And among them are men who slander thee in the matter of (the distribution of) the alms: if they are given part thereof, they are pleased, but if not, behold! they are indignant!

They swear by Allah that they said nothing (evil), but indeed they uttered blasphemy, and they did it after accepting Islam; and they meditated a plot which they were unable to carry out: this revenge of theirs was (their) only return for the bounty with which Allah and His Messenger had enriched them! If they repent, it will be best for them; but if they turn back (to their evil ways), Allah will punish them with a grievous penalty in this life and in the Hereafter: They shall have none on earth to protect or help them.

If they charge thee with falsehood, say: "My work to me, and yours to you! ye are free from responsibility for what I do, and I for what ye do!"

Behold! verily to Allah belong all creatures, in the heavens and on earth. What do they follow who worship as His "partners" other than Allah? They follow nothing but fancy, and they do nothing but lie.

If Allah do touch thee with hurt, there is none can remove it but He: if He do design some benefit for thee, there is none can keep back His favour: He causeth it to reach whomsoever of His servants He pleaseth. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

"(And to preach thus), 'Seek ye the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance; that He may grant you enjoyment, good (and true), for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding grace on all who abound in merit! But if ye turn away, then I fear for you the penalty of a great day:

We do relate unto thee the most beautiful of stories, in that We reveal to thee this (portion of the) Qur'an: before this, thou too was among those who knew it not.

"But if it be that his shirt is torn from the back, then is she the liar, and he is telling the truth!"

They said: "By Allah! indeed has Allah preferred thee above us, and we certainly have been guilty of sin!"

If thou dost marvel (at their want of faith), strange is their saying: "When we are (actually) dust, shall we indeed then be in a creation renewed?" They are those who deny their Lord! They are those round whose necks will be yokes (of servitude): they will be Companions of the Fire, to dwell therein (for aye)!

Whether We shall show thee (within thy life-time) part of what we promised them or take to ourselves thy soul (before it is all accomplished),- thy duty is to make (the Message) reach them: it is our part to call them to account.

And He giveth you of all that ye ask for. But if ye count the favours of Allah, never will ye be able to number them. Verily, man is given up to injustice and ingratitude.

Mighty indeed were the plots which they made, but their plots were (well) within the sight of Allah, even though they were such as to shake the hills!

And there is not a thing but its (sources and) treasures (inexhaustible) are with Us; but We only send down thereof in due and ascertainable measures.

And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers;

If ye would count up the favours of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

And if ye do catch them out, catch them out no worse than they catch you out: But if ye show patience, that is indeed the best (course) for those who are patient.

If ye did well, ye did well for yourselves; if ye did evil, (ye did it) against yourselves. So when the second of the warnings came to pass, (We permitted your enemies) to disfigure your faces, and to enter your Temple as they had entered it before, and to visit with destruction all that fell into their power.

It may be that your Lord may (yet) show Mercy unto you; but if ye revert (to your sins), We shall revert (to Our punishments): And we have made Hell a prison for those who reject (all Faith).

The seven heavens and the earth, and all beings therein, declare His glory: there is not a thing but celebrates His praise; And yet ye understand not how they declare His glory! Verily He is Oft-Forbear, Most Forgiving!

There is not a population but We shall destroy it before the Day of Judgment or punish it with a dreadful Penalty: that is written in the (eternal) Record.

And their purpose was to tempt thee away from that which We had revealed unto thee, to substitute in our name something quite different; (in that case), behold! they would certainly have made thee (their) friend!

Their purpose was to scare thee off the land, in order to expel thee; but in that case they would not have stayed (therein) after thee, except for a little while.

Say, "The truth is from your Lord": Let him who will believe, and let him who will, reject (it): for the wrong-doers We have prepared a Fire whose (smoke and flames), like the walls and roof of a tent, will hem them in: if they implore relief they will be granted water like melted brass, that will scald their faces, how dreadful the drink! How uncomfortable a couch to recline on!

And who doth more wrong than one who is reminded of the Signs of his Lord, but turns away from them, forgetting the (deeds) which his hands have sent forth? Verily We have set veils over their hearts lest they should understand this, and over their ears, deafness, if thou callest them to guidance, even then will they never accept guidance.

Not one of you but will pass over it: this is, with thy Lord, a Decree which must be accomplished.

If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden.

We shall set up scales of justice for the Day of Judgment, so that not a soul will be dealt with unjustly in the least, and if there be (no more than) the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it (to account): and enough are We to take account.

But if they turn back, Say: "I have proclaimed the Message to you all alike and in truth; but I know not whether that which ye are promised is near or far.

