O People of the Book! Now hath come unto you, making (things) clear unto you, Our Messenger, after the break in (the series of) our messengers, lest ye should say: "There came unto us no bringer of glad tidings and no warner (from evil)": But now hath come unto you a bringer of glad tidings and a warner (from evil). And Allah hath power over all things.

Nor wast thou at the side of (the Mountain of) Tur when we called (to Moses). Yet (art thou sent) as Mercy from thy Lord, to give warning to a people to whom no warner had come before thee: in order that they may receive admonition.

Or do they say, "He has forged it"? Nay, it is the Truth from thy Lord, that thou mayest admonish a people to whom no warner has come before thee: in order that they may receive guidance.

Never did We send a warner to a population, but the wealthy ones among them said: "We believe not in the (Message) with which ye have been sent."

But We had not given them Books which they could study, nor sent messengers to them before thee as Warners.

Just in the same way, whenever We sent a Warner before thee to any people, the wealthy ones among them said: "We found our fathers following a certain religion, and we will certainly follow in their footsteps."

信奉天经的人呀！在众天使（的统道）中断之后，我的使者确已来临你们，为你们阐明教义，以免你们将来说：“没有任何报喜者和警告者来临我们。”一个报喜者，　和警告者，确已来临你们了。真主对于万事是全能的。

当我召唤（穆萨）的时候，你没有在山边，但这是从你的主降下的恩惠，以便你警告在你之前没有任何警告者曾降临他们的那些民众，以便他们记念。

他们说：“他捏造它吗？”不然！它是从你的主降示的真理，以便你警告在你之前没有任何警告者来临过的一群民众，以便他们遵循正道。

每逢我派遣警告者到一个城市去，其中豪华的人们总是说：“我们的确不信你的使命。”

我没有把他们的能诵习的任何经典赏赐他们，在你之前，我没有派遣任何警告者去教化他们。

在你之前，每逢我这样派遣警告者到一个城市去，那里的豪华者总是说：“我们确已发现我们的祖先是信奉一种宗教的，我们确是遵循他们的遗迹的。”
