And He taught Adam the names of all things; then He placed them before the angels, and said: "Tell me the names of these if ye are right."

Remember thou saidst to the Faithful: "Is it not enough for you that Allah should help you with three thousand angels (Specially) sent down?

"Yea, - if ye remain firm, and act aright, even if the enemy should rush here on you in hot haste, your Lord would help you with five thousand angels Making a terrific onslaught.

Remember ye implored the assistance of your Lord, and He answered you: "I will assist you with a thousand of the angels, ranks on ranks."

Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them."

Has then your Lord (O Pagans!) preferred for you sons, and taken for Himself daughters among the angels? Truly ye utter a most dreadful saying!

Allah chooses messengers from angels and from men for Allah is He Who hears and sees (all things).

Praise be to Allah, Who created (out of nothing) the heavens and the earth, Who made the angels, messengers with wings,- two, or three, or four (pairs): He adds to Creation as He pleases: for Allah has power over all things.

他将万物的名称，都教授阿丹，然後以万物昭示众天神，说：“你们把这些事物的名称告诉我吧，如果你们是诚实的。”

当时，你对信士们说：“你们的主降下天神三千来援助你们，还不够吗？

不然，如果你们坚忍，并且敬畏，而敌人立刻来攻你们，那末，你们的主，将使袭击的天神五千来援助你们。”

当时，你们求援于你们的主，他就答应了你们：”我要陆续降下一千天神去援助你们。”

当时，你的主启示众天神：”我是与你们同在的，故你们当使信道者坚定。我要把恐怖投在不信道的人的心中。”故你们当斩他们的首级，断他们的指头。

难道你们的主把男儿赏赐你们，而以众天神为自己的女儿吗？你们的确说出荒谬的话。

真主从天神中，于人类中拣选若干使者，真主确是全聪的，确是全明的。

一切赞颂，全归真主--天地的创造者！他使每个天神具有两翼，或三翼，或四翼。他在创造中增加他所欲增加的。真主对于万事确是全能的。
