"And when it was said that the promise of Allah was true, and that the Hour- there was no doubt about its (coming), ye used to say, 'We know not what is the hour: we only think it is an idea, and we have no firm assurance.'"

We created not the heavens and the earth and all between them but for just ends, and for a Term Appointed: But those who reject Faith turn away from that whereof they are warned.

But (there is one) who says to his parents, "Fie on you! Do ye hold out the promise to me that I shall be raised up, even though generations have passed before me (without rising again)?" And they two seek Allah's aid, (and rebuke the son): "Woe to thee! Have faith! for the promise of Allah is true." But he says, "This is nothing but tales of the ancients!"

Mention (Hud) one of 'Ad's (own) brethren: Behold, he warned his people about the winding Sand-tracts: but there have been warners before him and after him: "Worship ye none other than Allah: Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Mighty Day."

"Everything will it destroy by the command of its Lord!" Then by the morning they - nothing was to be seen but (the ruins of) their houses! thus do We recompense those given to sin!

Therefore patiently persevere, as did (all) messengers of inflexible purpose; and be in no haste about the (Unbelievers). On the Day that they see the (Punishment) promised them, (it will be) as if they had not tarried more than an hour in a single day. Do they then only wait for the Hour,- that it should come on them of a sudden? But already have come some tokens thereof, and when it (actually) is on them, how can they benefit then by their admonition?

Know, therefore, that there is no god but Allah, and ask forgiveness for thy fault, and for the men and women who believe: for Allah knows how ye move about and how ye dwell in your homes.

Those who lagged behind (will say), when ye (are free to) march and take booty (in war): "Permit us to follow you." They wish to change Allah's decree: Say: "Not thus will ye follow us: Allah has already declared (this) beforehand": then they will say, "But ye are jealous of us." Nay, but little do they understand (such things).

Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it).

It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness.

Similarly, no messenger came to the Peoples before them, but they said (of him) in like manner, "A sorcerer, or one possessed"!

I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve Me.

It is no less than inspiration sent down to him:

These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord!

How many-so-ever be the angels in the heavens, their intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He pleases and that he is acceptable to Him.

But they have no knowledge therein. They follow nothing but conjecture; and conjecture avails nothing against Truth.

Therefore shun those who turn away from Our Message and desire nothing but the life of this world.

Those who avoid great sins and shameful deeds, only (falling into) small faults,- verily thy Lord is ample in forgiveness. He knows you well when He brings you out of the earth, And when ye are hidden in your mothers' wombs. Therefore justify not yourselves: He knows best who it is that guards against evil.

That man can have nothing but what he strives for;

We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,-

And Our Command is but a single (Act),- like the twinkling of an eye.

O ye assembly of Jinns and men! If it be ye can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass ye! not without authority shall ye be able to pass!

Is there any Reward for Good - other than Good?

Only the saying, "Peace! Peace".

有人对他的父母说：“唉！你们俩恫吓我说：我要复活吗？在我之前，有许多世代，确已逝去了。”他们俩向真主求援，并且说：“伤哉你！你信道吧，真主的应许，确是真实的！”他说：“这只是古人的故事。”

你纪念阿德人的弟兄吧！当时，他在沙丘警告他的宗族--在他以前和以后，有许多警告者，确已逝去了--他说：“你们应该只崇拜真主，我的确怕你们遭受重大日的刑罚。”

它奉它的主的命令而毁灭一切。一旦之间，不见他们，只见他们的房屋。我要如此报酬犯罪的民众。

你应当坚忍，如有决心的众使者那样坚忍，你不要要求他们所应得的刑罚早日实现。他们眼见自己所做恐吓的刑罚之日，他们将觉得仿佛在尘世只在白昼逗留过片刻。这是一个通告。惟悖逆的民众，才遭毁灭。

他们只等待复活时忽然来临他们，复活时的征候确已来临了。当复活时来临的时候，他们的觉悟，对于他们那里还会有效呢！

你应当知道，除真主外，绝无应受崇拜的，你应当为你的过失而求饶，并应当为众信士和众信女而求饶。真主是全知你们的活动和归宿的。

留在后方的人们，当你们为获取战利品而出发的时候，他们将说：“让我们跟你们去吧！”他们欲变更真主的判辞。你说：“你们绝对不得跟我们去，以前，真主已这样说过了。”他们将说：“不然，你们嫉妒我们。”不然，他们不甚了解。

他每说一句话，他面前都有天神当场监察。

凡经那暴风吹过的东西，无一不变成破碎的。

他们以前的各民族也象这样，每有一个使者来临他们，他们就说：“他是一个术士，或是一个疯人。”

我创造精灵和人类，只为要他们崇拜我。

这只是他所受的启示，

这些偶像只是你们和你们的祖先所定的名称，真主并未加以证实，他们只是凭猜想和私欲。正道确已从他们的主降临他们。

他们对于那种称呼，绝无任何知识，他们只凭猜想；而猜想对于真理，确是毫无裨益的。

你应当避开那违背我的教诲，且只欲享今世生活者；

远离大罪和丑事，但犯小罪者，你的主确是宽宥的。当他从大地创造你们的时候，当你们是在母腹中的胎儿的时候，他是全知你们的；所以你们不要自称清白，他是全知敬畏者的。

各人只得享受自己的劳绩；

我确已使飞沙走石的暴风去毁灭他们；惟鲁特的信徒，我在黎明时拯救了他们。

我的命令只是快如转瞬的一句话。

精灵和人类的群众啊！如果你们能通过天地的境界，你们就通过吧！你们必须凭据一种权柄，才能通过。

行善者，只受善报。

但听到说：“祝你们平安！祝你们平安！”

只有纯洁者才得抚摸那经本。
