来不知道天经是什么，正信是什么；但我以天经为光明，而借此光明引导我所欲引导的仆人。你确是指示正路者。
