Allah did aforetime take a covenant from the Children of Israel, and we appointed twelve captains among them. And Allah said: "I am with you: if ye (but) establish regular prayers, practise regular charity, believe in my messengers, honour and assist them, and loan to Allah a beautiful loan, verily I will wipe out from you your evils, and admit you to gardens with rivers flowing beneath; but if any of you, after this, resisteth faith, he hath truly wandered from the path or rectitude."

The number of months in the sight of Allah is twelve (in a year)- so ordained by Him the day He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are sacred: that is the straight usage. So wrong not yourselves therein, and fight the Pagans all together as they fight you all together. But know that Allah is with those who restrain themselves.

Behold! Joseph said to his father: "O my father! I did see eleven stars and the sun and the moon: I saw them prostrate themselves to me!"

真主与以色列的后裔确已缔约，并从他们中派出十二个首领。真主说：“我确与你们同在。如果你们谨守拜功，完纳天课，确信我的众使者，并协助他们，并以善债借给真主，我必勾销你们的罪恶，我必让你们进入下临诸河的乐园。此后，谁不信道，谁已迷失了正路。”

依真主的判断，月数确是十二个月，真主创造天地之日，已记录在天经中。其中有s四个禁月，这确是正教。故你们在禁月里不要自欺。以物配主的人群起而进攻你们，你们也就应当群起而抵抗他们。你们应当知道，真主是和敬畏者在一起的。

当时优素福对他父亲说：“我的父亲啊！我确已梦见十一颗星和太阳、月亮，我梦见他们向我鞠躬。”
