Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant.

Can he who was dead, to whom We gave life, and a light whereby he can walk amongst men, be like him who is in the depths of darkness, from which he can never come out? Thus to those without faith their own deeds seem pleasing.

Said Moses: "Throw ye (first)." So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them: for they showed a great (feat of) magic.

(Allah) said: "O Moses! I have chosen thee above (other) men, by the mission I (have given thee) and the words I (have spoken to thee): take then the (revelation) which I give thee, and be of those who give thanks."

They ask thee about the (final) Hour - when will be its appointed time? Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (alone): None but He can reveal as to when it will occur. Heavy were its burden through the heavens and the earth. Only, all of a sudden will it come to you." They ask thee as if thou Wert eager in search thereof: Say: "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (alone), but most men know not."

And be not like those who started from their homes insolently and to be seen of men, and to hinder (men) from the path of Allah: For Allah compasseth round about all that they do.

Remember Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them, and said: "No one among men can overcome you this day, while I am near to you": But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he turned on his heels, and said: "Lo! I am clear of you; lo! I see what ye see not; Lo! I fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment."

And an announcement from Allah and His Messenger, to the people (assembled) on the day of the Great Pilgrimage,- that Allah and His Messenger dissolve (treaty) obligations with the Pagans. If then, ye repent, it were best for you; but if ye turn away, know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah. And proclaim a grievous penalty to those who reject Faith.

O ye who believe! there are indeed many among the priests and anchorites, who in Falsehood devour the substance of men and hinder (them) from the way of Allah. And there are those who bury gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah: announce unto them a most grievous penalty-

And what think those who invent lies against Allah, of the Day of Judgment? Verily Allah is full of bounty to mankind, but most of them are ungrateful.

"This day shall We save thee in the body, that thou mayest be a sign to those who come after thee! but verily, many among mankind are heedless of Our Signs!"

Can they be (like) those who accept a Clear (Sign) from their Lord, and whom a witness from Himself doth teach, as did the Book of Moses before it,- a guide and a mercy? They believe therein; but those of the Sects that reject it,- the Fire will be their promised meeting-place. Be not then in doubt thereon: for it is the truth from thy Lord: yet many among men do not believe!

The man in Egypt who bought him, said to his wife: "Make his stay (among us) honourable: may be he will bring us much good, or we shall adopt him as a son." Thus did We establish Joseph in the land, that We might teach him the interpretation of stories (and events). And Allah hath full power and control over His affairs; but most among mankind know it not.

"And I follow the ways of my fathers,- Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and never could we attribute any partners whatever to Allah: that (comes) of the grace of Allah to us and to mankind: yet most men are not grateful.

And when they entered in the manner their father had enjoined, it did not profit them in the least against (the plan of) Allah: It was but a necessity of Jacob's soul, which he discharged. For he was, by our instruction, full of knowledge (and experience): but most men know not.

Yet no faith will the greater part of mankind have, however ardently thou dost desire it.

A.L.M.R. These are the signs (or verses) of the Book: that which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord is the Truth; but most men believe not.

"O my Lord! they have indeed led astray many among mankind; He then who follows my (ways) is of me, and he that disobeys me,- but Thou art indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

"O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in a valley without cultivation, by Thy Sacred House; in order, O our Lord, that they may establish regular Prayer: so fill the hearts of some among men with love towards them, and feed them with fruits: so that they may give thanks.

They swear their strongest oaths by Allah, that Allah will not raise up those who die: Nay, but it is a promise (binding) on Him in truth: but most among mankind realise it not.

And We have explained to man, in this Qur'an, every kind of similitude: yet the greater part of men refuse (to receive it) except with ingratitude!

(It is) a Qur'an which We have divided (into parts from time to time), in order that thou mightest recite it to men at intervals: We have revealed it by stages.

They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may bear witness."

And yet among men there are such as dispute about Allah, without knowledge, and follow every evil one obstinate in rebellion!

Yet there is among men such a one as disputes about Allah, without Knowledge, without Guidance, and without a Book of Enlightenment,-

There are among men some who serve Allah, as it were, on the verge: if good befalls them, they are, therewith, well content; but if a trial comes to them, they turn on their faces: they lose both this world and the Hereafter: that is loss for all to see!

Seest thou not that to Allah bow down in worship all things that are in the heavens and on earth,- the sun, the moon, the stars; the hills, the trees, the animals; and a great number among mankind? But a great number are (also) such as are fit for Punishment: and such as Allah shall disgrace,- None can raise to honour: for Allah carries out all that He wills.

