And now they reject the truth when it reaches them: but soon shall they learn the reality of what they used to mock at.

If We delay the penalty for them for a definite term, they are sure to say, "What keeps it back?" Ah! On the day it (actually) reaches them, nothing will turn it away from them, and they will be completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!

But never came a messenger to them but they mocked him.

Never comes (aught) to them of a renewed Message from their Lord, but they listen to it as in jest,-

But there comes not to them a newly-revealed Message from (Allah) Most Gracious, but they turn away therefrom.

Ah! Alas for (My) Servants! There comes not a messenger to them but they mock him!

And never came there a prophet to them but they mocked him.

当真理已降临他们的时候，他们则加以否认。他们嘲笑的事物的消息，将降临他们。

如果我把他们应受的惩罚展缓一个可数的日期，他们必定说：“惩罚怎么不降临呢？”真的，在惩罚降临他们的日子，他们将无处逃避，他们所嘲笑的惩罚将要降临他们。

没有一个使者来临他们则已，但有使者来临，他们都加以嘲笑。

每逢有新的记念，从他们的主降临他们，他们倾听它，并加以嘲笑。

每逢有新的记念从至仁主降示他们，他们都背弃它。

哀哉众仆！只要有使者来教化他们，他们便加以愚弄。

每有先知来临他们的时候，他们都加以愚弄。
