Yet there are men who take (for worship) others besides Allah, as equal (with Allah): They love them as they should love Allah. But those of Faith are overflowing in their love for Allah. If only the unrighteous could see, behold, they would see the penalty: that to Allah belongs all power, and Allah will strongly enforce the penalty.

See they not that they are tried every year once or twice? Yet they turn not in repentance, and they take no heed.

Could they not see that it could not return them a word (for answer), and that it had no power either to harm them or to do them good?

Nay, We gave the good things of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win?

The Day they see the angels,- no joy will there be to the sinners that Day: The (angels) will say: "There is a barrier forbidden (to you) altogether!"

"He indeed would well-nigh have misled us from our gods, had it not been that we were constant to them!" - Soon will they know, when they see the Penalty, who it is that is most misled in Path!

Therefore patiently persevere, as did (all) messengers of inflexible purpose; and be in no haste about the (Unbelievers). On the Day that they see the (Punishment) promised them, (it will be) as if they had not tarried more than an hour in a single day. (Thine but) to proclaim the Message: but shall any be destroyed except those who transgress?

Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold.

有些人，在真主之外，别有崇拜，当做真主的匹敌；他们敬爱那些匹敌，象敬爱真主一样──信道的人们，对於敬爱真主，尤为恳挚──当不义的人，看见刑罚的时候，假若他们知道一切权力都是真主的，真主是刑罚严厉的……。

难道他们不知道吗？他们每年受一两次考验，但总是不改悔，也不觉悟。

那头牛犊不能回答他们的问话，也不能主持他们的祸福，难道他们不知道吗？

不然，我使这等人和他们的祖先得享受安乐，直到他们的寿命延长。 难道他们不知道我来缩小他们的边境吗？难道他们是战胜者吗？

他们看见众天神的日子，犯罪者将没有好消息，众天神要对他们说：“（乐园对于你们）是应为严禁的。”

要不是我们坚持着要崇拜我们的神灵，那么，他几乎使我们偏离他们了。 ”他们看见刑罚的时候，将要知道谁是偏离正路的。

你应当坚忍，如有决心的众使者那样坚忍，你不要要求他们所应得的刑罚早日实现。他们眼见自己所做恐吓的刑罚之日，他们将觉得仿佛在尘世只在白昼逗留过片刻。这是一个通告。惟悖逆的民众，才遭毁灭。

他们在乐园中，靠在床上，不觉炎热，也不觉严寒。
