They said: "In Allah do we put out trust. Our Lord! make us not a trial for those who practise oppression;

Moses prayed: "Our Lord! Thou hast indeed bestowed on Pharaoh and his chiefs splendour and wealth in the life of the present, and so, Our Lord, they mislead (men) from Thy Path. Deface our Lord, the features of their wealth, and send hardness to their hearts, so they will not believe until they see the grievous penalty."

"O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in a valley without cultivation, by Thy Sacred House; in order, O our Lord, that they may establish regular Prayer: so fill the hearts of some among men with love towards them, and feed them with fruits: so that they may give thanks.

O my Lord! make me one who establishes regular Prayer, and also (raise such) among my offspring O our Lord! and accept Thou my Prayer.

"O our Lord! cover (us) with Thy Forgiveness - me, my parents, and (all) Believers, on the Day that the Reckoning will be established!

So warn mankind of the Day when the Wrath will reach them: then will the wrong-doers say: "Our Lord! respite us (if only) for a short term: we will answer Thy call, and follow the messengers!" "What! were ye not wont to swear aforetime that ye should suffer no decline?

When those who gave partners to Allah will see their "partners", they will say: "Our Lord! these are our 'partners,' those whom we used to invoke besides Thee." But they will throw back their word at them (and say): "Indeed ye are liars!"

Behold, the youths betook themselves to the Cave: they said, "Our Lord! bestow on us Mercy from Thyself, and dispose of our affair for us in the right way!"

They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds."

And if We had inflicted on them a penalty before this, they would have said: "Our Lord! If only Thou hadst sent us a messenger, we should certainly have followed Thy Signs before we were humbled and put to shame."

They will say: "our Lord! Our misfortune overwhelmed us, and we became a people astray!

"Our Lord! bring us out of this: if ever we return (to Evil), then shall we be wrong-doers indeed!"

"A part of My servants there was, who used to pray 'our Lord! we believe; then do Thou forgive us, and have mercy upon us: For Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!"

Such as fear not the meeting with Us (for Judgment) say: "Why are not the angels sent down to us, or (why) do we not see our Lord?" Indeed they have an arrogant conceit of themselves, and mighty is the insolence of their impiety!

Those who say, "Our Lord! avert from us the Wrath of Hell, for its Wrath is indeed an affliction grievous,-

And those who pray, "Our Lord! Grant unto us wives and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous."

If (We had) not (sent thee to the Quraish),- in case a calamity should seize them for (the deeds) that their hands have sent forth, they might say: "Our Lord! why didst Thou not sent us a messenger? We should then have followed Thy Signs and been amongst those who believe!"

Those against whom the charge will be proved, will say: "Our Lord! These are the ones whom we led astray: we led them astray, as we were astray ourselves: we free ourselves (from them) in Thy presence: it was not us they worshipped."

If only thou couldst see when the guilty ones will bend low their heads before their Lord, (saying:) "Our Lord! We have seen and we have heard: Now then send us back (to the world): we will work righteousness: for we do indeed (now) believe."

And they would say: "Our Lord! We obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they misled us as to the (right) Path.

"Our Lord! Give them double Penalty and curse them with a very great Curse!"

But they said: "Our Lord! Place longer distances between our journey-stages": but they wronged themselves (therein). At length We made them as a tale (that is told), and We dispersed them all in scattered fragments. Verily in this are Signs for every (soul that is) patiently constant and grateful.

And they will say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has removed from us (all) sorrow: for our Lord is indeed Oft-Forgiving Ready to appreciate (service):

Therein will they cry aloud (for assistance): "Our Lord! Bring us out: we shall work righteousness, not the (deeds) we used to do!" - "Did We not give you long enough life so that he that would should receive admonition? and (moreover) the warner came to you. So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds): for the wrong-doers there is no helper."

They say: "Our Lord! hasten to us our sentence (even) before the Day of Account!"

They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!"

