(Charity is) for those in need, who, in Allah's cause are restricted (from travel), and cannot move about in the land, seeking (For trade or work): the ignorant man thinks, because of their modesty, that they are free from want. Thou shalt know them by their (Unfailing) mark: They beg not importunately from all the sundry. And whatever of good ye give, be assured Allah knoweth it well.

Except those who are (really) weak and oppressed - men, women, and children - who have no means in their power, nor (a guide-post) to their way.

No aid can they give them, nor can they aid themselves!

"But those ye call upon besides Him, are unable to help you, and indeed to help themselves."

They will in no wise frustrate (His design) on earth, nor have they protectors besides Allah! Their penalty will be doubled! They lost the power to hear, and they did not see!

And worship others than Allah,- such as have no power of providing them, for sustenance, with anything in heavens or earth, and cannot possibly have such power?

See what similes they strike for thee: but they have gone astray, and never can they find a way.

(Unbelievers) whose eyes had been under a veil from remembrance of Me, and who had been unable even to hear.

Nay, it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they (then) get respite.

Or have they gods that can guard them from Us? They have no power to aid themselves, nor can they be defended from Us.

See what kinds of comparisons they make for thee! But they have gone astray, and never a way will they be able to find!

It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it).

No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), nor to return to their own people!

They have not the power to help them: but they will be brought up (before Our Judgment-seat) as a troop (to be condemned).

The Day that the shin shall be laid bare, and they shall be summoned to bow in adoration, but they shall not be able,-

（施舍）应归那些贫民，他们献身於主道，不能到远方去谋生；不明他们的真相的人，以为他们是富足的，因为他们不肯向人乞讨。你从他们的仪表可以认识他们，他们不会呶呶不休地向人乞讨。你们所施舍的任何美物，确是真主所知道的。

惟老弱和妇孺，他们既无力迁移，又不认识道路。

那些东西不能助人，也不能自助。

你们舍他而祈祷的偶像，不能助你们，也不能自助。”

这等人在大地上绝不能逃避天谴。除真主外，他们绝无保护者。他们将受到加倍的惩罚。他们未能听从，也未观察。

他们舍真主而崇拜（偶像），那是不能为他们主持从天上降下的和从地上生出的一点给养，而且毫无能力的。

你看他们为你打了许多比喻，但他们所说的都不中肯，他们不能获得一条出路。

他们的眼在翳子中，不能看到我的教诲，他们不能听从。

但复活时将突然来临，而使他们惊慌失措，他们不能抵抗它，也不蒙展缓。

除我之外，难道他们有许多神明保护他们吗？他们所崇拜的神明，不能自卫，他们对我（的刑罚）也不蒙庇护。

你看他们怎样为你打了许多譬喻，而他们自己误入歧途，故不能获得一条正路。

那对于他们既不是适宜的，也不是他们所能的。

他们将来不能立遗嘱，也不能回家去。

那些神灵不能援助他们，他们却是为那些神灵而被集合的军队。

在那日，大难将临头，他们将被召去叩头，而他们不能叩头。
