Their similitude is that of a man who kindled a fire; when it lighted all around him, Allah took away their light and left them in utter darkness. So they could not see.

But if We give him a taste of (Our) favours after adversity hath touched him, he is sure to say, "All evil has departed from me:" Behold! he falls into exultation and pride.

When fear had passed from (the mind of) Abraham and the glad tidings had reached him, he began to plead with us for Lut's people.

And remember Zun-nun, when he departed in wrath: He imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the deptHs of darkness, "There is no god but thou: glory to thee: I was indeed wrong!"

Covetous over you. Then when fear comes, thou wilt see them looking to thee, their eyes revolving, like (those of) one over whom hovers death: but when the fear is past, they will smite you with sharp tongues, covetous of goods. Such men have no faith, and so Allah has made their deeds of none effect: and that is easy for Allah.

Then did he stalk to his family in full conceit!

他们譬如燃火的人，当火光照亮了他们的四周的时候，真主把他们的火光拿去，让他们在重重的黑暗中，甚麽也看不见。

在遭遇艰难之后，如果我使他尝试幸福，他必定说：“灾害已脱离我了。”他必定欣喜而且自夸。

当畏惧离开易卜拉欣，而喜讯降临他的时候，他为鲁特的宗族而与我的众使者争论。

（你应当叙述）左农，当时他曾愤愤不平地离去，他猜想我绝不约束他，他在重重黑暗中呼吁（说）：”除你之外，绝无应受崇拜者，我赞颂你超绝万物，我确是不义的。”

他们对你们是吝啬的。当恐怖降临的时候，你见他们望着你，他们的眼睛转动得象昏死的人一样；当恐怖消失的时候，他们却以尖利的口舌痛骂你们，而他们对钱财是吝啬的。这等人，没有信道，故真主揭示他们的行为的虚伪，这对于真主是容易的。

然后傲慢地走回家去。
