"If thou dost stretch thy hand against me, to slay me, it is not for me to stretch my hand against thee to slay thee: for I do fear Allah, the cherisher of the worlds.

Say: "I would, if I disobeyed my Lord, indeed have fear of the penalty of a Mighty Day.

His people disputed with him. He said: "(Come) ye to dispute with me, about Allah, when He (Himself) hath guided me? I fear not (the beings) ye associate with Allah: Unless my Lord willeth, (nothing can happen). My Lord comprehendeth in His knowledge all things. Will ye not (yourselves) be admonished?

"How should I fear (the beings) ye associate with Allah, when ye fear not to give partners to Allah without any warrant having been given to you? Which of (us) two parties hath more right to security? (tell me) if ye know.

We sent Noah to his people. He said: "O my people! worship Allah! ye have no other god but Him. I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful day!

Remember Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them, and said: "No one among men can overcome you this day, while I am near to you": But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he turned on his heels, and said: "Lo! I am clear of you; lo! I see what ye see not; Lo! I fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment."

But when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed unto them, those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, Say: "Bring us a reading other than this, or change this," Say: "It is not for me, of my own accord, to change it: I follow naught but what is revealed unto me: if I were to disobey my Lord, I should myself fear the penalty of a Great Day (to come)."

"(And to preach thus), 'Seek ye the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance; that He may grant you enjoyment, good (and true), for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding grace on all who abound in merit! But if ye turn away, then I fear for you the penalty of a great day:

"That ye serve none but Allah: Verily I do fear for you the penalty of a grievous day."

To the Madyan People (We sent) Shu'aib, one of their own brethren: he said: "O my people! worship Allah: Ye have no other god but Him. And give not short measure or weight: I see you in prosperity, but I fear for you the penalty of a day that will compass (you) all round.

"O my father! I fear lest a Penalty afflict thee from (Allah) Most Gracious, so that thou become to Satan a friend."

He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood:

"Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day."

"And my brother Aaron - He is more eloquent in speech than I: so send him with me as a helper, to confirm (and strengthen) me: for I fear that they may accuse me of falsehood."

Say: "I would, if I disobeyed my Lord, indeed have fear of the Penalty of a Mighty Day."

Said Pharaoh: "Leave me to slay Moses; and let him call on his Lord! What I fear is lest he should change your religion, or lest he should cause mischief to appear in the land!"

Then said the man who believed: "O my people! Truly I do fear for you something like the Day (of disaster) of the Confederates (in sin)!-

"And O my people! I fear for you a Day when there will be Mutual calling (and wailing),-

Mention (Hud) one of 'Ad's (own) brethren: Behold, he warned his people about the winding Sand-tracts: but there have been warners before him and after him: "Worship ye none other than Allah: Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Mighty Day."

(Their allies deceived them), like the Evil One, when he says to man, "Deny Allah": but when (man) denies Allah, (the Evil One) says, "I am free of thee: I do fear Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!"

如果你伸手来杀我，我绝不伸手去杀你；我的确畏惧真主--全世界的主。

你说：“如果我违抗我的主，我的确畏惧重大日的刑罚。”

他的宗族和他争论，他说：“真主确已引导我，而你们和我争论真主吗？我对于你们用来配主的（偶像），毫无畏惧，除非我的主要我畏惧。我的主的知觉能容万物。难道你们不觉悟吗！

你们把真主和他所未证实的（偶像）去配他，还无所畏惧，我怎么会畏惧你们所用来配主的（偶像）呢！如果你们有知识，那末，我们这两伙人，究竟是那一伙更应当不畏惧呢？”

我确已派遣努哈去教化他的宗族，他说：“我的宗族啊！你们要崇拜真主，除他之外，绝无应受你们崇拜的。我的确担心你们遭受重大日的刑罚。”

当时，恶魔以他们的行为蛊惑他们，他说：“今天，任何人不能战胜你们，我确是你们的保护者。”当两军对垒的时候，他向后转，他说：“我与你们确是无干的，我的确能看见你们所不能看见的，我的确畏惧真主。真主的刑罚是严厉的。”

有人对他们宣读我的明显的迹象的时候，那些不希望会见我的人说：“请你另拿一部《古兰经》来，或者请你修改这部《古兰经》。”你说：“我不至于擅自修改它。我只能遵从我所受的启示。如果我违抗我的主，我的确畏惧重大日的刑罚。”

你们应当向你们的主求饶，然后，向他悔过，他就使你们获得优美的享受，到一个 限期，并赏赐有美德者以大量的恩惠。如果你们违背正道，那末，我的确担心你们遭受重大日的惩罚。

除真主外，你们不要崇拜任何物。我的确怕你们遭受痛苦日的惩罚。”

我确已派遣麦德彦人的弟兄舒阿卜去教化他们，他说：“我的宗族啊！你们应当崇拜真主，除他外，绝无应受你们崇拜的。你们不要用小斗和小秤，我的确认为你们是昌盛的，我的确怕你们遭受围困日的惩罚。

我的父亲啊！我的确怕你遭受从至仁主发出的刑罚，而变成恶魔的朋友。”

他说：“我的主啊！我的确怕他们否认我，

我的确害怕你们遭受重大日的刑罚。”

我的哥哥哈伦，口才比我好，求你派他同我去，做我的助手，证实我的使命；我的确怕他们否认我。”

你说：“倘若我违抗我的主，我的确畏惧重大日的刑罚。”

法老说：“你们让我杀死穆萨！叫他祈祷他的主去吧！我的确怕他改变你们的宗教，或在国内作乱。”

信道者说：“我的宗族啊！我的确怕你们遭遇前人所遭遇的灾难，

我的宗族啊！我的确为你们担心互相呼叫之日；

你纪念阿德人的弟兄吧！当时，他在沙丘警告他的宗族--在他以前和以后，有许多警告者，确已逝去了--他说：“你们应该只崇拜真主，我的确怕你们遭受重大日的刑罚。”

他们又象恶魔一样。当时，他曾对人说：“你不要信道。”当他不信道的时候，他说：“我确是与你无干的，我的确畏惧真主--全世界的主。”
