And We should then have given them from our presence a great reward;

And their purpose was to tempt thee away from that which We had revealed unto thee, to substitute in our name something quite different; (in that case), behold! they would certainly have made thee (their) friend!

Their purpose was to scare thee off the land, in order to expel thee; but in that case they would not have stayed (therein) after thee, except for a little while.

Say: "Running away will not profit you if ye are running away from death or slaughter; and even if (ye do escape), no more than a brief (respite) will ye be allowed to enjoy!"

如果那样，我必定赏赐他们从我那里发出的重大的报酬，

他们确已使你几乎违背我所启示的教训，以便你假借我的名义，而捏造其他的教训。那么他们就会把你当朋友。

他们确已使你几乎不能安居故乡，以便把你逐出境外。如果那样，他们在你被逐之后，只得逗留一会儿。

你说：“如果你们逃避死亡，或杀戮，那末，逃避对于你们绝无裨益。你们即使逃避，也只得到稍稍享受。”
