Behold! ye were climbing up the high ground, without even casting a side glance at any one, and the Messenger in your rear was calling you back. There did Allah give you one distress after another by way of requital, to teach you not to grieve for (the booty) that had escaped you and for (the ill) that had befallen you. For Allah is well aware of all that ye do.

Their messengers said: "Is there a doubt about Allah, The Creator of the heavens and the earth? It is He Who invites you, in order that He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a term appointed!" They said: "Ah! ye are no more than human, like ourselves! Ye wish to turn us away from the (gods) our fathers used to worship: then bring us some clear authority."

"It will be on a Day when He will call you, and ye will answer (His call) with (words of) His praise, and ye will think that ye tarried but a little while!"

What cause have ye why ye should not believe in Allah?- and the Messenger invites you to believe in your Lord, and has indeed taken your Covenant, if ye are men of Faith.

当时，你们败北远遁，不敢回顾任何人；--而使者在你们的后面喊叫你们，真主便以重重忧愁报答你们，以免你们为自己所丧失的战利品和所遭遇的惨败而惋惜。真主是彻知你们的行为的。

他们族中的使者说：“难道对于真主--天地的创造者--还有怀疑吗？他号召你们行善，以便他饶恕你们的罪过，并对你们缓刑到一个定期。”他们说：“你们只是像我们一样的凡人，你们欲阻止我们崇拜我们的祖先所崇拜的（偶像），你们昭示我们一个明证吧！”

在那时，他将召唤你们，而你们将以颂词答应他。你们将猜想自己在坟墓里只逗留了一会儿。

你们怎么不信仰真主呢？使者号召你们去信仰你们的主，而你们的主，确已和你们缔约，如果你们要信道，就赶快信吧！
