Verily,
we have been promised

and our forefathers
this
before;
not
(is) this
but
(the) tales
(of) the former (people).`
Repel
by that
which
(is) best -
the evil.
We
know best
of what
they attribute.
So when
came
the magicians,
they said
to Firaun,
`Is there
for us
a reward
if
we are
the victorious?`
And not
we
(are) the ones to be punished.`
Then they will say,
`Are
we
(to be) reprieved?`
They said,
`We
(are) possessors
(of) strength
and possessors
(of) might
great,
and the command
(is) up to you,
so look
what
you will command.`
Certainly,
we have been promised
this,
we
and our forefathers
before.
Not
(is) this
except
tales
(of) the former (people).`
And how many
We have destroyed
of
a town
which exulted,
(in) its means of livelihood.
And these
(are) their dwellings
not
have been inhabited
after them
except
a little.
And indeed, [We]
We
(are) the inheritors.
He said,
`Indeed,
in it
(is) Lut.'
They said,
'We
know better
who
(is) in it.
We will surely save him
and his family,
except
his wife.
She
(is) of
those who remain behind.'
And they say,
'We
(have) more
wealth
and children,
and not
we
will be punished.'
And they say,
'We
(have) more
wealth
and children,
and not
we
will be punished.'
Indeed, We
[We]
[We] give life
(to) the dead
and We record
what
they have sent before
and their footprints,
an every
thing
We have enumerated it
in
a Register
clear.
Then are not
we
(to) die,
Except
our death
the first,
and not
we
will be punished?'
We
(are) your protectors
in
the life
(of) the world
and in
the Hereafter.
And for you
therein
whatever
desire
your souls,
and for you
therein
what
you ask,
Do they
distribute
(the) Mercy
(of) your Lord?
We
[We] distribute
among them
their livelihood
in
the life
(of) the world,
and We raise
some of them
above
otehrs
(in) degrees
so that may take,
some of them,
others,
(for) service.
But (the) Mercy
(of) your Lord
(is) better
thatn what
they accumulate.
'Not
it
(is) but
our death
the first
and not
we
(will be) raised again.
And when
it was said
indeed
(the) Promise
(of) Allah
(is) true
and the Hour -
(there is) no
doubt
about it,
you said,
`Not
we know
what
the Hour (is).
Not
we think
except
an assumption,
and not
we
(are) convinced.``
(of) coming forth.
[We]
[We] give life
and [We] cause death,
and to Us
(is) the final return.
We
know best
[of] what
they say,
and not
(are) you
over them
the one to compel.
But remind
with the Quran
whoever
fears
My threat.
Or
(do) they say,
`We
(are) an assembly
helping (each other)?`
We
[We] created you,
so why (do) not
you admit the truth?
Is it you
who create it
or
(are) We
the Creators?
We
[We] have decreed
among you
the death
and not
We
(are) outrun,
We
[We] have decreed
among you
the death
and not
We
(are) outrun,
Is it you (who)
cause it to grow
or
(are) We
the Ones Who grow?
Nay,
we
(are) deprived.`
Is it you
who send it down
from
the rain clouds,
or
We
(are) the Ones to send?
Is it you
who produced
its tree
or
We
(are) the Producers?
We
have made it
a reminder
and a provision
for the wayfarers in the desert.
"Such things have been promised to us and to our fathers before! they are nothing but tales of the ancients!"
Repel evil with that which is best: We are well acquainted with the things they say.
So when the sorcerers arrived, they said to Pharaoh: "Of course - shall we have a (suitable) reward if we win?
"And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!"
Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?"
They said: "We are endued with strength, and given to vehement war: but the command is with thee; so consider what thou wilt command."
"It is true we were promised this,- we and our fathers before (us): these are nothing but tales of the ancients."
And how many populations We destroyed, which exulted in their life (of ease and plenty)! now those habitations of theirs, after them, are deserted,- All but a (miserable) few! and We are their heirs!
He said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who is there : we will certainly save him and his following,- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!"
They said: "We have more in wealth and in sons, and we cannot be punished."

Verily We shall give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before and that which they leave behind, and of all things have We taken account in a clear Book (of evidence).
"Is it (the case) that we shall not die,
"Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?"
"We are your protectors in this life and in the Hereafter: therein shall ye have all that your souls shall desire; therein shall ye have all that ye ask for!-
Is it they who would portion out the Mercy of thy Lord? It is We Who portion out between them their livelihood in the life of this world: and We raise some of them above others in ranks, so that some may command work from others. But the Mercy of thy Lord is better than the (wealth) which they amass.
"There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again.
"And when it was said that the promise of Allah was true, and that the Hour- there was no doubt about its (coming), ye used to say, 'We know not what is the hour: we only think it is an idea, and we have no firm assurance.'"
Verily it is We Who give Life and Death; and to Us is the Final Goal-
We know best what they say; and thou art not one to overawe them by force. So admonish with the Qur'an such as fear My Warning!
Or do they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves"?
It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth?
Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators?
We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated

Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause?
"Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)"
Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We?
Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it?
We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts.

你应当以德报怨，我知道他们所描叙的。

我曾毁灭许多城市，那些城市里的居民，过一种骄奢的生活。这些是他们的居住地，从他们灭亡之后，除很少的时间外，无人居住；我是他们的继承。
他说：“鲁特的确在这个城市里。”他们说：“我们知道在这个城市里的人，我们必定要拯救他和他的信徒，他的妻子除外，她是和其余的人同受刑罚的。”
他们说：“我人财产更富，儿子更多，我人将来绝不针受惩罚。”

我必定要使死人复活，我必定要记录他们所作的善恶，和他们的事迹；我将一切事物，详明地记录在一册明白的范本中。
我们不是再死的吗？
唯有我们初次的死亡，而我们绝不会受惩罚吗？
在今世和后世，我们都是你们的保护者。你们在乐园里将享受你们所爱好的一切，你们在乐园里将享受你们所要求的一切。
难道他们能分配你的主的恩惠吗？我将他们在今世生活中的生计分配给他们，我使他们彼此相差若干级，以便他们层层节制。你的主的恩惠比他们所积蓄的更优美。
“我们只有初次的死亡，我们不会复活。
有人说：“真主的应许，确是真实的；复活时是毫无疑义的。”你们就说：“我们不知道复活时是什么，我们只猜想那或许是要发生的，但我们并不确信。”
我确是使人生、使人死的，我确是最么的归宿。
我全知他们所说的谰言，你不能强制他们，故你应当以《古兰经》教诲畏惧我的警告的人们。
难道他们说：“我们是一个常胜的团体。”
我曾创造你们，你们怎么不信复活呢？
究竟是你们把它造成人呢？还是我把它造成人呢？
我曾将死亡分配给你们，任何人不能阻挠我，
我曾将死亡分配给你们，任何人不能阻挠我，
究竟是你们使它发荣呢？还是我使它发荣呢？
不然！我们是被剥夺的。”
究竟是你们使它从云中降下的呢？还是我使它降下的呢？
究竟是你们使燧木生长的呢？还是我使它生长的呢？
我以它为教训，并且以它为荒野的居民的慰藉，
