Such elderly women as are past the prospect of marriage,- there is no blame on them if they lay aside their (outer) garments, provided they make not a wanton display of their beauty: but it is best for them to be modest: and Allah is One Who sees and knows all things.

We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,-

By Allah, We (also) sent (Our messengers) to Peoples before thee; but Satan made, (to the wicked), their own acts seem alluring: He is also their patron today, but they shall have a most grievous penalty.

And We have destined for them intimate companions (of like nature), who made alluring to them what was before them and behind them; and the sentence among the previous generations of Jinns and men, who have passed away, is proved against them; for they are utterly lost.

Moses said: "Your tryst is the Day of the Festival, and let the people be assembled when the sun is well up."

(Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,-

When the suffering reached them from us, why then did they not learn humility? On the contrary their hearts became hardened, and Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them.

"I found her and her people worshipping the sun besides Allah: Satan has made their deeds seem pleasing in their eyes, and has kept them away from the Path,- so they receive no guidance,-

(Remember also) the 'Ad and the Thamud (people): clearly will appear to you from (the traces) of their buildings (their fate): the Evil One made their deeds alluring to them, and kept them back from the Path, though they were gifted with intelligence and skill.

And know that among you is Allah's Messenger: were he, in many matters, to follow your (wishes), ye would certainly fall into misfortune: But Allah has endeared the Faith to you, and has made it beautiful in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you Unbelief, wickedness, and rebellion: such indeed are those who walk in righteousness;-

So He completed them as seven firmaments in two Days, and He assigned to each heaven its duty and command. And We adorned the lower heaven with lights, and (provided it) with guard. Such is the Decree of (Him) the Exalted in Might, Full of Knowledge.

It is We Who have set out the zodiacal signs in the heavens, and made them fair-seeming to (all) beholders;

Do they not look at the sky above them?- How We have made it and adorned it, and there are no flaws in it?

Those who desire the life of the present and its glitter,- to them we shall pay (the price of) their deeds therein,- without diminution.

O Prophet! Say to thy Consorts: "If it be that ye desire the life of this World, and its glitter,- then come! I will provide for your enjoyment and set you free in a handsome manner.

And (He has created) horses, mules, and donkeys, for you to ride and use for show; and He has created (other) things of which ye have no knowledge.

The (material) things which ye are given are but the conveniences of this life and the glitter thereof; but that which is with Allah is better and more enduring: will ye not then be wise?

Know ye (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children. Here is a similitude: How rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away. But in the Hereafter is a Penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong). And Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the devotees of Allah). And what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception?

"Nay, ye thought that the Messenger and the Believers would never return to their families; this seemed pleasing in your hearts, and ye conceived an evil thought, for ye are a people lost (in wickedness)."

The likeness of the life of the present is as the rain which We send down from the skies: by its mingling arises the produce of the earth- which provides food for men and animals: (It grows) till the earth is clad with its golden ornaments and is decked out (in beauty): the people to whom it belongs think they have all powers of disposal over it: There reaches it Our command by night or by day, and We make it like a harvest clean-mown, as if it had not flourished only the day before! thus do We explain the Signs in detail for those who reflect.

Even so, in the eyes of most of the pagans, their "partners" made alluring the slaughter of their children, in order to lead them to their own destruction, and cause confusion in their religion. If Allah had willed, they would not have done so: But leave alone them and their inventions.

Remember Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them, and said: "No one among men can overcome you this day, while I am near to you": But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he turned on his heels, and said: "Lo! I am clear of you; lo! I see what ye see not; Lo! I fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment."

As to those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds pleasing in their eyes; and so they wander about in distraction.

Revile not ye those whom they call upon besides Allah, lest they out of spite revile Allah in their ignorance. Thus have We made alluring to each people its own doings. In the end will they return to their Lord, and We shall then tell them the truth of all that they did.

And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.

Say: Who hath forbidden the beautiful (gifts) of Allah, which He hath produced for His servants, and the things, clean and pure, (which He hath provided) for sustenance? Say: They are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) purely for them on the Day of Judgment. Thus do We explain the signs in detail for those who understand.

And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; no obey any whose heart We have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds.

And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss.

