And Moses chose seventy of his people for Our place of meeting: when they were seized with violent quaking, he prayed: "O my Lord! if it had been Thy will Thou couldst have destroyed, long before, both them and me: wouldst Thou destroy us for the deeds of the foolish ones among us? this is no more than Thy trial: by it Thou causest whom Thou wilt to stray, and Thou leadest whom Thou wilt into the right path. Thou art our Protector: so forgive us and give us Thy mercy; for Thou art the best of those who forgive.

He will go before his people on the Day of Judgment, and lead them into the Fire (as cattle are led to water): But woeful indeed will be the place to which they are led!

Pharaoh led his people astray instead of leading them aright.

Thus did he make fools of his people, and they obeyed him: truly were they a people rebellious (against Allah).

Mention (Hud) one of 'Ad's (own) brethren: Behold, he warned his people about the winding Sand-tracts: but there have been warners before him and after him: "Worship ye none other than Allah: Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Mighty Day."

穆萨从他的宗族中拣选了七十个人来赴我的约会；当他们为地震所袭击的时候，他说：“我的主啊！假若你意欲，那末，以前你早已毁灭他们和我。难道你要为我们中的愚人的行为而毁灭我们吗？这只是你的考验，你借此使你意欲者误入歧途，使你意欲者走上正道。你是我们的保护者，故求你饶恕我们，慈悯我们。你是最善的饶恕者。

在复活日，法老将引导他的百姓，而将他们引入火狱，他们所进入的那个地方真恶劣。

法老把他的百姓领入歧途，他未将他们引入正路。

他曾鼓动他的百姓，他们就服从他；他们确是悖逆者。

你纪念阿德人的弟兄吧！当时，他在沙丘警告他的宗族--在他以前和以后，有许多警告者，确已逝去了--他说：“你们应该只崇拜真主，我的确怕你们遭受重大日的刑罚。”
