And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee an Imam to the Nations." He pleaded: "And also (Imams) from my offspring!" He answered: "But My Promise is not within the reach of evil-doers."

Behold! his Lord said to him: "Bow (thy will to Me):" He said: "I bow (my will) to the Lord and Cherisher of the Universe."

When Moses came to the place appointed by Us, and his Lord addressed him, He said: "O my Lord! show (Thyself) to me, that I may look upon thee." Allah said: "By no means canst thou see Me (direct); But look upon the mount; if it abide in its place, then shalt thou see Me." When his Lord manifested His glory on the Mount, He made it as dust. And Moses fell down in a swoon. When he recovered his senses he said: "Glory be to Thee! to Thee I turn in repentance, and I am the first to believe."

When Moses came to the place appointed by Us, and his Lord addressed him, He said: "O my Lord! show (Thyself) to me, that I may look upon thee." So his Lord hearkened to him (in his prayer), and turned away from him their snare: Verily He heareth and knoweth (all things).

But his Lord chose him (for His Grace): He turned to him, and gave him Guidance.

It may be, if he divorced you (all), that Allah will give him in exchange consorts better than you,- who submit (their wills), who believe, who are devout, who turn to Allah in repentance, who worship (in humility), who travel (for Faith) and fast,- previously married or virgins.

Thus did his Lord choose him and make him of the Company of the Righteous.

Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:-

Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honoured me."

当时，易卜拉欣的主用若干诫命试验他，他就实践了那些诫命。他说：“我必定任命你为众仆人的师表。”易卜拉欣说：“我的一部分後裔，也得为人师表吗？”他说：“我的任命，不包括不义的人们。”

当时，他的主对他说：“你归顺吧。”他说：“我已归顺全世界的主了。”

当穆萨为了我的会期而来，而且他的主对他说了话的时候，他说：“我的主啊！求你昭示我，以便我看见你。”主说：“你不能看见我，但你看那座山吧。如果它能在它的本位上坚定，那末，你就能看见我。”当他的主对那座山微露光华的时候，他使那座山变成粉碎的。穆萨晕倒在地上。当他苏醒的时候，他说：“我赞颂你超绝万物，我向你悔罪，我是首先信道的。”

当穆萨为了我的会期而来，而且他的主对他说了话的时候，他说：“我的主啊！求你昭示我，以便我看见你。”主说：“你不能看见我，但你看那座山吧。如果它能在它的本位上坚定，那末，你就能看见我。”当他的主对那座山微露光华的时候，他使那座山变成粉碎的。穆萨晕倒在地上。当他苏醒的时候，他说：“我赞颂你超绝万物，我向你悔罪，我是首先信道的。”

他的主就答应了他，并且为他排除了她们的诡计。他确是全聪的，确是全知的。

嗣后，他的主挑选了他，饶恕了他，引导了他。

如果他休了你们，他的主或许将以胜过你们的妻子补偿他，她们是顺主的，是信道，是服从的，是悔罪的，是拜主的，是持斋的，是再醮的和初婚的。

嗣后，他的主拣选了他，并使他入於善人之列。

当时，他的主，曾在圣谷杜洼中召唤他说：

至於人，当他的主考验他，故优待他，而且使他过安逸生活的时候，他说：“我的主优待我了。”
