O ye people! Adore your Guardian-Lord, who created you and those who came before you, that ye may have the chance to learn righteousness;

And remember We took your covenant and We raised above you (The towering height) of Mount (Sinai) : (Saying): "Hold firmly to what We have given you and bring (ever) to remembrance what is therein: Perchance ye may fear Allah."

In the Law of Equality there is (saving of) Life to you, o ye men of understanding; that ye may restrain yourselves.

O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint,-

Verily, this is My way, leading straight: follow it: follow not (other) paths: they will scatter you about from His (great) path: thus doth He command you. that ye may be righteous.

To the 'Ad people, (We sent) Hud, one of their (own) brethren: He said: O my people! worship Allah! ye have no other god but Him will ye not fear (Allah)?"

When We shook the Mount over them, as if it had been a canopy, and they thought it was going to fall on them (We said): "Hold firmly to what We have given you, and bring (ever) to remembrance what is therein; perchance ye may fear Allah."

Say: "Who is it that sustains you (in life) from the sky and from the earth? or who is it that has power over hearing and sight? And who is it that brings out the living from the dead and the dead from the living? and who is it that rules and regulates all affairs?" They will soon say, "Allah". Say, "will ye not then show piety (to Him)?"

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and on earth, and to Him is duty due always: then will ye fear other than Allah?

(Further, We sent a long line of prophets for your instruction). We sent Noah to his people: He said, "O my people! worship Allah! Ye have no other god but Him. Will ye not fear (Him)?"

And We sent to them a messenger from among themselves, (saying), "Worship Allah! ye have no other god but Him. Will ye not fear (Him)?"

They will say, "(They belong) to Allah." Say: "Will ye not then be filled with awe?"

Behold, their brother Noah said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?

Behold, their brother Hud said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?

Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear (Allah)?

Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?

Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?

Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)?

Then how shall ye, if ye deny (Allah), guard yourselves against a Day that will make children hoary-headed?-

众人啊！你们的主，创造了你们，和你们以前的人，你们当崇拜他，以便你们敬畏。

当时，我与你们缔约，并将山树立在你们的上面，我说：“你们当坚守我所赐你们的经典，并且当牢记其中的律例，以便你们敬畏。”

有理智的人们啊！你们在抵罪律中获得生命，（以此为制），以便你们敬畏。

信道的人们啊！斋戒已成为你们的定制，犹如它曾为前人的定制一样，以便你们敬畏。

这确是我的正路，故你们当遵循它；你们不要遵循邪路，以免那些邪路使你们离开真主的大道。他将这些事嘱咐你们，以便你们敬畏。

（我确已派遣）阿德人的弟兄呼德去教化他们，他说：“我的宗族啊！你们要崇拜真主，除他之外，绝无应受你们崇拜的。难道你们还不敬畏吗？”

当时我使那座山在他们的上面震动，好像伞盖一样，他们猜想那座山要落在他们的头上。我说：“你们当坚持我赐予你们的经典，并当牢记其中的教训，以便你们敬畏。”

你说：“谁从天上和地上给你们提供给养？谁主持你们的听觉和视觉？谁使活物从死物中生出？谁使死物从活物中生出？谁管理事物？”他们要说：“真主。”你说：“难道你们不敬畏他吗？

天地万物只是他的，顺从常常只归于他。难道你们舍真主而敬畏他物吗？

我确已派遣努哈去教化他的宗族，他说：“我的宗族啊！你们应当崇拜真主，除他之外，绝无应受你们崇拜的。难道你们不敬畏吗？”

我从他们族中派了一个使者，去教化他们（说）：”你们应当崇拜真主， 除了他，你们绝无应受崇拜者，难道你们不敬畏吗？”

他们要说：“真主。”你说：“那你们怎不敬畏呢？”

当时，他们的弟兄努哈对他们说：“你们怎么不敬畏真主呢？

当时，他们的弟兄呼德曾对他们说：“你们怎么不敬畏呢？

当日，他们的弟兄撒立哈曾对他们说：“你们怎么不敬畏呢？

当日，他们的弟兄鲁特曾对他们说：“你们怎么不敬畏呢？

当日，舒阿卜曾对他们说：“你们怎么不敬畏呢？

当时，他对他的宗族说：“难道你们不敬畏真主吗？

如果你们不信道，那末，你们怎么防备那将使儿童白发苍苍的日子呢？
