After (the excitement) of the distress, He sent down calm on a band of you overcome with slumber, while another band was stirred to anxiety by their own feelings, Moved by wrong suspicions of Allah-suspicions due to ignorance. They said: "What affair is this of ours?" Say thou: "Indeed, this affair is wholly Allah's." They hide in their minds what they dare not reveal to thee. They say (to themselves): "If we had had anything to do with this affair, We should not have been in the slaughter here." Say: "Even if you had remained in your homes, those for whom death was decreed would certainly have gone forth to the place of their death"; but (all this was) that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purge what is in your hearts. For Allah knoweth well the secrets of your hearts.

Do they then seek after a judgment of (the days of) ignorance? But who, for a people whose faith is assured, can give better judgment than Allah?

And stay quietly in your houses, and make not a dazzling display, like that of the former Times of Ignorance; and establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity; and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye members of the Family, and to make you pure and spotless.

While the Unbelievers got up in their hearts heat and cant - the heat and cant of ignorance,- Allah sent down His Tranquillity to his Messenger and to the Believers, and made them stick close to the command of self-restraint; and well were they entitled to it and worthy of it. And Allah has full knowledge of all things.

在忧患之后，他又降安宁给你们，使你们中一部分人瞌睡；另一部分人则为自身而焦虑，他们象蒙昧时代的人一样，对真主妄加猜测，他们说：“我们有一点胜利的希望吗?”你说：“一切事情，的确都是真主所主持的。”他们的心里怀着不敢对你表示的恶意；他们说：“假若我们有一点胜利的希望，我们的同胞不致阵亡在这里。”你说：“假若你们坐在家里，那么命中注定要阵亡的人，必定外出，走到他们阵亡的地方；（真主这样做），以便他试验你们的心事，锻炼你们心中的信仰。真主是全知心事的。”

难道他们要求蒙昧时代的律例吗﹖在确信的民众看来，有谁比真主更善于判决呢﹖

你们应当安居于你们的家中，你们不要炫露你们的美丽，如从前蒙昧时代的妇女那样。你们应当谨守拜功，完纳天课，顺从真主及其使者。先知的家属啊！真主只欲消除你们的污秽，洗净你们的罪恶。

当不信道者心怀忿怒--蒙昧时代的忿怒--的时候，真主曾降镇静给使者和信士们，使他们坚持敬畏辞。他们是更宜于敬畏辞的，是应受敬辞的。真主对于万事是全知的。
