And indeed, I
[I] fear
the successors
after me,
and is
my wife
barren.
So give
[to] me
from
Yourself
an heir
He said,
`My Lord!
How
can
I have
a boy,
while is
my wife
barren,
and indeed,
I have reached
of
the old age
extreme?`
He said,
`My Lord
how
is (it)
for me
a son,
and verily
has reached me
[the] old age
and my wife
(is) [a] barren?`
He said,
`Thus;
Allah
does
what
He wills.`
But they called
their companion
and he took
and hamstrung
Then they hamstrung
the she-camel
and (were) insolent
towards (the) command
(of) their Lord
and they said,
`O Salih!
Bring us
what
you promise us
if
you are
of
the Messengers.`
But they hamstrung her.
So he said,
`Enjoy (yourselves)
in
your home(s)
(for) three
days.
That
(is) a promise
not
(to) be belied.`
But they hamstrung her,
then they became
regretful.
But they denied him,
and they hamstrung her.
So destroyed
them
their Lord
for their sin
and leveled them.
"Now I fear (what) my relatives (and colleagues) (will do) after me: but my wife is barren: so give me an heir as from Thyself,-
He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son, when my wife is barren and I have grown quite decrepit from old age?"
He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have son, seeing I am very old, and my wife is barren?" "Thus," was the answer, "Doth Allah accomplish what He willeth."
But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her).
Then they ham-strung the she-camel, and insolently defied the order of their Lord, saying: "O Salih! bring about thy threats, if thou art a messenger (of Allah)!"
But they did ham-string her. So he said: "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days: (Then will be your ruin): (Behold) there a promise not to be belied!"
But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets.
Then they rejected him (as a false prophet), and they hamstrung her. So their Lord, on account of their crime, obliterated their traces and made them equal (in destruction, high and low)!
我的确担心我死后堂兄弟们不能继承我的职位，我的妻子又是不会生育的，求你赏赐我一个儿子，
他说：“我的主啊！我的妻子是不会生育的，我也老态龙钟了，我怎么会有儿子呢？”
他说：“我的主啊！我确已老迈了，我的妻子是不会生育的，我怎么会有儿子呢?”天神说：“真主如此为所欲为。”
他们曾喊来他们的朋友，他就拿起剑来宰了母驼。
他们宰了那只母驼，违抗他们主的命令，他们并说：“撒立哈啊！你把你用来警告我们的刑罚拿来给我们看看吧，如果你是使者的话！”
但是他们宰了它，他就说：“你们在家里享受三日吧！这不是骗人的应许。
但他们宰了它，随后，他们深觉悔恨。
但他们否认使者而宰杀母驼，故他们的主因他们的罪过而毁灭他们，使他们普遍受难。