他们中有人挑剔你分配赈款的工作。如果分给他们一份，他们就欢喜；如果不分给他们，他们就勃然大怒。

他们以真主盟誓，说他们没说什么，其实，他们确已说过不信道的话，而且他们在表示信奉伊斯兰教之后，又不信了，他们确已图谋不轨，但未得逞。他们非难，只因真主及其使者以其恩惠使他们富足。如果他们悔过，那对他们是更有益的；如果他们背弃，真主就要在今世和后世使他们遭受痛苦的刑罚，他们在大地上没有任何保护者，也没有任何援助者。

如果他们称你为说谎者，你就说：“我有我的工作，你们有你们的工作，你们与我所做的事无干，我与你们所做的事无涉。”

真的，天地间的一切，确是真主的，舍真主而祈祷许多配主的人，究竟凭什么呢？他们只凭臆测，他们尽说谎话。

如果真主降一点灾害于你，那末，除他之外，绝无能解除灾害的。如果他欲降福利于你，那末，任何人也不能阻拦他的恩惠。他把那恩惠降于他所意欲的仆人。他是至赦的，是至慈的。”

你们应当向你们的主求饶，然后，向他悔过，他就使你们获得优美的享受，到一个 限期，并赏赐有美德者以大量的恩惠。如果你们违背正道，那末，我的确担心你们遭受重大日的惩罚。

我借著启示你这部《古兰经》而告诉你最美的故事，在这以前，你确是疏忽的。

如果他的衬衣是从后面撕破的，那末她已说了谎话，而他说的是实话。”

他们说：“指真主发誓，真主确已从我们当中拣选了你。从前，我们确是有罪的。

如果你感到惊讶，那末，他们的这句话才是奇怪的：”当我们变成为尘土的时候，我们必定要重新受造吗？”这等人是不信他们的主的，这等人是要带枷锁的；这等人是居住火狱的，他们将永居其中。

如果我把我用来恫吓他们的刑罚昭示你一点儿，（那会使你满意），如果我使你寿终，那么，你只负传达的责任，我自负清算的责任。

你们对主的要求，他对你们都有所赏赐。如果你们计算真主的恩惠，你们不能加以统计。人确是很不义的，确是忘恩负义的。

他们确已用计谋，在真主那里，有他们的计谋（的果报）。他们的计谋，不足以移动群山。

每一种事物，我这里都有其仓库，我只依定数降下它。

那丛林的居民确是不义的，

如果你们要计算真主的恩惠，你们是无法统计的。真主确是至赦的，确是至慈的。

如果你们要报复，就应当依照你们所受的伤害而报复。如果你们容忍，那对于容忍者是更好的。

我说：“如果你们行善，那末，你们是为自己而行善，如果你们作恶，那末，你们是为自己而作恶。”当第二次作乱的约期来临的时候，（我又派遣他们），以便他们使你们变成为愁眉苦脸的，以便他们像头一次那样再入禁寺，以便他们把自己所占领的地方加以摧毁。

（如果你们悔改），你们的主或许会怜悯你们。如果你们重新违抗我，我将重新惩治你们。我以火狱为不信道者的监狱。

七层天和大地，以及万有，都赞颂他超绝万物，无一物不赞颂他超绝万物。但你们不了解他们的赞颂。他确是容忍的，确是至赦的。

一切市镇，在复活日之前，我都要加以毁灭，或加以严厉的惩罚，这是记录在天经里的。

他们确已使你几乎违背我所启示的教训，以便你假借我的名义，而捏造其他的教训。那么他们就会把你当朋友。

他们确已使你几乎不能安居故乡，以便把你逐出境外。如果那样，他们在你被逐之后，只得逗留一会儿。

你说：“真理是从你们的主降示的，谁愿信道就让他信吧，谁不愿信道，就让他不信吧。”我已为不义的人，预备了烈火，那烈火的烟幕将笼罩他们。如果他们（为乾渴而）求救，就以一种水供他们解渴，那种水像沥青那样烧灼人面，那饮料真糟糕！那归宿真恶劣！

有人以主的迹象教诲他们，但他们鄙弃它，并且忘记他们以前所犯的罪恶；有谁比他们还不义呢？我确已将薄膜加在他们的心上，以免他们了解经义，并且在他们的耳里造重听。如果你召他们于正道，那末，他们将永不遵循正道。

你们中没有一个人不到火狱的，那是你的主决定要施行的。

如果你高声说话，那末真主的确知道秘密的和更隐微的事情。

在复活日，我将设置公道的天秤，任何人都不受一点儿冤枉； 他的行为虽微如芥子，我也要报酬他；我足为清算者。

如果他们背离正道，你就说：“我公平地通知你们， 我不知道你们所被警告的（刑罚）是临近的呢？还是遥远的呢？
