Allah disdains not to use the similitude of things, lowest as well as highest. Those who believe know that it is truth from their Lord; but those who reject Faith say: "What means Allah by this similitude?" By it He causes many to stray, and many He leads into the right path; but He causes not to stray, except those who forsake (the path),-

But Allah doth call to the Home of Peace: He doth guide whom He pleaseth to a way that is straight.

The Unbelievers say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "Truly Allah leaveth, to stray, whom He will; But He guideth to Himself those who turn to Him in penitence,-

We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom.

If Allah so willed, He could make you all one people: But He leaves straying whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases: but ye shall certainly be called to account for all your actions.

And those to whom knowledge has come see that the (Revelation) sent down to thee from thy Lord - that is the Truth, and that it guides to the Path of the Exalted (in might), Worthy of all praise.

Is he, then, to whom the evil of his conduct is made alluring, so that he looks upon it as good, (equal to one who is rightly guided)? For Allah leaves to stray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. So let not thy soul go out in (vainly) sighing after them: for Allah knows well all that they do!

The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah - the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).

And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind.

真主的确不嫌以蚊子或更小的事物设任何譬喻；信道者，都知道那是从他们的主降示的真理；不信道者，却说：“真主设这个譬喻的宗旨是甚麽？”他以譬喻使许多人入迷途，也以譬喻使许多人上正路；但除悖逆者外，他不以譬喻使人入迷途。

真主召人到平安的住宅，并引导其所欲引导的人走上正路。

不信道的人们说：“怎么没有一种迹象从他的主降临他呢？”你说：“真主必定使他所意欲者误入迷途，必定使归依他的人走上正路。”

我不派遣一个使者则已，但派遣的时候，总是以他的宗族的语言（降示经典），以便他为他们阐明正道。而真主使他所意欲者误入迷途，使他所意欲者遵循正路。他确是强大的，确是至睿的。

假若真主意欲，他必使你们成为一个民族；但他使他所意欲者误入迷途，使他所意欲者遵循正路。你们势必要为你们的行为而受审问。

有学识的人们，知道从你的主降示你的经典，确是真理，能指示（世人走上）万能的、可颂的主的大道。

为自己的恶行所迷惑，因而认恶为善者，象真主所引导的人吗？真主必使他所意欲者误入迷途，必使他所意欲者遵循正道，所以你不要为哀悼他们而丧生，真主确是全知他们的行为的。

他已为你们制定正教，就是他所命令努哈的、他所启示你的、他命令易卜拉欣、穆萨和尔撒的宗教。你们应当谨守正教，不要为正教而分门别户。以物配主的人们，以为你所教导他们的事是难堪的。真主将他所意欲者招致于正教，将归依他者引导于真理。

我只将管理火狱的成天神，我只以他们的数目，考验不信道的人们，以便曾受天经的人们认清，而信道的人们更加笃信；以免曾受天经的人们和信道的人们怀疑；以便心中有病者和不信道者说：“真主设这个譬喻做什么？”真主这样使他所意欲的人误入迷途，使他所意欲的人遵循正路。只有你的主，能知道他的军队，这只是人类的教训。