你必定发现，对于信道者仇恨最深的是犹太教徒和以物配主的人；你必定发现，对于信道者最亲近的是自称基督教徒的人；因为他们当中有许多牧师和僧侣，还因为他们不自大。

一个人，原是死的，但我使他复活，并给他一道光明，带著在人间行走，难道他与那在重重黑暗中绝不走入光明的人是一样的吗？不信道的人，这样为他们的行为所迷惑。

他说：“你们先抛吧！”当他们抛下去时，（变出的大蛇）眩惑了众人的眼睛，而且使人们恐怖。他们施展了大魔术。

主说：“穆萨啊！我确已借我的使命和面谕而将你选拔在众人之上了，你要接受我所赐你的恩惠，并当感谢我。”

他们问你复活在什么时候实现，你说：“只有我的主知道，他将在什么时候实现。”你说：“只有我的主知道那个时候，只有他能在预定的时候显示它。它在天地间是重大的，它将突然降临你们。”他们问你，好像你对于它是很熟悉的，你说：“只有真主知道它在什么时候实现，但众人大半不知道（这个道理）。”

你们不要仿效那等人，他们骄傲自满地、沽名钓誉地从家乡出去，并阻止别人遵循真主的大道。真主是洞察他们的行为的。

当时，恶魔以他们的行为蛊惑他们，他说：“今天，任何人不能战胜你们，我确是你们的保护者。”当两军对垒的时候，他向后转，他说：“我与你们确是无干的，我的确能看见你们所不能看见的，我的确畏惧真主。真主的刑罚是严厉的。”

（这是）从真主及其使者在大朝之日传示众人的通告：真主及其使者对于以物配主者是无干的。如果你们悔过，那对于你们是更好的，如果你们背离，那末，须知你们不能逃避真主的谴责。你以痛苦的刑罚向不信道者报喜吧。

信道的人们啊！有许多博士和僧侣，的确借诈术而侵吞别人的财产，并且阻止别人走真主的大道。窖藏金银，而不用于主道者，你应当以痛苦的刑罚向他们报喜。

假借真主的名义而造谣的人们在复活日将作何猜想呢？真主对人们，确是有恩惠的，但他们大半不感谢。

但今日我拯救你的遗体，以便你做后来者的鉴戒。多数的人，对于我的鉴戒，确是忽视的。

难道这等人还不如别的人吗？他们依据从他们的主降示的明证，而且他们的主所派遣的见证已继那明证而来临，在那明证之前还有穆萨的经典，那是真主所降赐的指南和慈恩。这等人是坚信那明证的。各党派中谁不信那明证，火狱将是谁的约定的地方。所以你们不要怀疑它，它确是你的主所降示的真理，但人们大半不信。

那购买他的埃及人对自己的妻子说：“你应当优待他，他也许对我们有好处，或者我们抚养他做义子。”我这样使优素福在大地上获得地位，以便我教他圆梦。真主对于其事务是自主的，但人们大半不知道。

我遵循我的祖先--易卜拉欣、易司哈格、叶尔孤白的宗教。我们不该以任何物配真主，这是真主施于我们和世人的恩惠，但世人大半不感谢。

你们舍真主而崇拜的，只是你们和你们的祖先所定的一些（偶像的）名称，真主并未加以证实，一切判决只归真主。他命令你们只崇拜他。这才是正教。但世人大半不知道。

”优素福，忠实的人呀！请你为我们圆圆这个梦，七头胖黄牛，被七头瘦黄牛吃掉了，又有七穗青麦子，和七穗乾麦子。我好回去告诉人们，让他们知道这个梦的意义。”

当他们遵照他们父亲的命令而进城的时候，他对于真主的判决没有丝毫裨益，但那是叶尔孤白心中的一种希望。他已把它表白出来。他曾受我的教诲，所以他确是有知识的，但世人大半不知道。

你虽然切望世人信道，但他们大半是不信道的。

艾列弗，俩目，米目，拉仪。这些是天经的节文。从你的主降示于你的经典，确是真实的，但众人大半不信。

我的主啊！偶像们确已使许多人迷误。谁顺从我，他确是我的同道；谁违抗我，那末，你是至赦的，是至慈的。

我们的主啊！我确已使我的部分后裔住在一个没有庄稼的山谷里，住在你的禁房附近--我们的主啊！--以便他们谨守拜功，求你使一部分人的心依恋他们，求你以一部分果实供给他们，以便他们感谢。

他们指真主而发出最严重的誓言，说：“真主不使死人复活。”不然！这是他应当实践的诺言。但世人大半不知道。

在这部《古兰经》里，我为众人确已申述各种比喻，但众人大半不信。

这是一部《古兰经》，我使它意义明白，以便你从容不迫地对众人宣读它；我逐渐地降示它。

他们说：“你们把他拿到众人面前，以便他们作证。”

有人无知地进行关于真主的争论，并且顺从叛逆的恶魔。

有人争论真主，但他既无知识，又无指导，且无灿烂的经典。

有人在边缘上崇拜真主，若获福利，他就安然享受；若遭祸害， 他就轻率背叛。他将丧失今世和后世，这是明显的亏损。

你难道不知道吗？在天上的和在地上的，与日月群星，山岳树木，牲畜和许多人，都服从真主，有许多人当受刑罚。真主凌辱谁，谁不受人尊敬。真主确是为所欲为的。（此处叩头！）※
