When they entered the presence of David, and he was terrified of them, they said: "Fear not: we are two disputants, one of whom has wronged the other: Decide now between us with truth, and treat us not with injustice, but guide us to the even Path..

(David) said: "He has undoubtedly wronged thee in demanding thy (single) ewe to be added to his (flock of) ewes: truly many are the partners (in business) who wrong each other: Not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?"...and David gathered that We had tried him: he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in repentance).

Is it they who would portion out the Mercy of thy Lord? It is We Who portion out between them their livelihood in the life of this world: and We raise some of them above others in ranks, so that some may command work from others. But the Mercy of thy Lord is better than the (wealth) which they amass.

They will be of no use to thee in the sight of Allah: it is only Wrong-doers (that stand as) protectors, one to another: but Allah is the Protector of the Righteous.

They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry.

When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his consorts, and she then divulged it (to another), and Allah made it known to him, he confirmed part thereof and repudiated a part. Then when he told her thereof, she said, "Who told thee this? "He said, "He told me Who knows and is well-acquainted (with all things)."

Then they turned, one against another, in reproach.

当时，他们去见达五德，他为他们而恐怖。他们说：“你不要恐怖！我们是两造，被告曾欺凌了原告，请你为我们秉公裁判，请你不要偏袒，请你指引我们正路。

达五德说：“他确已欺负你了，因为他要求你把你的母绵羊归并他的母绵羊。有许多伙计，的确相欺，惟信道而行善者则不然，但他们是很少的。”达五德以为我考验他，他就向他的主求饶，且拜倒下去，并归依他。（此处叩头！）※

难道他们能分配你的主的恩惠吗？我将他们在今世生活中的生计分配给他们，我使他们彼此相差若干级，以便他们层层节制。你的主的恩惠比他们所积蓄的更优美。

他们必定不能为你抵御真主的刑罚一丝毫。不义者必定互相监护；真主是监护敬畏者的。

于是他们大家走向前来互相谈论。

当时，先知把一句话秘密地告欣他的一个妻子，她即转告了别人，而真主使先知知道他的秘密已被泄漏的时候，他使她认识一部分，而隐匿一部分。当他既以泄漏告诉她的时候，她说：“谁报告你这件事的？”他说：“是全知的、彻知的主告诉我的。”

於是他们大家走向前来，互相责备起来。