穆萨说：“我们的主啊！你把各种装饰品和今世生活的各种财产给予法老和他的贵族们--我们的主啊！--以致他们使民众背离你的大道。我们的主啊！求你毁掉他们的财产，求你封闭他们的心。但愿他们不信道，直到看见痛苦的刑罚。”

穆萨说：“我们的主啊！你把各种装饰品和今世生活的各种财产给予法老和他的贵族们--我们的主啊！--以致他们使民众背离你的大道。我们的主啊！求你毁掉他们的财产，求你封闭他们的心。但愿他们不信道，直到看见痛苦的刑罚。”

我们的主啊！我确已使我的部分后裔住在一个没有庄稼的山谷里，住在你的禁房附近--我们的主啊！--以便他们谨守拜功，求你使一部分人的心依恋他们，求你以一部分果实供给他们，以便他们感谢。

我们的主啊！你必定知道我们所隐讳的和我们所表白的。天地间没有什么事物能瞒过真主。

我的主啊！求你使我和一部分后裔谨守拜功。我们的主啊！求你接受我的祈踌。

我们的主啊！求你在清算实现之日饶恕我和我的双亲和信士们。”

你应当警告众人，将来要有这样的一日，刑罚将来临他们，而不义者将说：“我们的主啊！求你让我们延迟到一个临近的定期，以便我们响应你的号召，顺从你的使者。”难道你们以前没有发誓说，你们绝不会灭亡吗？

当以物配主者看见他们的配主的时候，他们将要说：“我们的主啊！这些是我们的配主，我们曾舍你而祈祷他们。”那些配主将回答他们说：“你们确是说谎的。”

当时，有几个青年避居山洞中，他们说：“我们的主啊！求你把你那里的恩惠赏赐我们，求你使我们的事业完全端正。”

他俩说：“我们的主啊！我们的确怕他粗暴地伤害我们，或更加暴虐无道。”

假若在派遣他之前，我以刑罚毁灭他们，他们必定要说：“我们的主啊！你怎么不派遣一个使者来引导我们，以便我们在蒙受卑贱和耻辱之前，遵守你的迹象呢？”

他们说：“我们的主啊！我们的薄命，曾制服我们，而我们变成迷误者。

我们的主啊！求你让我们从火狱出去，如果我们再次犯罪， 我们就确是不义者。”

从前，我的仆人中有一派人常说：“我们的主啊！我们已信道了，求你饶恕我们，求你怜悯我们，你是最怜悯的。”

不希望与我相会者曾说：“怎么不使众天神降临我们，或者得见我们的主呢？”他们确已妄自尊大，确已大逆不道。

他们常说：“我们的主啊！求你为我们避开火狱的刑罚。 火狱的刑罚是令人非常痛苦的，

他们说：“我们的主啊！求你以我们的妻子儿女为我们的安慰，求你以我们为敬畏者的典范。”

若不是他们将为自己犯罪而遭殃，并且说：“我们的主啊！你怎么不派一个使者来教化我们，使我们遵守你的迹象，而为信士呢？……”

受判决的人们说：“我们的主啊！我们曾使这些人迷误，固然我们迷误他们，但他们象我们自己一样迷误了。我们向你声明：我们与他们无干，他们没有崇拜我们。”

假若你得见犯罪者在他们的主那里垂头丧气地说：“我们的主啊！我们已经看见了，听见了，求你让我们转回去，我们将做善事，我们确是确信者。”假若你看见这种情状……。

他们说：“我们的主啊！我们确已服从我们的领袖和我们的伟人，是他们使我们违背正道。

我们的主啊！求你用加倍的刑罚处治他们，求你严厉地弃绝他们。”

然后，他们说：“我们的主啊！求你放长各站之间的距离。”他们自欺，所以我以他们为谈助。我使他们流离失所。对于每个多忍多谢的人，此中确有许多迹象。

他们说：“一切赞颂，全归真主！他祛除我们的忧愁。我们的主，确是至赦的，确是善报的。

他们在里面求救说：“我们的主啊！求你放我们出去，我们将改过迁善。”难道我没有延长你们的寿数，使能觉悟者有觉悟的时间吗？警告者已降临你们了。你们尝试刑罚吧，不义者绝没有任何援助者。

他们说：“我们的主啊！在清算日之前，请你快将我们所应得的刑罚，降于我们吧！”

他们将说：“我们的主啊！谁把我们诱惑到这种境地，求你使谁在火狱中受加倍的刑罚。”
