Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who were told to hold back their hands (from fight) but establish regular prayers and spend in regular charity? When (at length) the order for fighting was issued to them, behold! a section of them feared men as - or even more than - they should have feared Allah: They said: "Our Lord! Why hast Thou ordered us to fight? Wouldst Thou not Grant us respite to our (natural) term, near (enough)?" Say: "Short is the enjoyment of this world: the Hereafter is the best for those who do right: Never will ye be dealt with unjustly in the very least!

Those who fear their Lord in their most secret thoughts, and who hold the Hour (of Judgment) in awe.

(It is the practice of those) who preach the Messages of Allah, and fear Him, and fear none but Allah. And enough is Allah to call (men) to account.

Nor can a bearer of burdens bear another's burdens if one heavily laden should call another to (bear) his load. Not the least portion of it can be carried (by the other). Even though he be nearly related. Thou canst but admonish such as fear their Lord unseen and establish regular Prayer. And whoever purifies himself does so for the benefit of his own soul; and the destination (of all) is to Allah.

Allah has revealed (from time to time) the most beautiful Message in the form of a Book, consistent with itself, (yet) repeating (its teaching in various aspects): the skins of those who fear their Lord tremble thereat; then their skins and their hearts do soften to the celebration of Allah's praises. Such is the guidance of Allah: He guides therewith whom He pleases, but such as Allah leaves to stray, can have none to guide.

As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward.

难道你没有看见吗？有人曾对他们说：“你们当制止自己的武力，当谨守拜功，当完纳天课。”当真主以抗战为他们的定制的时候，他们中有一部分人畏惧敌人，犹如畏惧真主，乃至更加畏惧。他们说：“我们的主啊！你为什么以抗战为我们的定制呢？你为什么不让我们延迟到一个临近的日期呢？”你说：“今世的享受，是些微的；后世的报酬，对于敬畏者，是更好的。你们不受一丝毫的亏枉。”

敬畏者在秘密中敬畏他们的主，他们是为复活时而恐惧的。

先知们是传达真主的使命的，他们畏惧他，除真主外，他们不畏惧任何人。真主足为监察者。

一个负罪者，不再负别人的罪；一个负重罪者，如果叫别人来替他负罪，那末，别人虽是他的近亲，也不能替他担负一丝毫。你只能警告在秘密中敬畏主，且谨守拜功者。洗涤身心者，只为自己而洗涤。真主是唯一的归宿。

真主曾降示最美的训辞，就是前后一律、反复叮咛的经典；畏惧主的人，为他而战栗，然后，为记忆真主而安静。那是真主的正道，他用来引导他所意欲引导者，真主使谁迷误，谁就没有向导。

在秘密中畏惧主的人们，将蒙赦宥和重大的报酬。
