"So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers.

Hasten ye then (at once) to Allah: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open!

Say: "Running away will not profit you if ye are running away from death or slaughter; and even if (ye do escape), no more than a brief (respite) will ye be allowed to enjoy!"

Fleeing from a lion!

Thou wouldst have deemed them awake, whilst they were asleep, and We turned them on their right and on their left sides: their dog stretching forth his two fore-legs on the threshold: if thou hadst come up on to them, thou wouldst have certainly turned back from them in flight, and wouldst certainly have been filled with terror of them.

Behold! A party among them said: "Ye men of Yathrib! ye cannot stand (the attack)! therefore go back!" And a band of them ask for leave of the Prophet, saying, "Truly our houses are bare and exposed," though they were not exposed they intended nothing but to run away.

"But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right).

That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?"

Say: "The Death from which ye flee will truly overtake you: then will ye be sent back to the Knower of things secret and open: and He will tell you (the truth of) the things that ye did!"

That Day shall a man flee from his own brother,

我就畏惧你们，而逃避你们，随后，我的主把智慧赏赐我，并且派我为使者，

你说：“你们应当逃归真主，我对于你们确是一个坦率的警告者。

你说：“如果你们逃避死亡，或杀戮，那末，逃避对于你们绝无裨益。你们即使逃避，也只得到稍稍享受。”

刚逃避了一只狮子一样。

你以为他们是觉醒的，其实他们是酣睡的，我使他们左右翻转，他们的狗伸著两条腿卧在洞口。如果你看见他们，你必吓得转脸而逃，满怀恐怖。

当时，他们中的一派人说：“叶斯里卜人啊，你们不必在这里逗留了。你们回家去吧！”他们中的一派人，向先知告假说：“我们的房屋，确是破烂的。”其实他们的房屋并不是破烂的，他们要想逃走。

但我的召唤使他们愈加逃避。

你说：“如果你们逃避死亡，或杀戮，那末，逃避对于你们绝无裨益。你们即使逃避，也只得到稍稍享受。”

在那日，人将说：“逃到哪里去呢？”

你说：“你们所逃避的死亡，必定与你们会面，然後你们将被送到全知幽明的主那里，他将把你们的行为告诉你们。”
