Of the Jews there are those who displace words from their (right) places, and say: "We hear and we disobey"; and "Hear what is not Heard"; and "Ra'ina"; with a twist of their tongues and a slander to Faith. If only they had said: "What hear and we obey"; and "Do hear"; and "Do look at us"; it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allah hath cursed them for their Unbelief; and but few of them will believe.

The desert Arabs who lagged behind will say to thee: "We were engaged in (looking after) our flocks and herds, and our families: do thou then ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: "Who then has any power at all (to intervene) on your behalf with Allah, if His Will is to give you some loss or to give you some profit? But Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do.

犹太教徒中有一群人篡改经文，他们说：“我们听而不从”，”愿你听而不闻”，“拉仪那”，这是因为巧方谩骂，诽谤正教。假若他们说：“我们既听且从”，“你听吧”，”温助尔那”，这对他们是更好的，是更正的。但真主因他们不信道而弃绝他们，故他们除少数人外都不信道。

留在后方的游牧人们将说：“我们要照料我们的家产和家属，所以请你为我们求饶。”他们用他们的舌头说的不是他们的心里话。你说：“谁能为你们干涉真主一丝毫？如果他要降祸于你们，或降福于你们。真主是彻知你们的行为的。
