But say not - for any false thing that your tongues may put forth,- "This is lawful, and this is forbidden," so as to ascribe false things to Allah. For those who ascribe false things to Allah, will never prosper.

Verily this Qur'an doth guide to that which is most right (or stable), and giveth the Glad Tidings to the Believers who work deeds of righteousness, that they shall have a magnificent reward;

We have explained (things) in various (ways) in this Qur'an, in order that they may receive admonition, but it only increases their flight (from the Truth)!

He said: "Seest Thou? this is the one whom Thou hast honoured above me! If Thou wilt but respite me to the Day of Judgment, I will surely bring his descendants under my sway - all but a few!"

Say: "If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support.

And We have explained to man, in this Qur'an, every kind of similitude: yet the greater part of men refuse (to receive it) except with ingratitude!

Without adding, "So please Allah!" and call thy Lord to mind when thou forgettest, and say, "I hope that my Lord will guide me ever closer (even) than this to the right road."

We have explained in detail in this Qur'an, for the benefit of mankind, every kind of similitude: but man is, in most things, contentious.

When they had passed on (some distance), Moses said to his attendant: "Bring us our early meal; truly we have suffered much fatigue at this (stage of) our journey."

He answered: "This is the parting between me and thee: now will I tell thee the interpretation of (those things) over which thou wast unable to hold patience.

He said: "This is a mercy from my Lord: But when the promise of my Lord comes to pass, He will make it into dust; and the promise of my Lord is true."

And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree: She cried (in her anguish): "Ah! would that I had died before this! would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight!"

Verily Allah is my Lord and your Lord: Him therefore serve ye: this is a Way that is straight.

"Then he brought out (of the fire) before the (people) the image of a calf: It seemed to low: so they said: This is your god, and the god of Moses, but (Moses) has forgotten!"

Then We said: "O Adam! verily, this is an enemy to thee and thy wife: so let him not get you both out of the Garden, so that thou art landed in misery.

Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?"

Or have they taken for worship (other) gods besides him? Say, "Bring your convincing proof: this is the Message of those with me and the Message of those before me." But most of them know not the Truth, and so turn away.

They say: "When will this promise come to pass, if ye are telling the truth?"

They said, "Who has done this to our gods? He must indeed be some man of impiety!"

They said, "Art thou the one that did this with our gods, O Abraham?"

He said: "Nay, this was done by - this is their biggest one! ask them, if they can speak intelligently!"

Then will the true promise draw nigh (of fulfilment): then behold! the eyes of the Unbelievers will fixedly stare in horror: "Ah! Woe to us! we were indeed heedless of this; nay, we truly did wrong!"

The Great Terror will bring them no grief: but the angels will meet them (with mutual greetings): "This is your Day,- (the Day) that ye were promised."

Verily in this (Qur'an) is a Message for people who would (truly) worship Allah.

And strive in His cause as ye ought to strive, (with sincerity and under discipline). He has chosen you, and has imposed no difficulties on you in religion; it is the cult of your father Abraham. It is He Who has named you Muslims, both before and in this (Revelation); that the Messenger may be a witness for you, and ye be witnesses for mankind! So establish regular Prayer, give regular Charity, and hold fast to Allah! He is your Protector - the Best to protect and the Best to help!

The chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: his wish is to assert his superiority over you: if Allah had wished (to send messengers), He could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing (as he says), among our ancestors of old."

And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink.

But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,-

"Such things have been promised to us and to our fathers before! they are nothing but tales of the ancients!"

你们对于自己所叙述的事，不要妄言：”这是合法的，那是违法的。”以致你们假借真主的名义而造谣。假借真主的名义而造谣者必不成功。

这部《古兰经》必引导人于至正之道，并预告行善的信士，他们将要享受最大的报酬。

在这部《古兰经》里，我确已反复申述这个宗旨，以便他们铭记。这种申述只会使他们更加憎恶。

他说：“你告诉我吧，这就是你使他超越我的人吗？如果你宽限我到复活日，我誓必根绝他的后裔，但少数人除外。”

你说：“如果人类和精灵联合起来创造一部像这样的《古兰经》，那末，他们即使互相帮助，也必不能创造像这样的妙文。”

在这部《古兰经》里，我为众人确已申述各种比喻，但众人大半不信。

除非同时说：“如果真主意欲。”你如果忘了，就应当记忆起你的主，并且说：“我的主或许指示我比这更切近的正道。”

在这《古兰经》里，我确已为众人阐述了各种比喻，人是争辩最多的。

当他俩走过去的时候，他对他的僮仆说：“拿早饭来吃！我们确实疲倦了。”

他说：“我和你从此作别了。你所不能忍受的那些事，我将告诉你其中的道理。

他说：“这是从我的主降下的恩惠，当我的主的应许降临的时候，他将使这壁垒化为平地。我的主的应许是真实的。”

阵痛迫使她来到一棵椰枣树旁，她说：“啊！但愿我以前死了，而且已变成被人遗忘的东西。”

真主确是我的主，也确是你们的主，所以你们应当崇拜他。这是正路。”

他就为他们铸出一头牛犊--一个有犊声的躯壳， 他们就说：“这是你们的主，也是穆萨的主，但他忘记了。”

我说：“阿丹啊！这确是你的仇敌，也确是你的妻子的仇敌， 绝不要让他把你俩逐出乐园，以免你们辛苦。

不义者秘密谈论说：“这只是一个象你们一样的凡人， 你们明知是魔术而顺从他吗？”

难道他们除真主外还事奉许多神明吗？你说：“你们拿证据来吧， 这是对于我的同道者的记念，也是对于在我之前者的记念，但他们大半不知真理，背弃它。”

他们说：“这个警告将在何时实现呢？如果你们是诚实的人。”

他们说：“谁对我们的神灵做了这件事呢？他确是不义的人。”

他们说：“易卜拉欣啊！你对我们的神灵做了这件事吗？”

他说：“不然，是这个最大的偶像做了这件事。如果他们会说话，你们就问问他们吧。”

真实的应许将近了，不信道者突然瞪着眼睛（说）：”悲哉我们！ 我们对于今天曾是疏忽的。不然，我们是不义的。”

不使他们忧愁最大的恐怖。 众天神将欢迎他们（说）：”这是你们曾受应许的日子。”

对于崇拜主的民众，此经中确有充足的裨益。

你们应当为真主而真实地奋斗。他拣选你们，关于宗教的事，他未曾以任何烦难为你们的义务，你们应当遵循你们的祖先易卜拉欣的宗教，以前真主称你们为穆斯林，在这部经典里他也称你们为穆斯林，以便使者为你们作证，而你们为世人作证。你们当谨守拜功，完纳天课，信托真主；他是你们的主宰，主宰真好！助者真好！

他的宗族中不信道的头目们说：“这个人只是象你们一样的一个凡人，他想获得你们的尊重。假若真主要派使者，必定降下许多天神。我们没有听到在我们的祖先的时代发生过这样的事。

他的宗族中的头目，不信道而且否认后世的相会者，我使他们在今世得过豪华的生活。他们说：“这个只是象你们样的凡人：他吃你们所吃的， 他饮你们所饮的。

不然，他们的心，对于这部经典，是浸沉在困境之中的。此外， 他们还有许多行为，将要做出来。

我们和我们的祖先，以前确已受过这种警告了。这个只是古人的神话。”
