O ye who believe! Be not like the Unbelievers, who say of their brethren, when they are travelling through the Earth or engaged in fighting: "If they had stayed with us, they would not have died, or been slain." This that Allah may make it a cause of sighs and regrets in their hearts. It is Allah that gives Life and Death, and Allah sees well all that ye do.

The Unbelievers spend their wealth to hinder (man) from the path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend; but in the end they will have (only) regrets and sighs; at length they will be overcome: and the Unbelievers will be gathered together to Hell;-

Ah! Alas for (My) Servants! There comes not a messenger to them but they mock him!

信道的人们啊！你们不要象不信道的人一样；当他们的同胞出门病故，或阵亡前线的时候，他们说：“假若他们同我们坐在家里，那么，他们不致病故或阵亡。”（你们不要象他们那样说）以便真主以此为他们心里（所独有）的悔恨。真主能使死人复活，能使活人死亡。真主是明察他们的行为的。

不信道的人花费他们的钱财，以便阻止（别人遵循）真主的大道；他们在花费之后，必定悔恨，而且被战胜。不信道的人只被集合到火狱去。

哀哉众仆！只要有使者来教化他们，他们便加以愚弄。