And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. 不希望结婚的老妇，脱去外衣，而不露出首饰，这对于她们是无罪过的。 自己检点，对她们是更好的。真主是全聪的，是全知的。

我确已用文采即繁星点缀最近的天，

指真主发誓，在你之前，我确已派遣许多使者去教化各民族；但恶魔以他们的行为迷惑他们，所以今天他是他们的保护者，他们将受痛苦的刑罚。

我已为他们预定许多魔伴，而那些魔伴，以他们生前或死后的事情迷惑他们，他们应当受刑罚的判决，而入于以前逝去的精灵和人类的若干民族之中，而预言对他们实现，他们确是亏折者。

他说：“你们的约期定在节日，当众人在早晨集合的时候。”

他说：“我的主啊！你已判定我是迷误的，所以我誓必在大地上以罪恶诱惑他们，我必定要使他们一同迷误。

当我的惩罚降临的时候，他们为什么不谦逊呢？但他们的心坚硬，恶魔以他们的行为迷惑他们。

我发现她和她的臣民都舍真主而崇拜太阳，恶魔曾以他们的行为，迷惑他们，以至阻碍他们走上正道，所以他们不遵循正道。

（我曾毁灭）阿德人和赛莫德人，你们从他们居住的地方，确已明白他们被毁灭的情形。恶魔以他们的行为，迷惑他们而阻碍他们遵循正道，他们原来是能思维的。

你们应当知道，真主的使者在你们之间，假若他对于许多事情都顺从你们，你们必陷于苦难。但真主使你们热爱正信，并在你们的心中修饰它；他使你们觉得迷信、罪恶、放荡是可恶的；这等人，确是循规蹈矩的。

他在两日内创造了七层天，他以他的命令启示各天的居民，他以众星点缀最低的天，并加以保护。那是万能的、全知的主的预定。

我确已在天上创造了（十二）宫，我为观察者而修饰天空。

难道他们没有仰观天体吗？我是怎样建造它，点缀它，使它没有缺陷的？

凡欲享受今世生活及其装饰的人，在今世我要使他们享受自己行为的完全的报酬；在今世，他们不受亏待。

先知啊！你对你的众妻说：“如果你们欲得今世的生活与其装饰，那末，你们来吧！我将以离仪馈赠你们，我任你们依礼而离去。

他创造马、骡、驴，以供你们骑乘，以作你们的装饰。他还创造你们所不知道的东西。

你们所受赐的，无论什么，都是今世生活的给养和装饰，在真主那里的（报酬）是更优良的，是更长久的。难道你们不理解吗？

你们应当知道，今世的生活，只是游戏、娱乐、点缀、矜夸，以财产和子孙的富庶相争胜；譬如时雨，使田苗滋长，农夫见了非常高兴，嗣后，田苗枯槁，你看它变成黄色的，继而零落。在后世，有严厉的刑罚，也有从真主发出的赦宥和喜悦；今世生活，只是欺骗人的享受。

你们猜想使者和信士们永不回家了，你们的心为这猜想所迷惑，你们作不善的猜想，你们是将灭亡的民众。”

今世的生活，就像是从云中降下雨水，地里的禾苗，即人和牲畜所吃的东西--就因之而繁茂起来。直到田地穿上盛装，打扮得很美丽，而农夫猜想自己可以获得丰收的时候，我的命令在黑夜或白昼降临那些田地，我使五谷只留下茬儿，彷佛新近没有种过庄稼一样。我为能思维的民众这样解释许多迹象。

以物配主者的配主，这样诱惑他们中的许多人杀害自己的儿女，以便毁灭他们，并混乱他们的宗教。假若真主意欲，那末，他们就不做这件事，故你当任他们伪造谎言。

当时，恶魔以他们的行为蛊惑他们，他说：“今天，任何人不能战胜你们，我确是你们的保护者。”当两军对垒的时候，他向后转，他说：“我与你们确是无干的，我的确能看见你们所不能看见的，我的确畏惧真主。真主的刑罚是严厉的。”

不信后世者，我确已为他们而装饰了他们的行为，故他们是徘徊歧途的。

你们不要辱骂他们舍真主而祈祷的（偶像），以免他们因过分和无知而辱骂真主。我这样以-个民族的行为迷惑他们，然后，他们只归于他们的主，而他要把他们生前的行为告诉他们。

我确已用文采即繁星点缀最近的天，

我确已以众星点缀最近的天，并以众星供恶魔们猜测。我已为他们预备火狱的刑罚。

你说：“真主为他的臣民而创造的服饰和佳美的食物，谁能禁止他们去享受呢？”你说：“那些物品为信道者在今世所共有，在复活日所独享的。”我为有知识的民众这样解释一切迹象。

在早晨和晚夕祈祷自己的主而求其喜悦者，你应当耐心地和他们在一起，不要藐视他们，而求今世生活的浮华。我使某些人的心忽视我的教训，而顺从自己的欲望。他们的行为是过分的，这种人你们不要顺从他们。

你对信女们说，叫她们降低视线，遮蔽下身，莫露出首饰， 除非自然露出的，叫她们用面纱遮住胸膛，末露出首饰，除非对她们的丈夫，或她们的父亲，或她们的丈夫的父亲，或她们的儿子，或她们的丈夫的儿子，或她们的兄弟，或她们弟兄的儿子，或她们姐妹的儿子，或她们的女仆，或她们的奴婢，或无性欲的男仆，或不懂妇女之事的儿童；叫她们不要用力踏足，使人得知她们所隐藏的首饰。信士们啊！你们应全体向真主悔罪，以便你们成功。
