He said: "Would that I had power to suppress you or that I could betake myself to some powerful support."

Of Allah, to Whom do belong all things in the heavens and on earth! But alas for the Unbelievers for a terrible penalty (their Unfaith will bring them)!-

When the first of the warnings came to pass, We sent against you Our servants given to terrible warfare: They entered the very inmost parts of your homes; and it was a warning (completely) fulfilled.

Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein!

They said: "We are endued with strength, and given to vehement war: but the command is with thee; so consider what thou wilt command."

Say: "I do admonish you on one point: that ye do stand up before Allah,- (It may be) in pairs, or (it may be) singly,- and reflect (within yourselves): your Companion is not possessed: he is no less than a warner to you, in face of a terrible Penalty."

Say to the desert Arabs who lagged behind: "Ye shall be summoned (to fight) against a people given to vehement war: then shall ye fight, or they shall submit. Then if ye show obedience, Allah will grant you a goodly reward, but if ye turn back as ye did before, He will punish you with a grievous Penalty."

他说：“但愿我有能力抵抗你们，或退避到一个坚强的支柱。”

真主是有天地万物的。哀哉不信道者！他们将受严厉的刑罚。

当第一次作乱的约期来临的时候，我派遣我的许多强大的仆人去惩治你们，他们就搜索了住宅，那是要履行的诺言。

直到我对他们开辟严刑之门的时候，他们为它而忽然变成失望者。

他们说：“我们既有武力，又有勇气。我们对你唯命是从，请你想一想，你要我们做什么。”

你说：“我只以一件事劝导你们，你们应当为真主而双双地或单独地站起来，然后思维。”你们的同乡，绝无疯病。在严厉的刑罚来临之前，他对你们只是一个警告者。

你对逗留在后方的游牧人说：“你们将被召去讨伐一群剽悍的民众，或他们归顺。如果你们服从（命令），真主就以优美的报酬赏赐你们；如果你们还象以前那样规避，他就使你们受痛苦的刑罚。”
