But We saved him and his family, except his wife; her We destined to be of those who lagged behind.

Say: None in the heavens or on earth, except Allah, knows what is hidden: nor can they perceive when they shall be raised up (for Judgment).

"It is true we were promised this,- we and our fathers before (us): these are nothing but tales of the ancients."

Nor is there aught of the unseen, in heaven or earth, but is (recorded) in a clear record.

Nor canst thou be a guide to the blind, (to prevent them) from straying: only those wilt thou get to listen who believe in Our Signs, and they will bow in Islam.

And the Day that the Trumpet will be sounded - then will be smitten with terror those who are in the heavens, and those who are on earth, except such as Allah will please (to exempt): and all shall come to His (Presence) as beings conscious of their lowliness.

And if any do evil, their faces will be thrown headlong into the Fire: "Do ye receive a reward other than that which ye have earned by your deeds?"

Then, when he decided to lay hold of the man who was an enemy to both of them, that man said: "O Moses! Is it thy intention to slay me as thou slewest a man yesterday? Thy intention is none other than to become a powerful violent man in the land, and not to be one who sets things right!"

When Moses came to them with Our clear signs, they said: "This is nothing but sorcery faked up: never did we head the like among our fathers of old!"

And how many populations We destroyed, which exulted in their life (of ease and plenty)! now those habitations of theirs, after them, are deserted,- All but a (miserable) few! and We are their heirs!

Nor was thy Lord the one to destroy a population until He had sent to its centre a messenger, rehearsing to them Our Signs; nor are We going to destroy a population except when its members practise iniquity.

And He is Allah: There is no god but He. To Him be praise, at the first and at the last: for Him is the Command, and to Him shall ye (all) be brought back.

But those who had been granted (true) knowledge said: "Alas for you! The reward of Allah (in the Hereafter) is best for those who believe and work righteousness: but this none shall attain, save those who steadfastly persevere (in good)."

If any does good, the reward to him is better than his deed; but if any does evil, the doers of evil are only punished (to the extent) of their deeds.

And thou hadst not expected that the Book would be sent to thee except as a Mercy from thy Lord: Therefore lend not thou support in any way to those who reject (Allah's Message).

We (once) sent Noah to his people, and he tarried among them a thousand years less fifty: but the Deluge overwhelmed them while they (persisted in) sin.

So naught was the answer of (Abraham's) people except that they said: "Slay him or burn him." But Allah did save him from the Fire. Verily in this are Signs for people who believe.

"Do ye indeed approach men, and cut off the highway?- and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?" But his people gave no answer but this: they said: "Bring us the Wrath of Allah if thou tellest the truth."

He said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who is there : we will certainly save him and his following,- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!"

And when Our Messengers came to Lut, he was grieved on their account, and felt himself powerless (to protect) them: but they said: "Fear thou not, nor grieve: we are (here) to save thee and thy following, except thy wife: she is of those who lag behind.

And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have knowledge.

Nay, here are Signs self-evident in the hearts of those endowed with knowledge: and none but the unjust reject Our Signs.

What is the life of this world but amusement and play? but verily the Home in the Hereafter,- that is life indeed, if they but knew.

Do they not reflect in their own minds? Not but for just ends and for a term appointed, did Allah create the heavens and the earth, and all between them: yet are there truly many among men who deny the meeting with their Lord (at the Resurrection)!

做恶的人，将匍匐着投入火狱：”你们只受你们的行为的报酬。”

当他欲扑击他俩的敌人的时候，求救的那个人说：“穆萨啊！你要象昨日杀人样杀我吗？你只想做这地方的暴虐者，却不想做调解者。”

当穆萨已带着我的许多明显的迹象来到他们面前的时候，他们说：“这个只是捏造的魔术，我们没有听见在我们的祖先（的时代）有这件东西。”

我曾毁灭许多城市，那些城市里的居民，过一种骄奢的生活。这些是他们的居住地，从他们灭亡之后，除很少的时间外，无人居住；我是他们的继承。

你的主，不会毁灭各城市，直到他在首邑中派遣一个使者，对各城市的居民宣读他的迹象。我不会毁灭各城市，除非城市里的居民多行不义。

他是真主，除他外，绝无应受崇拜的，今世后世的赞颂全归他，判决只由他作出。你们只被召归于他。

有学识的人说：“伤哉你们！真主的报酬，对于信道而且行善的人，是更好的，只有坚忍的人得享受那种报酬。”

行善的人将得更好的报酬，作恶的人，只受作恶事的报酬。

你并未希望真主把这部经典赏赐你，但那是由于你的主的恩惠。你绝不要做不信道者的助手。

除真主外，你不要祈祷别的任何神灵，除他外，绝无应受崇拜的。除他的本体外，万物都要毁灭。判决只由他作出，你们只被召归于他。

我确已派努哈去教化他的宗族，他在他们之间，逗留了九百五十年，洪水就袭击了他们，因为他们是不义的。

他的宗族说：“你们杀死他，或烧死他吧！”这是他们唯一的答复。真主拯救他脱离烈火，对于信道的民众，此中确有许多迹象。

你们务必要将男做女，拦路作恶，当众宣淫吗？”他的宗族说：“你把真主的刑罚昭示我们吧，如果你是诚实的人。”这是他们唯一的答复。

他说：“鲁特的确在这个城市里。”他们说：“我们知道在这个城市里的人，我们必定要拯救他和他的信徒，他的妻子除外，她是和其余的人同受刑罚的。”

当我的使者来访鲁特的时候，他为他们而忧愁，他无法保护他们。他们说：“你不要害怕，不要忧愁，我们必定拯救你和你的信徒，你的妻子除外，她是和其余的人同受刑罚的。”

这些譬喻，是我为众人而设的，只有学者能了解它。

除依最优的方式外，你们不要与信奉天经的人辩论，除非他们中不义的人。你们应当说：“我们确信降示我们的经典，和降示你们的经典；我们所崇拜和你们所崇拜的是同一个神明，我们是归顺他的。”

我这样把经典降示你，蒙我赏赐经典的人，有确信它的。这等人中，也有确信它的，只有不信道的人，否认我的迹象。

不然，这是我的明显的迹象，它保存在学者的胸中，只有不义的人否认我的迹象。

这种今世的生活，只是娱乐和游戏；后世的住宅，确是充满生活的。假若他们知道……

难道他们没有思维吗？真主创造天地万物，只依真理和定期，有许多人的确不信将与他们的主相会。
