When Our Signs are rehearsed to them, they say: "We have heard this (before): if we wished, we could say (words) like these: these are nothing but tales of the ancients."

But when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed unto them, those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, Say: "Bring us a reading other than this, or change this," Say: "It is not for me, of my own accord, to change it: I follow naught but what is revealed unto me: if I were to disobey my Lord, I should myself fear the penalty of a Great Day (to come)."

When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say to those who believe, "Which of the two sides is best in point of position? Which makes the best show in council?"

(Allah) will say: "Thus didst Thou, when Our Signs came unto thee, disregard them: so wilt thou, this day, be disregarded."

When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, thou wilt notice a denial on the faces of the Unbelievers! they nearly attack with violence those who rehearse Our Signs to them. Say, "Shall I tell you of something (far) worse than these Signs? It is the Fire (of Hell)! Allah has promised it to the Unbelievers! and evil is that destination!"

But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes, they said: "This is sorcery manifest!"

When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one, he turns away in arrogance, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty.

When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, they say, "This is only a man who wishes to hinder you from the (worship) which your fathers practised." And they say, "This is only a falsehood invented!" and the Unbelievers say of the Truth when it comes to them, "This is nothing but evident magic!"

And when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them their argument is nothing but this: They say, "Bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!"

When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say, of the Truth when it comes to them: "This is evident sorcery!"

When to him are rehearsed Our Signs, "Tales of the ancients", he cries!

当别人对他们宣读我的迹象的时候，他们说：“我们确已听见过了，假若我们意欲，我们必说出与此相似的文词来；这只是古人的（神话）。”

有人对他们宣读我的明显的迹象的时候，那些不希望会见我的人说：“请你另拿一部《古兰经》来，或者请你修改这部《古兰经》。”你说：“我不至于擅自修改它。我只能遵从我所受的启示。如果我违抗我的主，我的确畏惧重大日的刑罚。”

对他们宣读我的明显的迹象的时候，不信道者对信道者说：“哪一派的地位更优越，会场更优美呢？”

主将说：“事实是这样的，我的迹象降临你，而你遗弃它， 你今天也同样地被遗弃了。”

当别人对他们宣读我的明显的迹象的时候， 你看见不信道者的脸上有不悦之色；他们几乎要袭击对他们宣读我的迹象者。你说：“我告诉你们比这个更恶劣的好吗？那就是火狱。真主以火狱应许不信道者，那归宿真恶劣！

我的许多明显迹象降临他们的时候，他们说：“这是明显的魔术。”

有人对他宣读我的迹象的时候，他自大地退避，仿佛没有听见一样，仿佛他的两耳重听一样。你以痛苦的刑罚，向他报喜吧。

有人对他们宣读我的明白的迹象时，他们说：“这个人只想妨碍你们崇拜你们的祖先所崇拜的偶像。”他们又说：“这只是捏造的谎言。”当真理来临的时候，不信道的人们说：“这只是一种明显的魔术。”

有人对他们宣读我的明显的迹象的时候，他们只是借口说：“你们把我们的祖先召唤回来吧，如果你们是说实话的。”

有人对他们诵读我的明显的迹象的时候，不信道的人们评论刚降临他们的真理说：“这是明显的魔术。”

有人对他宣读我的迹象时，他就说：“这是古人的故事。”

当别人对他宣读我的迹象的时候，他说：“这是古人的故事。”
